My daughter got futher on wow did she did on a barbie game.. This game is for kids. rip off of warhammer and the play ( raiding ) is a rip off of eq. This game offers nothing new to mmo veterans and is probably LEAST mmorpg EVER... you cannot name ONE thing that wasn't already in another mmo. They should thank millions sold on daiblo and SC series to sell this crap to people who think its fun till 60 then realize they can't do crap because it's a entire lie of game.

Thanks for your review. And this game isnt a rip off of Warhammer. It is a rip off of *gasp* Warcraft.
But the game came out a year and a half ago. Lots of information everywhere on what kind of game it is.
It is a simple MMO, it's obvious, but it's entertaining. And appeals to casuals more than any MMO on the planet.
And one thing that wasn't in another MMO? Michael Jackson dances.
And many people still enjoy it at 60. Shouldnt try to pass that one off as fact.
EDIT: Damn WoW must have traumatized you or your kid or something, I sense alot of anger http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/78350/page/4 You turned a Vanguard Beta thread into a WoW bash thread.
These kind of posts are really getting annoying now.
Like the game? Play it.
Dont like the game? Dont play it.
Really, it's that simple.
And grinseal, please do some research before you make a flaming post.
P.S.
I like that comparison
Flych - 70 Blood Elf Retribution Paladin - Tarren Mill (EU)
Mediocre - 70 Undead Discipline Priest - Tarren Mill (EU)
@Grinseal....wow has +6 000 000 players and alot of them are +30y..so stfu and go mind ur own bussines and go play Halo or solitare
So, let me get this straight... you're saying that just because your daughter enjoys the game it is crap?
Pointless thread.
Edit: Its pointless coming to a forum, especially a WoW forum, and complaining about the game. All youre gonna do is get flamed. I dont see why people think they need to do this
Ye i agree with ur view ... Pointless, even my brother loves playin' it, hes 25...
So stfu plz and go bother some other game, like MU
Burn baby burn.
Professor Hubert Farnsworth - That question is less stupid but, you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.
Shadowbane
SWG
DAOC
UO
None of which are based on raiding. In fact DAOC made servers to get rid of the raiding they added, and they nerfed it into group portions.
could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?
um, AO?
um, AO?
um, never played it. does it have instanced raids?

AO was the first to have instances. Way before "War"craft.

is that a yes or a no? instanced raids? or just instanced random dungeons?

what difference does it make what they used instances for? There must be hundreds of different things you can use instances for, instance is instance and thats it.
I'm not sure who had them first. But the amount of people that can enter an instance has no bearing on the issue as the developer can very very easily change the amount of people allowed inside at anytime.
Asking about instances and changing your question is just a cop out.
I'll give you it if it will make you feel better, congrats Blizzard on learning how to erase the <insert group number here> and typing in 40 in the configuration files, Bravo.
"Raiding" is just a big group.

He's doing that because he won't stop until he finds something, no matter how insignificant it is. OMG 5 party memebers instead of 8, Revolution!

did/does ao have raids? are those raids instanced?
the super genius that acts like i'm a fanboi should read some of my posts and then take a sign and sit in the corner.
i have never played ao. so, how would i know if they instanced raids or if they have raids? did i not STATE i have never played ao?
i'm sorry if i'm not speaking at the lowest common denominator level, i'm not at work, therefore it's not a requirement that i lower myself to *total moron* status in order to communicate with other supposed sentients.

i think i said i've never played ao. so when someone said they had instances, i then asked about instanced raids. i know eq introduced the atrocity that is a raid to the online world. i think that wow may be the first group of geniuses to refine upon said atrocity to bring it to new levels of stupidity.
if you can't see the difference between the two, um, welcome to your first mmo?
please though, all of you just be as hostile as possible and show your online testosterone, you're really impressing everyone with all the angry posts from all the angry people in this thread.

Yes, for god's sakes, AO had/has instanced raids. Happy now?
And they're right, an instance is an instance. The number of players doesn't mean squat.
Hack I can't remember for sure but I think even EQ had instanced raids before WOW.
Raiding games are becoming a thing of the past?? Ooookay ... Earth to Damian, come in please ...
edited to add: i asked simple yes/no questions in order to try to find something wow was original with. couldn't get a yes/no answer but got flamed instead? hmm..
so by all instances being alike. that means all instances scale mob number/toughness (number of normal, LTs and bosses) based upon the difficulty slider and number of players in said instance's group? or does it mean that they all require a good 40 players to complete and take 8+ hours to complete each individual instance?
i mean, since all instances are exactly alike, which exactly alike are we talking about here?
so how many people are foaming at the mouth to go play the next raiding game that comes out? let's limit it to the crowd that has a significant other and a job... this eliminates little kids, the perpetually jobless, and basement dwellers.
i see lots of games coming out with expansions/changes that actually give players more sandbox options. i see UO pushing ten years and still coming out with new releases (no half a day long raids there). i see tons of people i know quitting games and flaming the devs on the departure questionnaires because of the stupidity and boring-ness of raids. earth to flamer, keep your raid games, you and the munchkin crowd can love them till the cows come home.

@ damian7 go to mmogchart.com and then say if the raiding games are past
