No one cares!
If this particular case is understandable, they went too far in...changing things, especially in WoW.
Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy?
Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!
Jesse McCree was a goddamn good name for a cowboy though, so that's a shame.
Blizzard are a scumbag company who molest, harass, and bully employees on top of being greedy scumbags who also purposely cheat their customer base in unfinished products. Instead of trying to fix any of that they went the route of trying to change "offensive or inappropriate" names in all of their games. Mcree was an employee involved in said harassment. So yeah here we are watching this lame shit instead of any real meaningful change.
I fully expect in the future to watch games where team 4 plays team 13 for the championship because everyone was offended by each and every name that existed.....ALso the USA will no longer have a history at that point...it will all have been erased because people were offended by it.
What? I thought we were sharing meaningless news?
It... Is... About... MONEY.
The people who hold big stock in Blizzard want this entire thing swept under the rug and then want the rug nuked from orbit. The quickest way to do that is to scorch the earth and then never speak of it again. Because we meat popsicles move on to the next crisis and the vultures swoops on in and the entire stockmarket keeps on rolling. They give not a single fuck about your account or the accounts of another 100 angry people.
But to keep the name in could lead to people bringing it up... Could lead to more controversy... Less money.
Does it really matter to anyone if they change the name... No not really.. Well apart from the IRL McCree perhaps... Being forever branded by this... But the thing is, not taking action would cost more money log-term than this does short term... Most people comes back, will come back to OW2 and the rest most likely fit in to the regular churn. If not, they would not have done this.
Because it is all about the money.

I know this isn't the place for it. BUT WOKE PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO CANCEL DAVE CHAPPELLE. I MEAN FUCK OFF. Just look into history and see what sort of people canceled comedians. Fucking tyrants!
I am sure future generations will laugh at us for renaming a game character as well. And when they do they won't be saying ah there was money involved, no problem! No. They will judge us for this mess that we have become. It won't last forever though. I believe in humanity.
Well... Is it really woke if it is not about wokeness... I´d say it is closer to virtue signaling...
But either way it is about money and nothing else.
As for Dave Chapelle... If one is going to be a ass-hat (a very valid standpoint for a comedian) one has to be a consistent ass-hat. Only a fucking idiot would try to make a point out of exclusion by excluding a large part of his own viewer base...
Also not to be picky but... Canceling comedians has been a staple since.. well.. comedy was invented.

So, that would make it OK? We should keep canceling them because it is a tradition?
If you are doing comedy and nobody wants to cancel you... You are doing it wrong.

Of course. But you also have to look at what voice any group has had before and what avenues they had to broadcast said voice.
`'cause that matters almost as much.

I'm genuinely starting to wonder if the "people" developing Blizzard games are even Human.
Cole Cassidy...or Cassidy Cole.
Obvious choice. Cassidy Cole.
