One of the biggest factors that no one seems to want to address here is the time it takes to get this gear And then, what the Whales are doing to use that time. Almost every one of these gear comparison posts assumes that one person stays idle and doesn't seek to improve, while the other is off grinding hours and hours in oder to get a certain gear set. But that's not how it works. Both people are bettering their gear.
In other words, by the time the player gets his gear through grinding, this comparison will be out dated since the whale has also gotten upgrades.
Wrong. First off, watch THIS video to understand how no matter if you are a whale, you aren't getting past a certain threshold(Divine) more than once or twice and even if you do just spend all your money in the cash shop to sell the items to gain gold, realize the fact that Items higher than Divine are likely going for 80k + gold. Even a $1k a month whale isn't going to have half that amount of gold.
Second all you have to do is run a fucking dungeon with your guild. You act like this is WoW where there are week long locks once you kill a boss once. Seriously stop trying to give criticism on a game you don't even play when you don't even understand anything about it and simply just parroting what others are saying.
Regrades certainly do apply to Serp as well. But even if you have one player decked out in full Divine, and another in just Uniques, the difference in stats isn't as monumental as some of you are making it out to be. Like take Serp chest(since chests have the largest amount of stats). The difference in stam from Divine Serp to Unique Serp is 12 stam. That's about 100 hp. It's a laughable difference. It's no different between the difference between Serpentine gear and Delphinad.
What's the total stat difference (of every stat) for a full set of Divine Serp vs Unique?
Full Divine Serp - Full Unique
144def 722mdef 42stam 37int 14lunagem
Hmm... interesting. What about full divine Delph vs Unique Serp?
Have they changed the Lunagem system? Those are soooo much easier with the cash shop (since their success rate enhancers are also there). What about full divine Delph (or Serp. Whichever is better at this point) with full optimal lunagems vs... whatever the typical amount of lunagems a marginally dedicated nonpaying player would have? (although I dunno the success rate of luna socketting at that high a point. Maybe whatever you think someone would be able to get with around $2,500 spent since that's how much the guys I knew would spend on a weapon in other games... more if they were drunk... seriously)
So.... yea, TL;DR: What about full divine Deplh or Serp (whichever is better) with around 14 Lunagem sockets (or less if you think $2,500 or so won't get that) vs Unique Serp with only around... 4 (I think that's what most nonpaying people settle at these days?)
Lol i'm not gonna lie, i'm kinda tired of comparing the gears stats as it takes 5-10 minutes of comparing numbers and using calculator from set to set xD.
I don't know if the Lunagem system has changed. But basically you can get Lunagems for things like 1.2 Melee Attack increase, or 30 Defense increase and etc. Very small stat changes. As far as the Lunagem success rate, you're correct that the its rather difficult to get more than 3 in the same piece of gear. The most any 1 piece can have is 7(the mythic chest) and pants can have 6(mythic). The others are all like 3-4. But the Lunagems give even less of a boost to stats than the stats on the armor themselves. So most just stop at 3-4 lunagems and don't bother to fill all of their slots. I believe there's a cash shop item that raises lunagem success rate by 50% or so and i read that going past 5th lunagem is like 3% success so you're looking at a 4.5% success rate even with the cash shop item and if it fails you lose all previous lunagem xD.
Full Delph will be better than Full Serpentine, but the difference as shown is pretty small. As far as lunagems go, there's no difference in lunagem slots for same grade Serpentine vs Delph, only thing that affects lunagem slots is the grade. So Full divine Delph vs Full unique Serp is same difference in lunagem slots as Full Divine Serp vs Full unique Serp.

So are you saying that no one is ever going to get better than Celestial gear or are you saying that those who actually do had to pay stupid amounts of money to do it?

You see, in several games I played, when it came to equipment, there were typically around five-to-eight pieces of equipment (sometimes including jewelry, etc). You could then upgrade that equipment, with cash shop items to better increase the rate (like AA's regrade system). You could also socket the equipment, again, with CS items to increase the rate (like Lunagems). And that's where people would spend thousands on their equipment, with the end result being quite... grand.
One piece of gear might not be much better than another. A full set of that gear, however, would be a good chunk better, but still not a big deal (just like Serp vs Delph). A full set of that gear upgraded vs what most non-cashers would upgrade to, however, would be an even bigger differene. But still possibly surmountable.
Once you got to a full upgraded better set with full sockets vs the not-so-upgraded slightly-lesser-set without full sockets, however... at that point, that "no big deal" difference on top of that "no big deal" difference on top of that "no big deal" difference... starts to become a pretty heck of a big deal of difference.
Given that EVERY F2P game does that, I'm pretty sure it's on purpose (R2game's presentation touches on it but doesn't reveal it in complete detail, IIRC). Part of it is to hide the true cost of getting that gear (the rich person starts spending to regrade, then spending to socket, and by the time he's done doens't realize just how much he's spent because s/he had to spend it in multiple places for multiple things. I'm sure R2games' presentation at least mentions that part in full) and part of it was to give the illusion of equality (again, by itself, each one was "no big deal" but taken altogether and it becomes quite big. IIRC R2games' presentation mentioned that too but I could be wrong)
TL;DR: The difference between full divine Delph with nearly full lunagem sockets vs full unique serp with only partial lunagem sockets is probably going to be significant.
