Well they probably should have invested their money in new franchises, made by other developers and then re-brand it with their logo, you know like Valve is doing.
Team Fortress 2 was released 2007, it took them apparently 17 years to come up with a new IP and this is all they got, is pathetic the right adjective in this case?
NOBODY would give a fuck, if OW was announced by some chinese entrepreneur.. but it´s coming from Blizzard, the developer that has stated they will be MILIKING the shit out of World of Warcraft ´til 2025 or that the game will be still around by then.
This has to be a joke on their part/end, can not believe this IS all they got in 15+ years... a Team Fortress look alike Clone MOBA/Arena what ever you wanna call F2P Shooter... nearly 10 years after TF2 was launched.
It´s time for a second crash.... seriously otherwise we will be playing clones after clones and more clones of clones. Can not wait to play Resident Evil 7/8/9/0/11/12/13, Devil May Cry 6/7/8/9/0 and so on.... oh who does not want another Lost Planet ?!
THANK GOD that we still have Nintendo and some developer (Sony or working for Sony(Wild, Rime, NMS etc.) and the INDIE Scene, terrible time to grow up.... an industry literally full of shit.
Starcraft was simply Warcraft in space. Why not give us another MMO? They could improve the graphics, get back to functional 40+ man raiding with multiple bosses. Tons of things a new MMO could offer. Only everyone is content.
I just pray this wasn't "Project Titan." If that title ever really existed.
Not to "correct you", but for the sake of interest/fun facts:
Starcraft alpha got bashed for being "Orcs in Space", and caused an overhaul of SC in an attempt to distance it from Warcraft
Blizzard is doing the WoW treatment to every game genre.
Doesn't look too good for the future.
And two things will happen:
1. They will make tons of money
2. You will come to realize that you are no longer the target audience in online gaming
At least I hope you realize it. Your ship sailed several years ago and you've been out to sea for quite some time. The open sea tends to disorient a person, so your confusion is expected.
I love when Blizzard comes out with something new. People come out of the wood work with doom and gloom while millions are playing the games having fun not knowing that every day, according to people on this site, their game will be shutdown.
Seriously we have fools on here saying NCSoft makes more money than Blizzard....NCSofts $150 million profits do not touch the $750 million over the same period of Q2 2013 to Q2 2014.

If they did that they would end up like WildStar. A lot of people "claim" to want 40 man raids and long drawn out content because they remember how fun it was the first time. There is a reason games have moved away from it. MMORPGs are a business first. Why cater to the 40 people who want 40 man raids when you could cater to the millions that find them tedious and prefer smaller content.
Also... a large chunk of players who picked up WoW when it was 40 man content were young and had a ton of time on their hands. It was also most people's first mmo, so everything was seen through rose tinted glasses. Most of us have lives now, and the glasses came off years and years ago.
Well said! Couldn't have said it any better myself.
Carbine Studios has learned it the hard way with Wildstar. Listening to a very tiny hardcore, very vocal group of players and got burned into financial ruin because of it.
That game will never recover and with NCSoft's track record with underperforming games, it will be shutdown within a year from now.
So much this! 40-man raiding is dead and it's not coming back. The thing that some of you don't understand is that Blizzard didn't kill 40-man raids, they merely reacted to the data they had that showed them that it was dying out. It was the players who were turning away and Blizzard made the smart business decision to scale raids back and make them more accessible.
You may see dozens or even hundreds of posts with people saying how much they want 40-man raids back, but those numbers are a drop in the overall player bucket. The majority of players don't want it, and the game companies have the hard data on it, not just anecdotal posts on message boards.

All they really want are the old times back... it just so happens that time frame was when 40-man raids WAS the pinnacle of raiding. People know what they want, they just do a lousy job of saying it... which is why we get the sort of games we do.
All we do know is that the direction gaming is headed now, is not the direction we want it to go.

I find it hilarious that you write a long rant against rehashes and clones but then thank the god for Nintendo.
