    Zzz..
    So simple.

Can i do lotsa useless stuff in game = 1
Can i endlessly kill mobs and level from it (grinding) = 1
    Can i buy costumes = 1
Does it have PVP = 1
    Can i haz boobs = 1
Can i kill DMKano in it = 1
Can i DIE and loose a shitload of XP = 1

If the end result is 7 its a GREAT game.

Kinda sick of the rest of the crap that comes out nowday's.
Hopping from question mark to question mark get xp and kill some mobs along the way.
Hit a mob with your BIG axe and then "DING" leveled up.
Spending  like 5 minutes in an aeria since after killing 5 mob you "dinged" 5 times and need to move on.
Simplistic dumbed down ez mode, 80% of the games that come out a half blind monkey can play.

Finaly something different. and i dont give a shit about the cash shop or b2p f2p p2w

As to the world feeling alive...yesterday i watched a stream and while the streamer was running to another city, on the main road he literally run into one of his workers that was on his way to an outpost with his wares and goods. Now, that was one of an unexpected surprise!

I was fighting in a swampy area (I'm so bad with names) and as I was fighting a group of mobs (I strongly suspect combat in this game - pve wise - is about fighting groups, not one at a time) I looked across the way to see someone's worker harvesting materials.

It was the first time I had noticed that workers were real people. Absolutely love this game.
    You already past 40?

I was watching a stream the other night the guy was 49 ranger and some red came in and tried to ruin his day. Was an exciting fight ranger versus warrior the guy just ran off eventually.

Watched the world boss fight last night. Holy shits man the boss gives loot to everyone as he is being killed like silver and stones, seem to be auto inventory. Was exciting to see 100 people on screen all battling him and the frame rate of the stream was still ticking around 56.
    30.

I have been fighting groups of reds as I wanted more challenge.

Wah?! Those NPCs you see moving about with packs on roads and doing stuff out and about are workers for other players? I just thought they were random NPCs moving about to give it an illusion of liveliness (perhaps it still is, but way cooler).
Only if they have a player's name above them. It will say something like "Sovrath's worker" or some such thing.

That's not even arguing on semantics, that's just non-argumentation. Not a surprise coming from @Soki123 , she's on a vendetta against this game, it must have eaten his kitten or something.

The guy basically tells him "you are wrong, you only enjoy the game because it's new and shiny, it sucks you'll see it soon too". Dang, that sounds like those preachers who know better than you what's good for you.

Bachus answers him to mind his own business, which is pretty appropriate here.

There are several others who should apply Bachus's advice to themself here... notably those who don't intend to play this game yet are on a holy crusade against it.
I ain't gonna lie, looking at the videos of this game is so sexy and on the surface everything seems nice. It is like when you first lay your eyes on an angel from above, she looks perfect, she is your 10. She sends a jolt of electricity through your body everytime you get next to her. At first everything might be perfect or maybe we just choose to ignore the lesser liked features. Then as time passes there is a possibility that maybe she doesn't do everything you would like.

I guess one has to experience it themselves before any verdict is laid out. And I plan on taking a crack at her to find out for myself.

Best to group with full group and do purples. Group in this game really has some benefits. Killing groups of mobs is best and if you can handle deep reds then you will go fast. Maybe to fast. :)

You also have tougher "rare" mobs which require all your skill to beat. I've met some goblin which turned me into ground meat the first time because I didn't notice he was "angry". Then I came back and focused, and managed to beat him. If you have a falcon pet, it will detect those mobs for you.
Just found something like that myself. Was killing Goblins, then off to the side found a Goblin cave, in the back I found a 'Violent' Goblin. So Im doing my dash teleport, and throwing lightning chain to kill the rest of the mobs, tryin to keep up healing aura and my shield. Finally got him but man, it was intense.

Yeah I discovered one of those when I was fighting some goblins or some such thing. "Suddenly" the music changed to this really ominous melody and this larger goblin thingy ran right toward me.

I then went to closest node.

Got my Yuria, dropped a couple black stones to enhance it to +2, and then whisked waaay back to the area I was in before.  I do enough damage now that makes me feel powerful and still feel the fear of being 2 shot if I don't dodge right.
Mine sadly is sitting in my pack unused because I have a better (for now) staff. I'm level 26 and I've had 8 armor black stones drop for me and not a single weapon one. And they don't even last 15 seconds in the AH when one makes it there lol.
When I first got my Yuria weapon, I was disappointed to see that the AP damage on it wasn't even close to the current weapon I already had.  I even wondered why people claim the Yuria weapon is one of the best.

