Well, maybe it's because of my age (don't care what penis wrinkles say), or the fact I am learning the game at my pace (slow as molasses) but I don't even pay attention to the chat. The guild I am in uses Discord so chat is non-existent for me. The only way other than having a staff full of employees to take out the trash like this in games would be to have real world ID in game. There would be no hiding behind fake names and would have to deal with real world if they acted like idiots or racist hatemongers.
It would be impossible to do but could you imagine if your real name and pic of you were attached to everything you did online. How many people wouldn't do or post the things they do now?

And here I thought all the Trump vs. Hilary BS on the NA servers was bad. Racism in the NA servers is almost non-existent as far as I've personally seen.
However I do have to agree with others: there is a conspicuous lack of in-game moderation or CS. Unlimited blocking sort of works but the chat seems to have zero moderation.

Give us a name of some Asian MMO's that are pvp centric and dont have these kind of toxic turds in them instead of just cry that there are... Don't worry...I'll wait. The one thing in this world you can defifnitly generalize are MMO'S from Asia lol. And don't get me wrong we have turds but our community managment for western MMO's is important to us and not to them thats obvious.

Lineage II, Aion, TERA, CABAL I have played them all in the Western releases and have not seen much of an issue. In fact I remember a fairly large guild being banned from Aion for having a name that was offensive. It took too long imo but they did it.
I have seen plenty of posts about those havin toxic communities as well there just not relevant games anymore so there not in the spotlight. PvP brings the turds guys and we have to live with that and were all well aware.. You just need to be more open to meeting new people learning your class and partying but mostly I would say partying.
Where exactly did I say western mmos didn't have toxic communities? I've been playing mmos since DaoC. I have seen my share of toxic behavior in these games. My experience in the Asian mmos ported to the west is that they are the most toxic of all the mmo communities. Don't believe me? Log into Tera or B&S and the general chat will be spammed full of gold sellers and vitriol. You really seem to be getting really defensive about this. I'm not generalizing a race of people, just mmos. You know games so calm down Nancy.

I played Tera twice and while there was a comment or two regarding elin, the majority of the community wasn't toxic if anything it was talking about general stuff instead of the usual debates we get here in the west about x vs wow. B&S I didn't play for long so I'm not sure sorry.
I played my fair share of eastern mmos from Aion to Black Desert and even "odd" ones like Cabal but the only "mmos" I can really say that have toxic communities are mobas and competitive fps games like CoD. Most mmos have these toxic people in the start, they quickly disappear once people ignore them. I honestly haven't seen any toxic topics in Black Desert for the time being other than the PronHub guild that mostly gets laughing comments than people being offended.
But anyway I just wanted to say that maybe both of us have gone on the wrong road? I mean your first post was kinda leaning on blaming eastern mmos and maybe you didn't mean to. It's just like blueturtle said tough. I'm not defending eastern mmos, I'm just fed up on the asian hate this site loves to bring up on every subject.

The word "daesh" is an acronym of sorts, and is in fact disliked by the group. It forms no part of their actual name...

Whilst the "idiot" is obviously the word too much, BDO has quite complex systems which would be difficult and long to explain in chat. A simple request in Google will give you several websites with tons of info and detailed writings about the most complex mechanics. So the advice, while rude if expressed like you said, is not a bad one. Seems to me that you think you are entitled to other people's time... while helping others is a good thing, sometimes it's better to redirect them to Google rather than to waste your time explaining something long that would maybe not even be understood that way.
