As Mike B will attest, Fallout is a special series for us here at MMORPG.com. While the series has never gotten an MMO or true online treatment, we’re still fans of the venerable and highly regarded franchise. And today, with the announcement of Fallout 4 from Bethesda, we figured there’s no better time to postulate about what we want to see in the newest version of the Wasteland.

Witcher 3 raiced SP RPG bar a lot. Fallout 4 trailer dint much impressed me.
Slacker extraordinaire!
Screw Fallout! Where's Elder Scrolls VI?
Hedonismbot: Your latest performance was as delectable as dipping my bottom over and over into a bath of the silkiest oils and creams.
More Fallout 2, Fallout 1 and New Vegas.
Less Fallout 3 (aka the big disgrace to the Fallout series).
Ditto.
I was highly disappointed watching the trailer and what seemed like the old FO3 engine, that boy is dated as F....
The footage of the nukes going off and the start of the fallout is what I liked the most. Hopefully it's playable.
Don't you worry to much That's one of these "GFX Downgrades" any Game must have these days. *giggle*
Jokes aside. I thought the same. But for a Teaser....hmm....let's see what E3 brings. Perhaps we see more then.

Whats your problem with the graphics? I think it looks really good. The lightning is great and the textures are not washed out or anything. Especially in the kids room and on the bridge before the nuke it looks really good lighting wise.
Hodor!
Great news.....was about TIME!!!
Really looking forward to it.
Very clear from the small teaser they upgraded their engine most likely using the Id Tech 5 Engine, saw lots and lots of details in the teaser already that I felt where missing in FO3 which I felt looked abit bland similar to Oblivion.
What I want is from FO4 is:
Beter character movement, while I mostly play 1st person view, I have tried 3rd person but that always felt quite ackward how the character moves. But I am sure there are plenty of gamers who might like 3rd person view more so hope both views of your character will be enhanced compared to FO3.
More populated towns/city's, I liked the step they took in New Vegas but even then the city fell short at having a decent population. Don't need every NPC to be a quest but atleast let there just be more people going about their own business.
Please make the Pipboy more intuitive, atleast to me it felt really distracting using it in FO3. What if you get the option using PB ingame or select PB compaining app only so your phone is now your pipboy. but as said keep it optional.
Building your own town. Not so much from the ground up but you gotta collect/harvest resources to re-build abandoned towns, get things that might atract new citizens. The amount of citizens will be depended in how much resources/food etc you can provide. This shouldn't be a main thing players could do/play but it could be a optional thing for those wanting this...if any apart from me hehe...
The karma system needs to be somewhat reworked. Sometimes I felt it worked perfectly then some time I was like WOOT! I did this and still didn't loose any karma or even gained karma for things I felt I shouldn't get more.
I agree with the OP as in it could make survival mode allot harder but for some reason I feel it's pretty diffecult. Often with most RPG's the first half of the game either in level/skill or play is often pretty harch, then mid level for some reason I almost always regardless what RPG I am playing I become practically unbeatable. I often need to "gimp" myself to continue the challenge.
Regardless my wish list I am sure I'll be day one player for Fallout 4
I could could care less about the graphics..It's the story and game play that matter to me. Great graphics don't make a great game.
I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.
Luckily, i don't need you to like me to enjoy video games. -nariusseldon.
In F2P I think it's more a case of the game's trying to play the player's. -laserit
I totally agree. Heck, even FO1 and 2 are still awesome to play and they are extremely dated graphics wise.
The thing I hope for is that the environment is able to be at least somewhat destructible and possibly able to build things up like finding an abandoned house and able to fix it up and such.
Okay as corny as it was, in what the 90s, When they had monsters have "damage" (Ie part of their skin could be removed to reveal the skin underneath so to speak), I'd love for something similar here, it doesn't have to be real time (ie when a monster hits you you get a scar ala fable) but I'd like to be able to alter my character outside of gender/Morality equipment. If I get too many rads I start to glow or become mutated (rads are way more important to avoid if you want a stand-up character *rimshot*) basically I want to make my character my own and the world to actually have a lasting impact (you know other than the limp when a limb gets crippled, which can be recovered really easily and your character is back to normal)
Also I want factions to be more important and central to the story. We had that some in the other games but I want what faction I join (and let their be several) change the whole of the story I don't want at the end oh pick amongst these two or three, if i join the slavers I want to be able to help them do so across the entire game area wiping out the resistance, also I want to see when I allow a faction to win to see the after effects when the slide show ends.
I also want things like the gravedigger perk, slaver tag (thus marking you a slaver to everyone), and as controversial as it is and I'll never be doing it in game (at least not on purpose), the child killer perk (granted this comes with major game altering penalties as it should).
IMO if a game is a sandbox I should be able to shape the story in the way I want, have an effect on the world, and thus by doing so, my character is affected as well. I don't need to build buildings or move up and down landscape but I should be able to choose how to affect the world in a non-linear way and have those effects last on both me and the world around me. That to me is a sandbox and what Fallout should be heading towards.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.
As much as i want a Fallout 4, i'm not sure what i just saw is what i was hoping for...
This rather looks like an addon for Fallout 3 than a whole new game to me. I would wish for a new engine, 2x updated graphics, up to date technical standards.
In times where GTA V and Witcher set new standards all across the board (world size, city building, overall graphics etc.) i wasn't expecting a F4 that still looks worse that the old Stalker.
Let's wait and see...
Borderlands style co-op would be great. Instead of one vault-dweller who gets out, there's 4 of you. Why not?
I doubt it will happen though.
I would also like to see a survival mode like the one in New Vegas, not to mention proper iron sights like NV had.
Fully open world, as in no load screens for exterior/interiors, would be amazing.
Vehicles you can customize would be a definite plus. It would mean the world would have to be a bit bigger, but that isn't really a problem. :-)
A more personal story, with a main character that actually talks would be great, so long as it works like Dragon Age, where you can choose race, sex, etc. The player should be pretty free to make their character how they want.
I'm going to reference Dragon Age again and say that it could work for the player to have a group, not just one companion. Throw in the possibility of tactical combat as well, similar to VATS, but really, more like the earlier Fallout games, or (of course) Dragon Age. I hardly used the tactical combat option, but it was nice to know it was there for dragon fights.
Giant robots.
I was not satisfied with the ending of New Vegas. The final battle was too contained and seemed anti-climactic. Don't do it like that.
Some form of multiplayer would be cool, but not really necessary. It would be cool to race your customizable post apocalyptic vehicles though. :-)
A karma and reputation system that wasn't so binary. Groups that have never heard of or who have never seen you shouldn't consider you a criminal right off the bat for your past crimes. Maybe a way to have an alias with different groups so you can help both sides of a conflict. Even if distance from your actions had an impact, where groups on the other side of the map had no idea what you did, no matter who they were aligned with, it would help in this regard.
Get rid of encumbrance, or have a simple way to turn it off in the menus.
I already got what I wanted from Fallout 4...
It's not another stinking MMO.
'Sandbox MMO' is a PTSD trigger word for anyone who has the experience to know that anonymous players invariably use a 'sandbox' in the same manner a housecat does.
When your head is stuck in the sand, your ass becomes the only recognizable part of you.
No game is more fun than the one you can't play, and no game is more boring than one which you've become familiar.