Then I put 1 Black Stone in it and it was instantly way better than my current weapon.
I then put my last Black Stone in it and it was far superior to my old weapon.
At only +2 enchantment, I realized if I could get it up to +7 (current max for 100% upgrading), I would have something insanely powerful.

So onward I go, looking for any way to get more Black Stones!

Yeah. I managed to get 2 to drop from the cultists. Mine is now also +2 and very nice.

I been running around getting all NPC unlocks and doing all sorts of other stuff since level 9. I heard other in chat saying they were proud to have 43 energy at level 20 LOL. I already have 40 on this ranger and this is first char only 11.

The world is very much alive and refreshing to do stuff I couldn't do even in EQ2.

You all know my stance is just the PvP mechanics so hoping they fix it.

To be honest, even though I enjoy PVP and have done a lot of it in many other games, there is so much to do here not related to PVP that I sort of want to do just that and grind in peace when I feel like doing that too... it's weird for me to even be saying that, but there it is.

A voluntary and optional flag/not flag system would be a nice addition.

its real, for the first time since god knows how long, this is a gameworld that feels more like a world then like a game..

maybe it is because nothing is easy in this game, and everything requires an investment and choices to be made..
maybe its just because of the beautifull open world that challenges you to explore
maybe its because you have a choice..
Dude, stay off the forums, haters will try and taint your experience. Just play the game and enjoy.

I'm going to flag up and stay there when grinding. Don't care if I win or lose because can't lose experience if flagged if you die except by mobs. Being stupid and not paying attention to ones surroundings is why people get PK'ed. Old L2 system was great but glad they stopped clearing Karma on death.

edit: Oh it's not about me Iselin. It's about those that want PvE and don't want to get PK'ed. Going to be large numbe rof them doing an exodus.

Funny thing, people seem to love PVP "games" as evidenced by MOBAs and shooters, with a fair ruleset.

Takes a totally different and much less common mindset to enjoy basically play sheep to be preyed upon by wolves.

This latter group just wants to enjoy the virtual world of the MMORPG without being excessively drawn into the PVP side of it.

The more control given to such player in order for them to manage their level of risk to their liking, the more they will be willing to stay.

Few devs realize this, and even CCP has slipped up in a big way in recent years in their unwarranted campaign to make High sec space less safe, its almost stupidly so especially if you wish to haul expensive goods to market or just mine in peace.

Right there is it. The MOBA is about competition the MMO is about virtual worlds. MOBA are for killing each other and have little else going for them. MMO has tons of content outside PvP.

I've been wanting to play a MMO that is immersive as the last time I felt that way was in WoW (not my first MMO either).

I'm wanting to like Black Desert. But the more I research about it. The more and more I'm starting to dislike it.

When I first heard about the game. Gender locked classes were an instant turn off. I know there are 'counter parts.' But that's only for a couple and not all.

Deciding to look pass the gender locked classes. Even though there have been people praising the character creation. It's actually extremely restrictive. Your wizard is going to be an old guy no matter what. Your warrior is going to be a guy in his 30s no matter what. etc.

Very well. Maybe, just maybe I can live with that. What's the game's content like? It has poor dialogue and story telling off the get go (Can probably thank Korean translation for that). Animations are sloppy and not fluid (eg. spotted a lot of walking animations where they're not in sync with their speed and just looks odd).

Leveling? Hope you like grinding mobs because questing is an inefficient way of doing so.

PVP? If you're the person that likes to PVP when they want to and PVE at your leisure. Also a big black spot with PVP being non-consensual.

    PVE end game? Non-existent.

Game has struck out for me sadly.

You dont quest for gaining level Xp

you quest to gain more energy, and energy is required for doing anything else then combat in the game..  So when you just grind, you will run short on energy (and contribution points) and you will not perform well on your character..  The system has so much depth... And everything you want to archieve costs time..

and about the combat, it makes me feel like a 3d version of the action combat in games like diablo, constantly trying to find a challenge in fighting groups of red mobs is challenging enough, and sattisfying as wel giving good loot and xp...  But there is one thing, you dont want to die, dieing is expensive, the chrystals on your gear break from dying..

all in all, the combat is incredible much fun..

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

As I said in another thread the one thing so far I dont like is the energy system. I can log on right now and be completely out in 30 minutes. No more harvesting , conversations , node discoveries..etc. If you just want to fight fight fight then I can see the appeal. But actually playing the game to the fullest is quite a task at least for me.

Oh and once you get so far from a road there seems to be a whole lot of nothing. I have done a lot of exploring so far ( not terribly far along ) and I hate seeing tons of deserted places.
