I like all the MMO's that I have played to a certain point, but I disliked the simplicity of EQ2. It is good for a beginner MMO player, but not someone who wants a challenge. I also hated how the graphics were beautiful at one point, yet the character models looked cel shaded.
I could write a long thoughtful response but any game that includes a /pizza command can't be taken seriously.

I would have to say Shadowbane. Shadowbane (As some of you may recall) promised an awful lot, and fell short on 90% of it. But thats not to unusual for an MMORPG, in fact it is sort of what MMORPG's are known for these days.
Moreover SB was just another boring grind, with a horrible character advancement system, and mindless PvP. Granted it did have PvP (and I like PvP well enough) but for me PvP has to have really good strategy involved. I have said it before and I will say it again, if I wanted mindless PvP with no strategy I would play Quake online.
Also Shadowbane looked horrible (even in the context of its time, not just because its old now). And to boot it ran horribly. For the first 4 months the game crashed about once or twice a day (And these included roll backs). I mean server unstability in a new release is one thing, but that was just rediculous. SB was one of the first games where players demanded (And got) their money back by calling their credit card company and saying that they got ripped off, because the game company did not provide the software as advertised (thats how badly it ran and how unstable it was). It was not finished at release. I left 4 months in.... sometimes I wonder if they ever did finish it. /raise eyebrow at wolfpack studios.
My least favorite mmo has been Anarchy Online, simply because it was released in such poor shape. It left such a bad taste in my mouth that I never returned.
Saga of Ryzom was a close second, as it was released prematurely, missing features and with plenty of bugs.
There have been other mmos among the many I have tried that I wasn't pleased with, either because they did not have much content or were missing features that had been promised in the release, they had features that were not much fun for me, or they had a poor community of players ( Horizons, Eve Online, and World of Warcraft, respectively).
There is absolutely zero content aside from the dungeon crawling.
This might not be bad per say but it moves the concept ot MMO to far in the wrong direction.
The dungeon crawls are fun and well made though, it would make a decent single player RPG I guess.
But, it lacks in exactly everything else one has come to expect from these games.
Little to no customisation, recent changes has made it so we are seeing more and more template or min/max builds, most are all the same or a variation on a theme.
No crafting, none.
No world, there are a few adventure zones that are somewhat big and perhaps it will take you 3 - 4 hours exploring them all, aside from that, one big city, cut into playfields that are split up into instances.
No housing, something I do not understand at all, an eq2 type housing system would have been easy.
No storyline, or very little at last, I do not understand why I am there, what I am supposed to do, what my goal is or any point what so ever to do anything.
One might say, "Well this or that do not belong", or "DDO do not need that, it is not part of the DnD universe", and they may be correct.
But remove ALL of these features and you do not even have an empty shell, you have a hole were an empty shell would fit.
To me this game is a cultural blasphemy, to do this to the DD world should be outrigth criminal.

Hmm, well, so many to choose from but i'll state my top 5 least favorite:
1. SWG: It had great potential to be a top dog in the MMO industry because of its genre but with all the false hopes from the devs and constant revamps the game lost its appeal.
2. Shadowbane: I was mislead by all the promises the devs made about how it would beat all the biggest competition and especially EQ but turned out to be a flop with lack of storyline and too much lag; no motivation to keep playing.
3. Lineage2: I played the beta and was drawn to the game but on release the issues that plagued the beta were prevalent in the final release. No story driven content i could see, no PvP motivation other than griefing, and horrible U.I.
4. Everquest: I played it from the day kunark was released through planes of power. I watched this game go from something captivating to a nonstop grind for the lastest gear and most AA points. The story was there but no content to drive players to seek it out. Quest became obsolete as well as the original content in a short amount of time. Too much balancing and too many expansions that layered bugs upon bugs.
5. Horizons: I really enjoyed the game and especially the crafting but the game was not finished at release. The further you venture the less you can do. Lacked varity in creatures. When i went back some content was added but still the lack varity and no high end content or PvP motivated gameplay.

