You are kinda 2 years too late m8. lol

Still good to see GW2 going strong, it puts it No.2 game in the west (if EvE hasnt surpassed 550k subs by now)

Nice news. Release in China will certainly spice things up, it might become No.1 NCSoft game which is no small feat since it holds one of the most successful MMOs that bow only to WoW.

How is it the number two game in the west? Not that I am a SWTOR fan, but SWTOR made more revenue off microtransactions than GW2 made. It made just shy of 140 million, and that didn't include subscriptions.

Please post official EA data on SWTOR earnings.

SWTOR didnt make fraction of that.

Bioware, in an article/interview on this very site a few months back, stated that they were second place in the west behind WoW.

Im not saying GW2 isnt doing well, but SWTOR, regardless on how you view it, has more active players.

So you have offcial EA data on SWTOR.

Please, feel free to share with rest of the world.

What they said in interview/article? rofl, they can say anything they want in that. Unfortunaly you will have to back it up with OFFCIAL EA numbers.

Here is the thing.....random poster on mmorpg.com says out of nowhere that GW2 is second in the west......I point out that Bioware actually made that claim for SWTOR not too long ago, (keep in mind, NCSoft has not mentioned anything of the sort for GW2)....yet the burden of proof is on ME?

    Got it ;)

Random BW empoyee reads what PR departement wrote (and he may have been drunk at the time for all we know it) and we shouold believe some dev talk.

Come on dude: how much money SWTOR raked in in last qurter

Do you guys remember when the chinese publisher for gw2 intentionally obscured gw2 stats and tried to make 2.5million total logins per week into 2.5 million unique players per week?

You mean like the hypocrisy of comparing a company obscuring logins to a company obscuring revenue in a topic you yourself created about revenue directly from the company where they are not doing it?

yeah...mad mad desperation. Did GW2 get you pregnant and leave you or something? Cause it seems like you have some sort of personal vendetta.

I wish ncsoft showed how much profit gw2 was making... I wish it wasn't obscured...

Ahh, so since you got caught with "revenue" you are now going to inject "profit" to replace it. (that's right, EA doesn't give profit either, just revenue like every other company).

Keep on backpeddling, soon you will be so far back we wont have to put up with your posts for a few days due to your having such a long ride back to your keyboard.

No one is backpedaling though, except you... remember when you claimed high revenue means high profit?  GW2's revenue isn't even that high compared to other mmos lol... i have earnings reports on my side... what do you have?  aside from a really poor understanding of business

It pleases me greatly that there is still this level of competition between SWTOR and gw2 fans.

why? serious why you guys care so much about how much a game is getting from his players? are you a investor? williung to buy some NCSoft stocks or something?

thing is who like the game will play the damn game, and unless they close the whole game down it will have people and I never did even remember someone saying about a server merger on GW2, so I can guess it have enough players around, and I can guess they can make more they have to spend.

so tell me serious, you can even pm me to tell the truth, WHY the HELL you care so much on how much a game is making:

Ill just quote myself from one other thread:

"Well, my experience in SWTOR was radically degraded because there was not enough people playing (empty servers+massive layoffs+drastically reduced development+content pace reduced to slower than snails+no more class stories (the only saving grace of teh game)+paid content even for those who paid subs+pretty much no chance to fix the engine), and its still degrading.

So yeah, it MATTERS how many people play (and pay)"

Thats because they still wont face reality ;P

I just ask for 1 number, 1 silly number, but they cant provide it because EA hides it. And it does that for a reason. Reason they wish it wasnt there ;)

I like how you conviently cut out my post where i said SWTOR was the second largest in terms of active players, and not "subscriptions"

SWTOR is the second biggest in the west in terms of active players (roughly 2 million a month, around 500k of which are subscribers, that doesnt go anainst anything i said)...which is exactly what i said earlier....

Unless you have anything stating otherwise, please refrain from quoting me with finantial comments...

Remember when you said you wished they reported their "profits" yet still told me they cant have high profits as if you knew they didn't, even while not knowing their operational costs. I do. Remember when you listed EVE as being ahead of GW2 yet didn't realize that they lost money, not made money and that Eve actually has fewer subscriptions than the 555k GW2 revenue equals? I do. Remember your list SWTOR ahead of it also even though EAs own earning reports and CEOs statements prove otherwise? I do. Guess you don't even have earning reports on your side either.

Your argument is based on nothing.

I actually never said they couldn't have high profits... but nice try lol...

