    I really hope this is at least quais-true. However, I've heard this same tune played again and again for the past few months.

    I just hope that if something like this does happen, I will have a chance to make one last bitching post on the SOE forums.

    BioWare's press release states that they'll be working on "a" mmo not "their own" MMO.

    so, they r going to add things from the pre cu and put it into this new mmo?

    I dont understand. This new mmo will be sort of related to the pre cu, and be out " soon" ?

    To lead the Online Gaming Business Unit including managing the Star Wars Galaxies service and establishing new Online Games consistent with publishing goals.

    * Leads strategic plan for online business
    * Manages P&L for online business.

    * Minimum six years of experience in the gaming business in Product Development, Business Development, or Marketing capacity.
    * Strong understanding of online business models.
    * Experience in subscription based online model; including and/or developing acquisition and retention programs.
    * Excellent organizational communication and management skills with a strong desire to contribute to a unique creative environment.
    * Must exhibit an affinity for online entertainment software and possess a strong sense of aesthetics applicable to producing high quality entertainment products.
    * High achievement in leading creative talent in a fast paced production environment required. Must have successfully developed and managed people, resources and schedules with a world renown software entertainment company.
    * Keen knowledge of software entertainment industry, game platforms and genres.
    * Proven track record of bringing successful online interactive products to market and maintaining flourishing online service.
    * Related Undergraduate degree, MA preferred.
    * Must love games.

    Ofcourse TH said it was only a rumor because as of now it is. The only time it'd become fact is when/if BioWare or LA made a press release. TH certinally isn't going to come out in a random forum post and disclose any information he knows.

    I specifically remember a thread about the starter kit on Amazon and TH saying it was an error and he'd look into it.  Obviously, soon after, the NGE hit.  I tried to find it and went through TH's old posts.  Interestingly enough, MANY of his posts have been deleted.  While I was going through, there were many pages around that time where 0-4 posts were on that page.  The only way that happens is when going through someone's post history and posts are deleted.
    Someone was smart enough to delete any posts where TH was refuting the NGE rumors.

    The founders of Bioware and the creators of NWN has allways wanted to make a NWN mmorpg..

    Edit: plus BW has stated that they would never work with LA.. ever again

    I hope Bioware don't get screwed on royalties and then end up putting Star Wars MMORPG on the back burner. Otherwise, Bioware looks like a great company.

    Just to put a rest to all the SWG rumors - THEY ARE NOT TRUE!  The OP has lied to you or is completely misinformed.

    Bioware has officially stated they WILL NOT work with Lucasarts ever again AND that the new MMORPG will not be anything that requires a licensce of any type.

    They are not doing SWG, SWG 2 or anyelse that has anything to do with Star Wars and/or Lucasarts.

    SWG is staying in SOE's hands; anything you've heard to the contrary is a lie.  Period.

    (personally, I suspect that the new MMORPG will be in the world of Jade Empire - it's their own making, and there wouldnt' be any licensing required.)

    Wouldn't make sense though.

    NWN is set in AD&D. And DDO was just released. Two competing MMO's in the same setting?

    someone just posted on BW site that their BF works at the SOE Austin studio and said that Bioware people have been visiting there. I won't link to it since people cry about linking stuff in here. image

    To many people that want it to be true for it to just die. Go through all the pages of this thread and check out all the "new" posters. Lots of people in it with only a few post, like yourself. These rumor threads dont usually do that...espically at this magnitude.

    Well, even if it is a rumor, I still got a kick out of the sheer speed of the attention that has come to this thread. It's really nice to see that there are still a lot of people out there, like me, who miss the old Pre-CU (and CU) version of SWG. It's a real shame when there's nothing like it, yet so many people want to play it.

    Hope that we see another good Star Wars MMO eventually though. As much as I'm a fan, I can't stomach what they've done to the game. I'm glad it's dead and the cities are barren, and I'm glad pieces of shit like that Julio Torres on that AOTS interview now looks like a total asshole. Players would throw their fit and come back huh? NOPE! YOU WERE WRONG ASSHOLE! HOPE YOU LOSE YOUR JOB!
