Hello there. I have just seen this chart goig viral on internet and im quite surprised.
I did not tried the game in beta so i cant make an opinion by myself and i need your help.
I love very difficult games and raiding (used to raid in wow wotlk and love it). I also like big pvp battles (2v2 3v3 5v5 is not my thing. I prefer Gw2 Wvw).
Do you guy think the game is for me ? Shoud i preorder? The fuck i dont know what to do since i cant try anymore
Do you guys know if there is a free trial like in World of Warcraft ? or some recruit a friend stuff?
Nothing in this game is hardcore, you just need a hardocore tolerance towards cartoony graphics. You are being babysitted through most everything (combat telegraphs, working on path-levels).
I mean seriously Explorer Path and everything you need to find gets practically catered to you (open map, go to marked area, reward)
The game is made for people who started WoW when they were 10 and now think "hardcore" is, when a raid doesn't lay down in the first try.
Originally posted by Dalaimoc The game is made for people who started WoW when they were 10 and now think "hardcore" is, when a raid doesn't lay down in the first try.
It isn't.
Awwww, somebody sounds mad that the raids don't lay down in the first try. Oh well, guess it's back to LFR and AOE spam dungeons then.
That would mean, i had high expectations or that i care overly much for games, which i never had and never did.
i just wish that a developer had the balls to produce a really difficult and hard MMORPG.
Did you even try a dungeon?
I'm also curious how this person knows the 40 man raids for a game that hasn't even been released yet will not be challenging. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of issues people can see coming before launch but this does not seem like one of them.
i just wish that a developer had the balls to produce a really difficult and hard MMORPG.
and since apparently no developer has made one, you can comfortably sit back in your ivory tower and hurl rocks at all the MMO's that come out, with the security of never needing to prove you can do said "easy" content.
I'm sure you will come back with "but....Pvp...and death penalties...and stuff", except that's not the content you picked on...

halp
there were soooooo many beta weekends why don't you people look listen and dawn load.
they say they have the hardest dungeons only 4 though.
good luck ill just watch what happens on release, epic fail people are bored with these kind of games.
I watched last night a stream of a vet mmo player of a hardcore guild wiping 51 times with his hardcore team of 5 at the end boss of a 5 man dungeon. They were no pug with casual grasshoppers hoping to get some random loot.
Let the haters be haters, they'll never get it. We can have our fun while they hate.
My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion.
Preordered and played just 2 last days in beta. Definitively I'm not sorry to have pruchased.
My first impressions from real gameplay in beta:
PRO
no forced use for WASD, using mouse
fun, humor are present, but less then expected from intro movies in past months
very fluid movement
controls responding as expected, very well
client loading very fast
no single bug or crash in 2 last beta days
CONS
only 1 (ONE!) toolbar with 8 active keys; if I will stop to play I’m already sure this will be for this problem because problem it is; usually this spells button mashing, especially as abilities starts to pile up; always hated when game enforces me to “select” only some spells out of zillion; leave that to PLAYER!, if somebody likes can play game with single spell and any game but if i wish to have 2 or 3 toolbars full of abilities that is MY problem
even on that single toolbar keys are unlocked with leveling so up to i.e. lv. 8 you will have 5 unlocked, at lv. 1 only single; I always in any game have “spam” spell on button 5 and hate being forced move that to key 1 or 2; want to have healing spells on other toolbar and usually main 2 linked to F4 and F5, ... etc .... whole toolbar(s) should be unlocked since level 1 even if single spell available at start; fortunately is possible to move spells to any already unlocked button, lessening somewhat this problem
all in all only 2 starting areas (ok, guess nothing to do, 2 space ships - one for each faction - just closed on planet), but more landing zones;
logout should be immediate if in safe area (or is not just in beta as advertisement is displayed while logging out)
strange selection of body types (i.e. muscular get’s also pretty tick waist)
really hope 6 alts limit is for beta only! In Wow they are getting a lot of sub money from me being able to play 22 alts, 11 for alliance and 11 for horde on which I’m working now to have full maxed out set; I’m altholic and want to play all possible combinations
JUST NOTE
graphics and style somehow reminds me CO (just noted, is not for bad or for good)