Once upon a time ive loved Neocron,. But the Developers stopped the "working on" on this game, so its still almost the same as it was in the first beta.

how about you check the patch notes of WoW's latest patch hm?
2 years later they add weather to WoW and that's supposed to impress me? It's supposed to be an outdoor environment. That should have been there from the very beginning. From what I hear it's not even in every zone. Still my least favorite. Haven't changed my mind. As many people play that game and as much money as they're making, they couldn't hire a dude to put weather in the zones? The world isn't even that big compared to other games.
yea Eve was good for a while until i realized i was paying to do nothing. Its a pretty game but not for me. Now i play Vendetta Online, fast paced with twitch combat and joystick optional, the way a space fighter game should be
I played Earth and Beyond and still would but it was cancelled (curse you EA). I guess i don't hate the game just the company who made it (EA).
Recommend checking out the free trial for Vendetta Online it is a completely different game than Eve.

There are a few games I really disliked, ranked worst to the craptacular.
SWG before NGE, boring grindfest, WTF I wanna be a jedi! EvE, best thing about it was character generation AC, I lasted perhaps 10 minutes with this game. DD0, who the hell let this game get released like this, not a D&D fan.
1. Runescape: I never made it past the "make your very own toasted shrimp" tutorial. Maybe there is a good game back there spomewhere but I never got to it.
2. SWG: I don't pay to beta test.
DDO gets honorable mention. I've never tried it but from all I have read I would hate it. But really, who knows? Maybe if I actually tried it I'd love it.
A bit off topic, but I tried EQ about 6 months ago, and the dowtime has been greatly diminished . . .at least compared to the olden days around Kunark, PoP, SoL. I found that I hit level ten in about half the time it used to take me. The way that you get spells has also been changed so that you don't have so many "dead" levels. It's not the best on the market right now (not by a long shot, imo!), but it's a heck of a lot better than it used to be. If the only gripe you had was downtime before it might be worth giving the trial a go.
I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.
1) Star Wars Galaxies. This one doesn't require an explanation. If you've played the game, you'd know.
2) Dungeons and Dragons Online. This game exemplifies all the worst qualities a MMORPG can possess--extreme dependance upon instancing, a clunky interface, zero crafting, no PVP at all, no ability to solo.. Mistakes were made left and right with this game. Because the developer, Turbine, is making LOTR:Online (and will doubtless butcher it) I won't be playing it.
3) The Matrix Online. This game was just terrible. Everything bad from the Matrix mixed in with poorly implemented features, a sloppily-written storyline and boring, lifeless City-of-Heroes style missions. A complete waste of time.
4) Guild Wars. Would anybody be playing this game if it required a monthly fee? I know I wouldn't have even TRIED it if there was one. The lack of a monthly fee invites all the garbage "rif-raff" of the 'MMORPG community,' the same kind that flooded Diablo 2's battle.net. Children spamming the trade channel non-stop, people with names like 'TouchMaiBoobz' (or WORSE) were not only commonplace, they were the norm. The GMs don't enforce the rules at all, the game is completely instanced (thus removing the 'MM' part of MMORPG) and there's no real sense of character development, seeing as how you don't have to live with your choices and can change your point/skill setup practically at will.
5) Final Fantasy XI. Proof that Square Enix has completely lost whatever spirit they may have had at one point. Blind preference of the Japanese population (which I won't go into, that could be a thread on it's own), an insane reliance upon grouping, a fractured and unhelpful playerbase, a broken/shattered player economy abused by some, manipulated by others, rampant bugs wildly abused, tedious travel system and practically non-existant smalltime quests, with mediocre, unimaginative writing for the story quests.
All the MMOs I have played eventually get old, but this award was definitely earned by SOE's game turn ooowy goooowy crapola, SWG. I truly and honestly am constantly amazed at how a company can choose the exact way to punch your community in th face, even when they come back for more. (And somehow turn a profit) I could go on, but I will save it for the SWG forum.

Earth and Beyond.....actually wish for this one back....I quit to go play galaxies
SWG--nuff said.....would play Pre-CU in a heartbeat though
EQ2....up to level 20 was awesome. After that, sucked. Forced grouping
EVE...first time I quit was because of a nerf. Playing now but getting bored
COV...awesome idea that turns really boring really fast
Anarchy Online...5 min to hate that game
DDO.....can't stand a game that forces me to group....some solo content could save this game.
There are only 10 types of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't
