If it happens I'll be happy and I'll try it. Am I getting my hopes up? Nope.

"This reads like a sponsored post. The environment looked great but that combat was just so slow. Nowadays we have the tech to support more intuitive combat".

The speed of combat has nothing to do with the complexity of combat, and its almost impossible to tell whether combat will be fun by watching a video regardless of the visual speed. We will just have to wait and see how it plays when your behind the keyboard.

McQuaid had his corporately funded shot, and totally blew it. (If not for a "fire sale" to SOE, Vanguard would never have even been released.)

Don't disagree with your post but - for the sake of correctness Sigil did release Vanguard albeit "unfinished" since they ran out of money. (Hence your point about cash being king holds). SoE bought Vanguard - but not Sigil of course - after c. 3 months (and hired some staff - c. 40 staff being the number reported but not all were to work on Vanguard).
Could be, but I recall SOE buying it, working in it for a few months and THEN releasing it.

This was after Sigil fired everyone in a parking lot on a Friday, at which point the game was not released yet.

In the end, it does not matter much.

I have to admit, Pantheon is looking better and better. The Twitch demo was outstanding. I will definitely be playing this as soon as it's humanly possible to get my hands on it.

Close.  SOE was listed as publisher before the game's release.  This alone caused quite a stir, if I recall, but they didn't actually sell the game until a bit later.

And yeah.  Fired in a parking lot on a Friday sounds pretty sarcastic, but I think that's exactly how it went down.  Maybe they were stealing boxes?

    lol OK mate Cheers! *smh*

What you think is good != good for everyone, that's what he's saying. You don't want something "good" you want something you like.

I made a statement that I am curious as what kind of crafting system they will have. Does not really matter if I like it or not. If the majority of the crafting minded people like it then it will be a good one ( for them) I may not like it even if everyone else does. Whether I like it does not matter. I am just curious what it will be like. Simple statement.

Might want to read your initial post and also learn to grow up to take criticism and admit when you are wrong. You made a statement it was VERY CLEAR and it was "Depends on whether the crafting system will be good. WOW has crafting but.....not really." His point was your idea was you get to decide what is good as in what you like....

Me I hope they don't waste a single moment on some stupid crafting system. Not sure when it started but it has been a curse onto the mmorpg genre this stupid waste of development time on the lame mini game known as "crafting" that only a very small percentage of people enjoy or even want, and even then they only enjoy it as a device to control the economy and make ingame money. At most if i have the materials somehow (preferably from adventuring) I goto an npc caLLED A BLACKSMITH, pick the item offer up the materials and done.

I'm guessing 'Dire Lord' will be like Shadow Knight, which I like. But no Necromancer?

This game looks like it's strictly aimed for people who want the "Nostalgia feels' from EQ. I watched the live stream and nothing was impressive. Graphics are outdated, gameplay and combat is SUPER clunky, and it just feels primitive. Don't know why you choose this over other games. It almost looks like a cheap version of Rift. If i'm wrong, ok fine, tell me why, however this looks like runes of magic.

I've played tons of MMORPGS so I can appreciate games like FFXIV, and even games like Rift and Aion, which are older outdated games that are still popular and worth playing. I see nothing about this game that would pull me away from others.

And I stated before, i'm open to any reasons why i'm wrong. I seriously don't mind having another mmorpg to play, but there has to be reasons.

I have high hopes for this one, just hope this game does not have slow & clunky combat. Old style MMORPG'S are fine, but leave out the horrible bits plz ;)

I happen to like slow combat,i detest SPAM combat because i don't like to feel i could close my eyes and not even look at the game to do combat.

Clunky well of course not,i doubt Brad has a clunky game, there has been no indication of that in the past but i see lots of it from other developers,of recent being BDO.

It is not even about SLOW ,it needs to feel liek a active/reactive type combat, meaning you might have to think a bit instead of the typical ARPG type spam combat i see in so many games.

Let me put it this way,i see anything that looks like an arpg/Diablo, the game gets an auto FAIL and i will not be playing it.I have better things to do in life than hold down forward arrow- aoe spam aoe spam aoe spam.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

@gdemami What are you trying to do here? @blueturtle13 Never did or said what you keep accusing him of. There are generally two types of crafting in MMORPGs, and sometimes there is a hybrid of the two. He is hoping for one of those types to be in this game. It is astonishing how YOU can't understand the simple difference between what he is saying and what you are saying. He isnt say one way is right or wrong, as you keep trying to tag on him, he is trying to say that he prefers one way, which is totally fine. Hes not saying his is the only right opinion. Stop being annoying. He then bowed out of the conversation because you were just being impossible, and that seemed to go over your head as well.

Real life brings repetition and pointlessness too. The only thing real life offers is Great graphics. Its kinda expensive too and way to dependent on the cash shop. Totally pay to win as well. No thank you. Ill stick to my games.

    Yeah, lol indeed.

It is astonoshing how many people here cannot understand the difference. Mind boggling.

It's astonishing me to that some people are complete pricks without being mistreated at all. It really is a common theme on the internet. Maybe it's real human nature coming to the surface when there are no consequences for anything they say. I don't know..... Mind boggling.....

Anyways, I hope that this game does well as it will bring a lot to the genre. I will not be supporting it for my own reasons but I hope that everyone that is will get something they can enjoy.

Don't bet that someone won't be max level within a week or two and then start complaining that there is nothing to do :)

For some people it is a race and they will tag team it to max level just to say they did it.  The trick is to find the sweet spot where your target audience is happy at the progression.  In my opinion many games fail in that their target audience is 'everyone'.  There are only a couple of companies that potentially have those kind of resources and VR is not one of them :)

My opinion of course, but some of the mechanisms announced for this game are just absurd.  Like the colored mana items?  ROFL, good luck with that.

Anyone trying to put this game off as an old school MMO has bats in their belfry.  It is nothing like the old school games.  This will be a typical indie game at release, there will be a ton of issues.  People above who complain about the whiners need to get a life, people expect a game to be fun and I don't think this team of developers understands that fact.

Hear what ya saying, but by the same token wouldnt it be good to have a game with a niche following rather than cookie cutter bullshit, you say it will not be fun, well thats an opinion, whats eye tearing soul destroying game play to you, may be some elses idea of heaven, I offer up the game Landmark ( bloody awful in my opinion) but there is like 8 or 12 people that love it to bits (8 or 12 figure was pulled out of my ass ..Disclaimer...)
