Your least favorite MMO ever.

Which MAJOR MMO is your least favorite?  By major I mean not something that nobody plays, so everyone knows it sucks.
If you're unsure, then maybe stick to the 'Released Games' list here on the MMORPG.com site.

And WHY is it your least favorite ????

Don't forget the why!!!

Of all the ones I've played, I would have to say Horizons.

I thought that the game was going to be so cool.  But it turned out to be horrible.

Bad gameplay, bad graphics, and really horrible combat.  My character looked like he was having a seizure when he went into fighting mode.  And the armor was even worse than the old armor in Everquest.

If the rest of the game were as cool as the crafting part it would have been fun.  But the rest of the game was a complete 180 degrees away from fun.

Despite every time I try to be nice and defend it, for it is nice in it own way...DDO.

    - The players are completely unprepared and surprised to what await them in DDO, mostly in a wrong way.  The publicity and the product are just not the same.  If you sell motor bike and advertise they are cars, if peoples command those 'cars' online to realized they are in fact 'bikes', they aint going to enjoy the surprise.

    - DDO fails to appeal to either D&D fans or MMO fans.

    - It is an ACTION game that dare pretend to be a RPG, this is a shame.

    - Finally, I am a chronic D&D fans...and I also happen to be a MMO fan (although to a lesser extend)...they really fail to reach either aspect...Turbines bring a big disapointment with this game.  I am also a fan of D&D computer products brought so far in general...and again they doesn't respect that either...in fact they respect that legacy even less than the PnP legacy.

I tend to think Vanguard will beat DDO on my hate-o-meter, but it is not released yet!

    World of Warcraft

Why?  I used to love the Warcraft series.  I loved running around destroying my enemy, crushing them to the ground.  World of Warcraft has no real war in it.  Its all built around the "quest design" with no real war aspects, or rpg aspects.  It goes to show people will pay for a heaping pile of [censored].

Which D&D video games have you like so far?  I have tried out Neverwinter Nights, but didn't care for it.  Too much reading.  I'm very dyslexic, so any game that has reading usually ends up going over my head instead of into my brain.

    City of Heroes

How much more repetitious could they make a game?  The quests are all pretty much the same.  And the graphics weren't all that good to me.  They get you all excited creating your character, but once you start the game the excitement leaves.

World of Warcraft - close close close second.

It was a let down in so many ways.  No game depth.  Horrible cartoon graphics with squared off character models.  Waaaay too easy.  And don't anyone tell me that I didn't experience grind in that game.  It was some of the worse of any game I've played.

Face of mankind, amazing concept, terrible game.

I tried to get into a city and was shot instantly by one of those brotherhood guys. Respawn with virtually no health, wait ten mins for it to recharge. blugh.... The worst bit is I REALLY wanted this to be good so I kept trying all kinds of different characters, no difference.

Cov, most fun i've had creating a character. Gameplay was mindnumbing and simplistic.

DDO.....i really really wanted to like this game, I even convinced myself to stay a 2nd month, given up on it though

    EVE Online.

(I forgot to put my own least favorite.  Ooops.)

I guess a lot of people like it, judging from that ratings meter thing, so I tried it.

I just couldn't get into it.  Actually, I hated it.  I got soooo bored.  The graphics seemed really simple to me too.  They weren't as cool as Earth & Beyond graphics.  And I got really bored mining from potatos all the time.  Plus I just don't like juggling spreadsheets to play a game.  That doesn't scream role-playing fun to me.

My least favorite was Anarchy Online.

I had a free year subscription to it and I still didn't want to play it.

Just did not like its style, it was too uh...Nordic...for lack of a better word, not gritty enough, not dark enough, did not have a coolness factor.

I mean you play futuristic postapocalypic games, you expect bad ass looking cyber mirrorshades hackers, corporate ninjas with night vision goggles, guys in trench coats with dark glasses and an Uzi strapped under his armpit. Cyborgs. Robots with grinning deaths head.

But it turned out to be men in green tights running like gay fairies killing furry alien creatures.

    You call that sci fi?

