Can MMORPG detect and remove all the duplicate IP entries?
Nope, and so those that trash on MMORPG.com for making them waste hours of just sitting infront of the comp constantly hitting refresh from that last giveaway will be making a gazillion accounts and entering each of em while those who are honest and enter one account who have been long time posters will have the odds stacked against em.

They actually can, at least they can if they have more than a $5 server. It just takes some leg work. I use to be an admin on another site and I could see all the IPs whenever anyone posted and could go into each account and it shows what IPs that person has used in the past no matter where they were, it also shows what other accounts have used that same IP. I had server privaleges on the site I was on so maybe regular admins over here dont have that kind of power, not completely sure. But it is possible to track IPs on sites like these, we were a small gaming community with a cheap server so it is possible.
I really hope they can detect multiple entries from an ip address. I can imagine many people making 100 email accounts and making 100 mmorpg.com accounts... It would be great if they can post something acknowledging that they will be looking out for this kind of activity.
Multiple Accounts If the staff of MMORPG.com discovers that a user is creating and/or using multiple accounts, that user, and all accounts, both past and present, will be banned from MMORPG.com.
This is from the terms of service, so I don't think it's a good idea to make multiple accounts and you may be at risk of even being eligible to get any key.

Not that I am desperate for a key or anything but I refuse to provide any copies of ID online for things such as this and purchases. It is invasive.

I doubt they will ask/check IDs from 1k people. This will probably only be for accounts suspected to abuse the system like those created just for the WoD contests.
When you guys doing giveaway for exclusive games like WoW or EVE or same hype as these 2, do the giveaway for users whose account is still 1 year old. otherwise you will find trash who create one after another account on the day and bring the website down. and i can assure you these trash will not visit the website even once after they get the key or unless they need more key to sell on shady sites.