I didn't list eve as being ahead in GW2, I listed EVE as having box sales on top of subs... which you were neglecting...

Now how about you trying to talk about things I actually said... come on man you can troll better than this...

Really? Dude, do a google search for the SWTOR cantina events where bioware every month talks about active player numbers......this isnt fun anymore....

Just before the holidays, Eric Musco at the Cantina meet and greet event in Nov stated that "over 10 million play occasionally, while over 1 million play per month."

I guess Bioware is just willy nilly pulling numbers out of their ass right?

Im not doing google searches for you again

So basically what you are saying is, that in a discussion where people are talking about REVENUE and how many subs that revenue equals to, is to jump in with "active players" as if it means something?

And there is your mistake. Also, "active players", Neverwinter was last reported as having 3 million. So...you are still wrong.

All I am saying is it is just as crazy to claim that GW2 is number 2 in the west.

I Love how you are attacking me for saying that Bioware made the claim, yet the random poster who said it about GW2 with even LESS to go on, you leave alone.

I guess we all see where your logic ends, and fanboy instincts take over.

EDIT...i see now that YOU were that random poster making the claim that GW2 was 2nd in the west with even less proof...I guess this all makes sense now lol.

Yeah yeah, i can conjure up some random numbers too. Out of my a** rofl

Really? Dude, do a google search for the SWTOR cantina events where bioware every month talks about active player numbers......this isnt fun anymore....

ROFL cantina events. Is there any bigger assmbly of fanbois? What do you expect them to say to fanbois: sorry dudes we have to cut some more expenses, that means everything we palnned will be dealyed by few months.

Yeah, cantina events ha ha ha, good one. They may have ACTUALLY been drunk at that one rofl

Let me get this summed up again...

Random forum poster says GW2 is 2nd in the west, backs it up with nothing at all....you leave it alone.

I point out that Bioware actually made that claim, and show that Bioware backed it up with numbers on multiple occaisions, and you respond with they are obviously lieing, and that im crazy?

    Got it ;)

So you are saying a random dude on mmorpg.com saying GW2 is the second most played MMO in the west, has more weight than Bioware actually making that clam for themselves?

When will this madness end lol.

Random dude has offcial NCSoft financial report as back up, random BW emplyee (who might have been drunk or on drugs for all weknow) has absolutely NO weight and will do as PR departement says so.

Any game can proclaim itself king of the hill. Thats easiest part. But then you have to back it up. And as far as SWTOR goes you have NOTHING to back it up.

Dude you still havent posted ANY offcial numbers. ANY. for ANYTHING you claim.

Come on: how much money has SWTOR "raked in" in last qurter? Simple question, simple answer.

Man, some people just cant get it through their heads.

SWTOR is 4th or 5th game in teh west (depends on FF really)

My bad, I didnt realise that YOU were the one making the claim that GW2 was 2nd in the west.....this all makes sense now...

You randomly state that GW2 is 2nd in the west, with absolutly nothing, not even NCSoft statements or projections to back it up.

I point out that Bioware actually made that claim, and even pointed out their statements on active players numbers, yet you dismiss everything bioware has stated as "lies", and instead imply that I have "notheing to go by"......I guess I wouldnt, if everything Bioware releases gets dismissed as lies...lol

I dont think I have ever been in an exchange like htis on these forums yet...you sir, are good ;)

1Q13 still saw something like 500K box sales.

    1Q14 is like $2M below 2Q13 and $1M up 3Q13.

I would say those are pretty consistent revenues.

With China release GW2 will see some sales increase via royalties next quarter (so don't expect to see the GW2 sales number to increase since NCSoft doesn't include royalties in there).

    Currently playing: GW2
Going cardboard starter kit: Ticket to ride, Pandemic, Carcassonne, Dominion, 7 Wonders

    So dudes?

Official EA numbers on SWTOR? No

/double facepalm with cherry on top because you couldnt provide ANY official number on SWTOR at any time

Yes im aware of EA reports and their hiding of SWTOR numbers lol mentioned it quite a few times by now...anyway im getting tired of people who didnt read the tread and repeat same old that has been covered couple of times.

SWTOR is not doing well, never did financially wise and never will...QQ...no more class stories...QQ...we will miss you dearly

I for one (like many other people) am not ignorant or in denial to what happened to SWTOR...and LOTRO....and AoC....and TERA...and WHO....and Rift...and TSW...

Just a heads up... NCsoft is just the publisher... not the game designer, that's ArenaNet. All this doom and gloom is funny tho.