EQ. It's easily the worst excuse for a "game" I've ever seen. The boredom started at level 4. The downtime was unreal. I tried it after playing UO. I went from fast-paced to one char who had 40+ min per hour of meditation. Yes, I timed it. In fact I don't consider EQ to be a game because even my best char had over 30 min per hour of useless, mind-numbing downtime that felt like useless, mind-numbing downtime. If more than 30 min per hour is wasted not actually playing, how can it be a game? I want to get covered in the blood of my foes not sit staring at my monitor in a 3D chatroom masquerading as a game, which is what EQ is in the end. There were some cool locations, but ultimately it was unplayable. When you have to look up quests at third party sites just to be able to do them, your quests suck. I judge all MMOs by soloability. If it's not solo friendly, count me out. EQ was not solo friendly.

EQ is pure crap. I went into it eagerly and ended up hating it with a passion that lasts to this day. I lasted 6 weeks and achieved level 48 on my highest char. I only lasted that long because a friend from RL was into it. I was bored in less than a day, but I gave it every chance I could and then some. I wanted to like it. I tried to like it, but crap isn't something I like. After having tried SWG and EQ2 I can say with complete authority that SOE knows everything about how to make social software, but they know nothing at all about gaming.

    Yeah I forgot about EQ.

First game I ever played where you have to watch TV to keep from falling asleep.

    Craptastic PVE snoozefest.

Say what you want about WoW, at least you can play it without falling asleep. In fact I would say that WoW does not qualify as an MMO, it is 3d Diablo, and the fact that it is actually focused so much on PVP gives it some semblence of respectability, moreso than EQ/EQ2/SWG and similar titles.

Can't say it's a bad game, just not my kind of game.

    Face of Mankind

It sounded good but things are not always as they sound. The game was boring, empty, and basically just a game to shoot at each other no real market, no real anything except ganking.

In a close second EVE Online

Did not like the leveling system because there is no way to work your way to the top like in games such as Earth and Beyond and Vendetta Online. It was fun at first but after realizing i was paying basically to autopilot and wait for the time to finish counting down for another skill level i realized... what exactly am i playing this game for? Am i even playing to do anything? The community wasn't the greatest either. I did like the crafting system and economy which is why it is my 2nd least favorite instead of least favorite.

    D&DO

Why? The scope was entirely to limited. It was 10 steps back for MMORPGs.

    RFO

Why? The complete lack of any creativity on the devs part. No content so to speak, just pure raw grind. The lack of creativity showed through right at the racial choice. You can pick big elves or small elves and a robot. I'm actually surprised the robots dont look like elves to.

    SWG

Why? Because $OE couldn't organise a p*** up in a brewery. Worst customer support, constantly lied to along with secret revamps. The game has been turned into Star Wars Battlefront Beta Online, it will soon be ported to console (PS3) although $OE vehemently deny this. More bugs than a tramps overcoat, a trial that isn't a trial, more lag than a ZX Spectrum trying to run a nuclear reactor, less players than a game of tennis! I could easily go on but it's too early in the morning, and I don't need it!

DDO for taking D&D licence and making worst piece of GW clone with it. Now we can forget ever seeing D&D mmorpg again

I will have to say DDO.
That game is an absolute disgrace, shame on Turbine to have ruined such a big franchise.

    - Didnt like the way it was played... its by clicking, a space fighter game should be keyboard controled fast combat

    So many games...

    -MxO: WTF were devs thinking?
-CoH/CoV: It's almost same shit as MxO...
-SWG: How the fuck can you go wrong with SW game? Well, ask SOE.
-L2: Korean shit. Grind, grind, grind, get pwned by random PKer, grind, grind, grind.

Most of all I hate all these L2 clones... They take shit game, put skin over it, no story what-so-ever and they don't even bother with changing UI. But WHAT I hate the most is that there is like 20 "L2" games out there and NON of those dev teams is smart enough to make a fucking easy movment of a character. Like I have to click 2134235 times just to get around one simple tree. FFS.

Really sad thing is that WoW is best MMO outhere ATM. There is nothing better to play. Ok EVE is fun. But... I can't play it. I just get some really kick ass looking ship and I would kill to be able to just grab the joystick and fly that thing around the space... And not click. But ok. Other then that game is great.

This fucking sux... Not a single MMO worth playing.

DDO caters to its own niche crowd. It's not a regular MMO. To the OP, Runescape. Although it could be defined as a tutorial MMO I just don't see how anyone could enjoy even 5 minutes of it since the sub-standard graphics, the combat is inane that you can do nothing but slash away and occasionally chug a healing potion. I could probably find more to whine about  but this game needs to be put down.
