A new Kickstarter MMO, DreamWorld has launched and funded in its first 9 hours. The new MMO surprisingly only asked for $10,000.00 to fully fund further development.

Anyone else think they are just celebrating April 1st a bit early?

Saying "it will be the biggest MMO ever" ffs... Keep your heads on earth, watch the gameplay and you'll see only random free shaders and assets from UE with the most awfull optimization ever and lack of content structure.
Stop being dumb!
And all for the low low price of $10k.
Haha, Yeah I think that is spot on.
10.000$ that is so beyond ridiculous, hell even if they said 100.000$ it would be completely unrealistic...no matter how great and production ready your tech is (which it is not).

It's crazy. I mean I recognize the Synty assets everywhere in other games, but holy crap. Their entire trailer was nothing but super common assets and templates. It's insane that you can hustle 10k for that. Ouch. Just saw the claim that they will have the population density of real cities. Good luck with that with a Unity project. Maybe they meant Detroit?
Even something this bad has people throwing cash at it?
OH MY GOSH.....I fear for the human race...people are idiots.

Seems like I've maybe seen this before, but it's probably legit.
I had a good friend years back who was really good at BS'ing his way into management jobs, just crazy how successful he was with very little knowledge.
So who knows,i suspect they have some code the yare confident with but to build a game is something else.
Personally i was happy with Atlas,i don't need a lot of assets so long you give me replacement content and a world that feels realistic.
Give me the ability to build things,on land,on water, tame creatures as pets and for combat.Allow me to hire npc's to help with my boat and my chores/combat.Basically i want a living experience within the game,i NEVER want to see destination markers or stupid boring quests.
Keyword is >>WORLD,make it feel real and you have the start of a great game.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
1. Only asked for $10k...
2. Set a delivery date of July this year
3. Willingly and intentionally brought CoE into the conversation
If those 3 items don't indicate poor judgment I dunno what to tell you...

Like he's supposed to gain sympathy or something for his bad year. I got news for you Zach, 2020 sucked equally for everyone.
In case you cannot see through my sarcasm, this is trash reporting on a crap topic. Seriously MMORPG.com for shame.

Try a MUD today at http://www.mudconnect.com/10 Devs for a massive mmo is not going to happen. $10k is missing three 0s at the end to be a realistic kickstarter for any mmo.
Now if they make a larger minecraft where they basically just build the procedural generated world and mechanics and literally let the players make the content. Then I could possibly maby see that working in 4-5yrs with a team of 10... obviously not making a salary at that kick starter level.
Hard pass for me on this one. I see a concept but no way to realistically reach completion.
I honestly think this game has potential! They only been in development for 6months PART TIME, with only a couple people. I think they have a great idea, and I hope the succeed. Some of their ideas are big, and they might not be able to deliver 100% of their promises but I think they'll do everything they can to do that.
2) I'm disappointed in MMORPG.com (and MOP) for even reporting on this and possibly drawing more people into throwing away their money.
