So sad to see such a terrible review has gotten 3 pages of responses. For someone whom played a sandbox game for a whopping three hours, one would think no one would give it any attention whatsoever. Needless to say here we are!

Well thats how we do it. The more ridiculous the post is the more we have to say about it.
Theres some pretty fair reviews that have rolled through with not even a page of responses because all anyone can say about them is "thanks for the review."
Combine 1 parts "very biased" with 2 parts "extremely myopic" and another part "active original poster" and you get a recipe for a very long and unproductive thread.

I wouldn't call it terrible. A terrible review would be saying something like, "this game sucks! it's p2w! a wow clone!", without providing any thought to it.
At least the OP provided some context as to why he thought the game wasn't enjoyable to him.
That the "themepark" part of Archeage is as good as any other themepark on the market and in most cases a ton better lol
You have quite alot of choice in what combat style you prefer with 120 styles to choose from.
It has outdoor raids that aint easy and even the most hardcore pve focused guild may find a big challenge.
It has crafting that is quite good and in range of SWG / Eve Online with a solid economy.
It has Arena for our arena junkies and even duals for our dual fanatics.
It offers tools to make a name for yourself and your guild with no cross realm bullshit.
It has oceans......to dive / fish / explore islands
A high end North continent where the real juice is and only the brave want to go
You can even create or join a Mercenary guild that defends and protect tradepack runners for a fee.
You can be a lawless pirate living the hard life
And soon you can crate your own faction........
This mmo reminds me so much of Eve Online ! Haters gonne hate, but man this mmo is going to be the one for people that have been puking and vometing out themepark trash for the past decade.
while I respect the ops opinion to claim the game world is bland and uninspired is downright baffling. it's a huge seamless world, did you ever venture off your factions island or actually explore. I am not sure what some people are expecting of this game...I think a lot of themepark slaves will be disappointed because they are used to being squished into small themed instances that seem big because they are filled with visual flair. if that what you want come back to wildstar

Game of the year for me without a doubt.

it was really cool if this forum had a posting voting system
I think part of the issue were the early misleading posts about the world being great in this game, couple that with people shelling out $150 and you have expectations not met according to those buyers. Of course, pride and anger kick in and you get some nasty things said about the game. This happens all the time and on this site, it tends to thrive.
Calling this game a grinder means you did not even play the game or you are really bad at playing games.
On the beta servers there were 50s day one.
This is the best game I have played since Daoc.
I have played Darkfall, Eve, Xyson and Wurm. For Darkfall and Wurm (both of which have ship combat) I have invested a ton of hours.
I am talking about games with house crafting, farming, city crafting, ship crafting, ship combat, trade runs, treasure hunts just to draw similarities.
I have also played ArcheAge and found it 'ok' and 'standard AAA MMO fair'. It wasnt my thing after about 30 hours of play and I uninstalled it.
I feel anyone who thinks ArcheAge is a sandbox simply doesnt have the same gaming experience as I have had, its the only conculsion i can come to
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
Just goes to show that if you are a gamer just looking for a shinier version of WoW you can forget this game. AA is not about a follow the graham cracker quest line to the magical kingdom of the never ending gear chase in instanced raids game.
You are actually forced to make decisions on you own in this game other than do I click answer 1 click answer 2 or click answer 3 and hear some voice actor speak you choice. In Archeage you have infinite choices so please OP go play whatever the newest shiniest WoW killer is for a month or two and leave people who desire something that requires actual character development a game.
Interesting mini-review. More interesting is the fact this thing has gone on for so many pages!
You didnt like the game after 3 hours, thats fine. A game has to get me in from level1. No, from the char creation screen. ESO did it for me, Wildstar didnt.
Its a fairly cheap game to own. Its F2P if you really want not to pay. Im giving it a shot. It looks good to me. Not cheap as stated. Its not goin to be the best of graphics, but I dont expect awesome graphics from MMOs.
I enjoy some questing, some crafting, and a lot of exploration. I think this will be a good game at acomplishing that for me.
Again, I dont understand all the white knights here. Defending a game that hasnt released in the NA market yet. Sure its released in other areas, but i have seen my share of KR and Asian game come over and be a bit diffirent on the NA side.
