Summary so you don't have to click back and forth to see what was listed between 5 pages of the article...
Asta Online FTW i think this is the best game Ever all the rest are nothing this is my opinion sorry guys but this is a GAME i dont like P2W games like Black Desert Or P2P many peoples doesnt like to pay that is the reason nobody play WoW again
I figured out why it's called Everquest Next, because it's always coming out Next year. They were the only honest ones, Pantheon Next, Star Citizen Next.
All lies i looked on steam and there like 900000000000000000000000000000 mmo's comming out this year ! Some are even b2p and cost like 2 EURO ! (oh there 9000000000000000000000000 mmo's that you can get to be founder of and play beta/alpha/pree alpha/Alpha of a beta thats in aplha stage pre beta)
Thanks for the list. At the very least it caused me to look into some of the games. Pantheon looks to potentially scratch my "old school" MMO itch with a little bit more solo friendliness as well.
Out of all the MMOs you pick the ONE that tries to bring back challange and group play and say "with a little bit more solo friendliness".
This made me laugh hehe. Guess you did not really check what the game is all about.
MMOs finally replaced social interaction, forced grouping and standing in a line while talking to eachother.
Now we have forced soloing, forced questing and everyone is the hero, without ever having to talk to anyone else. The evolution of multiplayer is here! We won,... right?
I think putting No Man's Sky as part of this list is a bit misleading based on what the devs have said about the world and being able to see other players.
@SavageHorizon and @skeeter667 are absolutely right.
"As far as the forum code of conduct, I would think it's a bit outdated and in need of a refre *CLOSED*"
@Siphaed, you're extremely misinformed about Crowfall. If you're interested in the game you should do some research before passing that kind of judgement.

Wow, there's a lot of titles in there I've been following and looking forward to for years. I don't expect very many to actually launch in 2016 though, still they're getting closer. Pretty much everything to look forward to is either from Asia or an indie developer. I've been saying for years I wanted an mmo about ancient rome, without this article I'd have never known about Life Of Rome.

Boobs under fire!! yeah i don't see that coming to west without "localization". Better play the South East Asia version, no "localization", english client with minimal grammatical error and not to mention they get regularly updated as the original korean version updates. Also i don't know what kind of tech the developers are using but i have been into huge 100vs100vs100 battle along with npc combatants and a lot of other stuff, too many effects of cannon fire and player abilities and such but i never lag in those battles, kinda odd.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Blade and Soul runs (had major problems during betas) - I'm going to be jumping into Black desert, but I'm really interested in Project Genom. I REALLY want a good Sci-fi mmo, with action combat etc. Firefall has failed me because of the devs, and everything else is fantasy.
Only like 3 titles in this list have a real shot at doing some business, but they are not comming in 2016, so I dont know why they in here in the first place.

Yeah, I looked it up and I agree I'm looking for more grouping capabilities. But I also remember the times when I couldn't get a group on my Warrior in EQ and I was completely useless...thus the "little bit more solo friendly" comment .

Star Citizen isn't a MMOG; there are a full 16 players per instance.
If you're going to draw the circle that big, you may as well include Call of Duty and Farmville. CORPG is a more apt term I've seen used to describe it.
The "massive" in MMO usually implies hundreds of players directly interacting in the same virtual space. I get that the market has moved away from this type of design, but it's kind of a slap in the face to older games that actually allow this type of thing to label a 16/instance or 32/instance game a "MMO".
It will be up to around 100-150 per instance by launch for ships.
Not including the players ON those ships.
ArcCorp is 40 as it is at the moment (well 36+room for friends in a party.)
I'm more interested in what they are doing right now, not what Chris Roberts promises will happen by launch.
Glad to hear they are aiming for up to 150 ships + individual players inside... it will be interesting to see how that pans out. I'm still not comfortable slapping the label of "MMO" on that game, no matter what CR says, until they show something like 100+ players in the same digital space. This is especially true if the most they can manage right now is 16. It makes the promise of 150 ships plus players sound... like a city on a hill.

EverQuest Next is the "I forgot to take down the shingle" Ware.
And I don't particularly care when an *indie* claims a game is going to go live... until it actually does... it's adware. And I do mean that in it's most negative context.
There is only one game on the list that has me truly excited and that is Chronicles of Elyria. From what I have seen from the Design Journals and what has been shared by the Dev Team this game should be amazing. The only problem is that it is far from release and it has spoiled all other gaming interest for me.
Only like 3 titles in this list have a real shot at doing some business, but they are not comming in 2016, so I dont know why they in here in the first place.
ARK already sold over 3 millions copies on two platforms, and theyre releasing this year. (already released if you ask me).
SO I would say theyre already doing business.
The fact that people dont give that game any consideration shows how far players are from reality of MMOs and gaming in general these days.
But when people see 70 players per server (official) and 'survival' they dont look twice I guess.

Chronicles of Elyria, only thing I'm truly excited about, only truly INNOVATIVE game I've seen in a long, long time.
It will only be Innovated in getting money from your Pocket. Here another $10s for another 2 months of lives that if you die will turn into another 2 hours of life.
Way to spread misinformation...
You'll get around 6 months if you are a TERRIBLE player... as in. commit crimes and keep getting busted all the time. Upto 10-14 months for majority of the safer players, 10 months will be more the riskier players who make some bad decisions out in the wild.
I think you are wearing very rosy glasses. You seem to forget that the whales and the cheaters will make those that attempt to play it safe, miserable. You will die far quicker than that. You have to realize that they are a small shop that will have a hard time controlling those that attempt to disrupt the game. Ignoring what has happened in prior pvp games from far larger shops is just operating in self denial.
You suffer more spirit loss for committing crimes and getting caught, than you do for getting killed... They are building mechanics and controls around this to ensure gameplay time, if it gets glitched and worked around that players are griefing other players excessively, they can take action if needed.
No rose coloured glasses around it, they're designing the game to track such things.
As for size of the shop - they're double in size soon and scaling up to 15 employees before too much longer after that. They've been able to free up more funds internally (note: no kickstarter or any other funds donation from community as yet) so when kickstarter happens, they'll be able to increase their developer base even more as required.
You just don't get it do you? Whales and cheaters could care less what happens to their characters, it is all about making your life miserable. If you think those minor things the developers are doing are going to make a difference you are sadly delusional. You are looking one badly thought out design, which is typical of these small indie shops lately. You would think they would be aware of how game play is affected by such people and make some allowances for it. It is like they just want to fail.
