Dude this game idk, it looks like the creator of the game just played a couple hours with the Unreal Engine(which is garbage to begin with). Honestly it must have been hard but it doesn't change the fact that it won't make it. Though it would be a good master thesis or smth xD
So, oh great one, which engines aren't garbage...
If you say Unity I will laugh you off this planet.
different question for you two, you work in which branche exactly? just curious. bc you seem to be total "pros" and whatnot...
actually both engines are quite good, if you can use em.
you wanna make your "own" engine or what your point? well, now you see ME laughing *G*
and if you actually think something like this could be done in a couple of hours in the unreal engine with standard assets.... yea. nice to have talked to you ^^

I dont know if its just by crazy chance or not but it does seem stastically nearly impossible for the list of games I am about to give you to be amazingly outstanding gaming experiences and just by chance all of them created in Unity. The reasons they are amazing to be fair are not related to graphics however I wonder if maybe its the tools. I dont know but the differences are striking in game quality in my mind.
The Forest SubNautical Rust Stranded Deep Kerbal Space Program 7 Days to Die
all outstanding games by a large margin all made with Unity. So again I dont know if its just because of the tools or just by chance. I dont believe that that much chance.
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how much it would cost to make pre-alpha demo videos like the ones this game has?
The cost for combat skills, models, trees etc. etc. functional enough to get in-game solo player to record some gameplay.
It means there is a framework in place. Cost really depends on what it is we're looking at. Is this some pre-canned marketplace asset (I bought an MMO Engine for Unity for $70), or is this something with more significant amounts of custom work? Either way, you'd still need to know what you're doing. It's not going to be paint-by-numbers easy, it just gives you the tools you need to put things together more easily. It could be hundreds of dollars (plus your time), but some more expensive animations could run you in the thousands.

But not in the hundreds of thousands or millions, so less than $100k is likely? And yeah, assume it's all cheap canned marketplace assets.
