Hate and Racisme on the EU servers

in Black Desert Online
a major irritator for me in this game is a certain part of the community...

espescially the general International chat is evil...
they allways bring up racisme Nazi, black people, and islam related...
there is a guild that requires their members to wear a white pointy hat...
there is a guild called Nessert Diggers, which constantly brings up hate related topics
there is a guild named nsdap, and one called AdolfSS
and offcourse the guild ISIS..

i am not used to this from other MMos i play, atleast not in this magnitude, why is this sombad in this game?

    There's too many childish people around. Until they do something regrading these guild names, there's not much we can do.

    I think it mostly has to do with it being a PvP game. They seem to attract those types more than other types of players.

    Without a shadow of a doubt.

    PVP-centric games always attract the extremists. Most PVP'ers are perfectly normal people, but unfortunately that genre has a distinctive lunatic fringe. It only takes a handful of extremely offensive people to taint a whole community.

    I've always said open world PvP games attract the bottom of the barrel among MMO players.  That is why I avoid them.   Here we go again.

    Its a pvp game. If it offends you dont play it.

    I hate to say it, but this is very typical of an Asian MMO.  Tera, B&S and etc.  I play most at least the first two mentioned so don't get me wrong.  I do love these mmos.  It's just they have the worst communities.  As Kyleran said, they have zero mods watching the chat.  You can basically say w/e you feel like and the biggest consequence is that someone might block you.

    Aye, that's one of my big negative points about the game, or rather about Daum.
    Their customer support is basically non existent.
    Now that they raked in some good money, they could invest it in a few GMs to clean that mess.
    They had loads in CBT1... on forums and in-game. Everyone was praising them and i said lets see if they keep like this after launch... least be said that all ended by CBT2 lol. It was a totally different place/company during CBT1... its like they ran out of money and let them all go.

    Something definitely happened from announcement hype and CBT1 to CBT2 in the company... just look at how CM_Jouska interaction with the community changed and became a glorified forum mod around CBT2.

    Lack of CS and moderation is typical of F2P games. Those things cost money, and F2P games need to keep expenses to a minimum.

    Unfortunately, the majority of the purely F2P games we see in the west come from Korea, so some people make the connection that it's "bad" because it's foreign, not because of its monetization priorities.

    What does PvP really have to do with being a racists douchenozzle?  Even if you do it "for teh lulz". No the only course of action with people like that is to ban them (and if possible provide their local newspaper with their information and chat-logs). Nothing i would like more than these brain dead nubblets having to face the real world consequence of their actions.

    The university I work at has a database system for student info and grades called ISIS (Integrated Student Information System), and it's in BIG ASS LETTERS on the top of the screen lol. It's just ridiculous as you walk around and see people with ISIS on their monitors. I lol every time.

    Be careful with the "ignorant" accusations, lest they bite you in the ass ! :D 

    The word "daesh" is an acronym of sorts, and is in fact disliked by the group. It forms no part of their actual name...

    The acronyms Isis, Isil and IS predate the use of "daesh" in the worldwide media, mainly because the original arabic would be meaningless to non-arabic speakers and secondly because the group themselves keep changing their name...

    Well, the way I see it, its a sandbox and everyone should be able to play the way they want. These idiotic guild names bother me too. Same as some other kids cursing around my kid when he plays outside in the sand :-) 

    Just need to teach him to ignore these strange beings.

    99% of the time. You see those guys on pvp servers. 

    Just like irl ignore them or slap them.

    It's the anonymity. What was it that was said before ''all that is required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing''.

    Many people hide their racial bias or other hate but when they think no one knows who they are they will express it. It is more rampant in games where less policing occurs because of the server rules or game rules so it tends to rear it's ugly head in PvP games more frequently but that does not mean that people who play PvE games are not similarly inclined to do so if they are safe in their anonymity.

    I grew up in a very racially divergent country where there were racial riots in the 60's because of the 3 main races in my country and while growing up I experienced various subtle forms of it but we have a very strict policy and this includes quotas and various other institutions in place and the older generation hide it and it comes out  only in anger. Kinda frightening when you realise that sweet old lady you knew all your life was really this other racist individual.
