There is no evidence that this game is half-baked. From what I can tell they haven't even gone to the store to buy the flour yet.

HA!! Totally untrue! There have been images put out already! So they've gone to the store and taken pictures of the flour.

Well I think that they got a LOT of positive press when they squashed the Kickstarter idea. Now they just have to pony-up (pun intended) and show that there is an ACTUAL game that we can expect to be playing in 6 months. I'd say that's something that should be relatively easy to put together considering if it's 6-months out then they likely have the complete (or nearly complete) game already.

    Don't hold your breath.

I'm sure they will find a myriad of reasons why game play cannot be shown extensively "this early"...

Think about this long and hard... I know, for some it is a real challenge... but if the game is worth playing and has even a rats ass chance of even being completed... it will still be there for you to play when it's actually done.

The real issue here is not the game itself, but the players so damn desperate for something to do in their lives that they are willing to spend thousands on an idea if only for 5 minutes of game play.  That my friend is so sad on so many levels as to make a heroin addict look like the pillar of society.

Hell, the best thing that could happen for you is the complete eradication of the internet for at least 10 years... then you will be forced to find something else to do with your free time.

Lol, spoken with confident ignorance. I can't speak to this game in-particular because apparently they don't need a KS anymore. However, to make the assertion that "...it will still be there for you to play when it's actually done." is WILDLY inaccurate. The whole premise of crowdfunding and early access is that, without a publisher, these companies require money in order to actually complete the game. So, no, if everyone decided to wait, it will NOT be there for you to play. There may be some exceptions to those rules, but for the most part funding is required in order to make games. People don't work for free.

Also, I'm not sure why you assume that it's an act of desperation by players to back a crowdfunded game. Did you ever think that maybe some people actually find value in backing these games? I've backed about 10 now and only 1 hasn't been completed, and that one (The Repop) has been bought up and will continue development. However, since I saved 50% or more on the box price for these games during their funding phase, I have saved, conservatively, $150 just on the box price of the games alone.

As for people spending thousands, I don't do that, and you obviously don't find value in that, but obviously some people do and obviously they've got much more money that you or I to spend on games. So maybe you're just envious. I don't know. In the end, there are probably hundreds of things people spend more money on annually than this, so it's probably not the epidemic you're making it out to be, certainly not to the point of killing the Internet for 10 years, lol.
There is no ignorance on my part... I am of the type that believes the milk should be in a carton at the store available for me to purchase and then consume.  I am not the type that believes I should pay the farmer to go buy a calf, feed it until it matures, then milk it, then deliver it to the store so that I can buy and then consume it.

If you think the later approach yields better milk... so be it.  I will still be able to buy milk either way, only with my approach, there will always be milk ready to consume and not a promissory note on the door.

What I think is ignorant is that you are talking to people as though they're retarded, but most are well aware of the risks involved, but it's something they want to see made. Also, in the majority of cases, there will be a game. I manually reviewed all KS video game projects a couple years back and the delivery rate was 75% with 20% still in development and merely 5% on hiatus or canceled.

I can appreciate your position because you're not alone. I don't think you're a retard for wanting something guaranteed. What I think you're ignorant about is the motivation of those who DO back these games and their expectations.

Using your milk theory. Back in "the day" milk delivery was the norm. Today, people like you would much rather go to the store and get your milk on demand. It's there, guaranteed to be ready for your consumption. However, as Google would reveal, there is still a niche market for milk delivery because, obviously, some people believe that it carries some merit. What that is, I can't tell you because I don't get milk delivered. However, are they retarded for paying someone for milk that they can't put their hands on right now?

Point is that you're saying that people who get their milk delivered are ruining the milk industry, but the reality is that they are SUCH a small percentage of the industry as a whole that they are literally inconsequential to the success or state of the industry. Let's face it, there is a reason that milk delivery died and that is money, and it's no different in the game industry. Games that go through crowdfunding are those which the game industry would never publish because they are unwilling to take a risk on something that is not a slam dunk. I'd prefer to think of Kickstarter backers as people who want a change. They are, hopefully, encouraging innovation and creativity with publishers, too. They certainly aren't heroin addicts, they might actually be the few people who are stepping in and helping YOU heroin addicts off the Call of Duty's of the world and into something different.

The pre-order bonus got extended to the 20th after the gameplay trailer got delayed, there was pressure on their side because it required a blind pre-order before gameplay was shown.

The only thing missing is bonus items in RNG crates.