Sure, now people will not trust a google chart . What's next? Curiosity is not on Mars right?
People (haters) don't get it , and they will never will , that GW2 is the second most popular/played MMO in the west.
Live with that or cry us a river ..
I'm not impressed, it's B2P after all, free stuff will always be popular, but that doesn't mean they are making a lot of money since only the minority actually buy stuff on the gem store.
Edit: If you count the east FFXIV is actually more popular than GW2.

I think the hype is just up there because the game is about to release. Plus, all the people who have been playing for 2 years have nothing to do for the next two weeks.
If you like WoW, you'll like Wildstar, it's probably that simple really.

Originally posted by BillMurphy As someone who has to pay attention to those trends, I can say that this sort of curve up to launch is pretty normal, especially with an open beta. But good on WS! Because it should translate well to sales.
This, pretty much.
Check out ESO's curve on that chart, it rocketed in the time period just before and around its launch and then dropped like a brick immidiately after.
If you were living under a rock and missed the open beta for WildStar they have now another open phase running. This is still open as the open beta (I think), but access is limited to when the servers are up, which is supposedly mostly during business hours as Carbine will be testing stuff out.

I can believe it. Guild Wars 2 is still doing okay. But when WildStar hits. I'm not so sure. A lot of people are playing Guild Wars 2 (myself included) while waiting for WildStar. When WildStar releases. Guild Wars 2 will most likely take a big hit. Arena Net has already been giving players an encouraging push with their sub-par content lately any way.
How ever. More interestingly at that chart. Look how fast ESO bombed. Holy crap. It has already hit SWTOR levels of interest. It didn't even see the giant peak before launch like WildStar has.
You can find a code that will get you 20-25% off from this site

To the answer to your question.
Yes
Hardcore
YEs
Hardcore
YES!!!
Hardcore
The people that don't like it are wussies and they aren't hardcore enough... that is all!
Or people who aren't hardcore have an actual life they lead with family.
People are ranting, raving, and foaming from the mouth bout hardcore and yet there was a tremendous shift from the hardcore exclusive content for good reason. And those that are praising this "hardcore" are going to be singing a different tune a few months down the road.
And the truth of the matter that interest for WS has skyrocketed is because it is close to launch. History perdicts that WS will end up like all the other MMOs , a niche audience that drops their P2P model within a years time.
I think the hype is just up there because the game is about to release. Plus, all the people who have been playing for 2 years have nothing to do for the next two weeks.
If you like WoW, you'll like Wildstar, it's probably that simple really.
More so with Blizz deciding no new content until Warlords that not due to the very end of the year.

take care!
And you'll be raging on the forums and rage quiting the game when your guild is doing the same boss for over a month straight and no significant progress is made. Be careful what you wish for. Carbine seems to be taking an extreme stance on this. Constantly changing the boss strat isn't exactly a very smart move considering how everyone relies on big name guilds to figure out strats and post em for others.
Sounds fun to me, I don't need an upgrade every week to be happy, and I certainly don't won't to fight a nerfed boss.
In wow you need dbm and progress bars and are limited by this, in wildstar it's patterns on the floor that can be layered. Il skip progress bars thank you.

FFXIV success really rustles your jimmies huh

No bitchers.
I'm saying it's popular on the charts, click here
It's more popular than GW2 now, but not by much, also it's popularity comes almost exclusively from Japan.
This, pretty much.
Check out ESO's curve on that chart, it rocketed in the time period just before and around its launch and then dropped like a brick immidiately after.

Search for "Wildstar Ops Week"
You are basing popularity on the amount of google searches? )
This said Final Fantasy is same to Japanese as Super Bowl to Americans.
It's popularity is unfathomable.
