Bioshock Infinite, Fallout, and Borderlands were at a bar, got a little to drunk, went home and had some intimate time and 9 months later Outer World was born.
Completely ok with that.
I am beyond happy with that idea. Actually, I am now beyond happy.
"No romance" Thank god always hated that in FO4, I mean shit its Fallout not Persona.
You have to consciously work for it to romance a companion in FO4.
Avoiding it is literally a matter of not choosing that dialogue option if it comes up, which won't come up unless you tug the companion around and make them like/idolize you.
How can you hate something you can easily avoid? I am all for choices. I loved Mass Effect and had the choice to romance Garrus and chose to but just as easily someone else can simply avoid that. For me it enhances the story by a lot to be able to form relationships with the other characters which includes romances, friendships and enmity. If you want romance excluded then friendships should go too as these are perfectly natural relationships.

This is one thing that IMO, FO4 did better than the ME games. When you maxed the affinity with a particular companion you got buffs from them that for example, improved your sneak damage, hacking ability, damage resistance etc.
You got those permanent bonuses whether you had a romance with them or not. In ME they were just a story device but in FO4 they went one better making it a game play advantage as well.

Yrs. At the end of the trailer it says PS4, XB1 and Steam.

At this point Steam means both Windows and Linux. I know because there is some backlash because some developers pulled their games from steam to put them on the Epic store and terminated the Linux development at the same time.

In terms of gameplay, yes. In terms of story and character strength, the loyalty missions in ME (especially ME2) go above and beyond.
Though I personally like Persona's social link system the best. The social links provide compelling combat and non-combat bonuses, romances exist but are optional (and I'm personally a fan of romance options), and there the time-management aspect of the games encourage you to intelligently choose which social links to pursue, rather than maxing them all out as in other games.
1 Single player games are always TOO gaited, linear, that ship has gone and sailed with the wind.
This old catchcry has been shouted out for about 10 years now, started by people living in echo chambers, and is still as misguided as it was back then.
They seen to be going out of their way to not talk about the details of the lead character. How involved will character creation be? Will there be little character creation, just put a helmet on him and he can be anyone, like Warframe. Will the lead character be voiced or silent?
You did not play a lot of WarFrame, now, did you? At least not 2016 or later...
This looks so much better than Fallout anything could ever be. There is a vibrancy and campiness to this sci fi setting that adds a ton of character.
True for me too, playing a human on Earth is the last thing i want to do, no matter the situation.
Ok . . . cyberpunk is the exception, but even then I'd much rather it be Shadowrun!
Shoehorning identity politics in everything has incentivized people into such a degree, that they push back even in cases where there is just a mild mention or no mention at all.
The people who are pushing the thing that divide us as opposed to the thing that unite us have already done considerable damage to the hobby.
Btw if anyone have questions that my article didn't answer, I'll keep coming back to see if I can answer them. Can only throw so much info in one article

Is that a question or is that the engine they are using?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I should have read @Scot he rued the lack of a windows mention as a platform.

For years now this site has covered many different genre of games. This is nothing new.
I am really looking forward to this game, it's the first single player game I have ever looked forward to.
If you want a new idea, go read an old book.
In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.
i really like that style. not everything needs to be super serious!
I had fun once, it was terrible.

How does it feel to be wrong for so long?

Can't we just play games to be entertained and not be so offended about everything...geez bro go back to the protest-of-the-month rally.

Kyleran on yours sincerely
'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'
Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...
'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

Life is too short to play bad games.
