Graphics aren't bad but they're above some of the lower quality F2P games out there. Lack of music ingame, and the sound effects are average. Camera can be a bit iffy as can the controls. Been caught on few things that I shouldn't have while running around that force me to turn or step back to go around. The skill system seems alright from what I've experienced, although there's that huge issue (to me) in the ice world with players leaving their characters using skills on the dummies stationed there for hours on end to level up their skills. Gameplay is standard fare with quests that don't draw any personal interest into the world. I found myself skipping what the NPCs were saying just so I could get the objective and be on with it. Up to this point leveling has been very easy but I imagine the grind kicks in at higher levels like other Korean MMOs. Overall it's a decent game but I for one won't be willing to pay for this game once beta draws to a close. The content just seems sorta lifeless and I see the fun I'm having ending before too long.

    And of course, IMO.

Sound effects could be better..more meatier hits ( if you get my meaning)
Quests are standard run here kill that come back get reward..which is a good thing imho..after L2 i'm fed up with vague quest locations...if i'm going to do a quest , then dammit let me :p.
Skill/Xp/ingame currency/drops from what i have seen it's all pretty standard..as you know all Mmorpgs like to add a spin on previous offerings..in the end though it all boils down to you..ie: if you have the time to play and grind you'll reap the rewards.
Everytime a new mmorpg comes out you hear "OMG GRIND FEST !! " but how else do you expect to level ? players who moan about grinding are kidding themselves ..it's like having a penalty shootout can you think of a better way to settle it ?
There will always be "Hardcore" and "Casual" Gamers who play the same Mmorpgs , each having their own personal style of play.
Conlcusion..if the monthly fee is agreeable i'd play it.

    please read my link

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grind_(gaming)

there are other ways to level aside from grinding, when you are killing the same monster over and over to get one item, and just getting bored, then your grinding.
when your doing anything within an mmorpg that your not that very moment enjoying, then you are partaking in a grind.

some of the more recent high quality mmorpgs have alot less of a grind.
cabal online does have a grind, not as bad as some, but its stil very much there.

it comes down to player involvement and also the individual player, if your motivated by the game to just play and have fun. and your never bored? your not grinding.

but someone else could be doing what your doing and be thinking 'jeeze this is boring when does something fun happen'
    then they are grinding.

pretty much with city of villains for me at the moment, i'm having fun, i'm not thinking 'geeze gotta get to next level so i can do this, and then after that i gotta get to this level to get that'
i'm more along the lines of 'wheee blow this up, blow that up, haha cant hurt me!' ect.

so i dont think grinding is unavoidable.

    monthly fee? meh..
five bucks a month at most, certinaly not 15.

Yes each game has it's own way of disguising " Grind " factor.

Some through quests , others repetitive killing..but to progress to the conclusion of any mmorpg takes real life time and effort.

Grinding is the core of most Mmorpgs...Any game will become stale and boring eventually.

I have yet to play a mmorpg that does not rely on experiance gained through killing/quests to gain higher levels/skills.

As i have said already..every player has thier own view on what makes a Mmorpg bad/good/great...you just can't please everyone.

Just cuse I said I rather pay for RS don't mean you all gotta write crap about what you like and what you dont, not many people care what you say, its just what you think as a comment so far in the game.

according to my vote 1/3 of the people that read this post are onions and have no opinion, as far as I know onions don't play games and can't even reach the ON button.

Its not going to be f2p its gonna be pvp and i think cabal is just crap.. i mean they have 3 continents with so little material I mean you would get bored with this beta in less then a week when you hit 50 in 3 days

Cabal Online is great. I started playing yesterday and I already got to lvl 18. I know it's not hard for us power levelers but hell, I couldn't just logout. It's such an interesting mmorpg. The quests, the warp system, the timed instances, the items, the combo system, the stat system! Damn, it rocks! Obviously the beta is full of bugs but obviously they will be fixed in the near future. I will definately buy it and pay the montly fee if there's one.
I've played loads of mmorpgs and this is one of those I can say it's pretty damn good!

    Go go cabal.

the game is great, but it needs some improvement. they have not yet unlocked the Motorcycle Mounts, and the Guns for the archers. However, the combo moves are still great if you have the combo start and lots of moves.

the quest system is great because there are always loads of quests to do in the early levels which is really good, these quests will take you to the next level without too much grinding involved. I wouldn't P2P this game either because it just isn't worth it, F2P would be worth it because this game isn't exactly have very advanced graphics and gameplay, you just press buttons in this game to cast spells and attack can be automatic.

its pathetic its all solo pve

  • MiNaAuMiNaAu Member Posts: 382
Yeah I agree, there isn't much need to partying because solo is quite easy already and not many people do PvP or PK so it's a bit boring and ordinary at times but PvP is exciting when someone finally agrees to duel against you, it's usually the wizards that win.

I've been playing this game for a few days now, i'll give my thoughts.

Both positive and negative in no particular order

The camera angle on this game---Driving me f'in nuts, your options for angles are very limited.

I feel very confined in the game. It's closed beta (so less people)and you cant quest anywhere without being surrounded by other player.(maybe this will change when the level limit changes to 150)

I like the time limit dungeons, though each seem to be far too easy. Also if there is a maze inside the dungeon the camera angle can REALLY be annoying.

PVP servers seem to be all PK all the time. Hordes of level 50's with nothing to do but kill anyone low level. Non pvp server are too non pvp, lol.

Playing yesterday i was hitting huge lag spikes each causing me to die(most pve battles seem to be very abrupt, hit #5,4,3,2 and the battle is over. maybe an hp pot if i'm not paying attention)Gets a little interesting if 3 or more mobs come at once

Not alot of weapon and armor choices atm, hopefully this will change as it gets closer to open beta. Really hate when everyone looks the same in game.

Havent hit any bugs yet so i guess they did their job in alpha.

I'll keep up with it and try to keep you all updated.

  • MiNaAuMiNaAu Member Posts: 382
I think it says that you can change the camera angle at higher levels so that you can see the sky, the combat, well there isn't much to it, it's just pressing a few buttons and the battle is over in seconds! PvP is like that as well.

so fare i thnk its a good game but i still think that it needs some improving on. since the game is still in closed beta testing it obviously needs improvment. they really need to increase the amount of damage you do without using skills hitting suck low numbers is pretty useless. also WHERE R THE BOWS, archers in the game are considered to be magic. you dont equip a bow u summon it? whats up with that. well anyways thats my opioion on this game as it stands right now

So Cabal Online is in closed beta now (correct me if I'm wrong)? Hows the game doing? I haven't played for a while because I've been busy but could you just put me up to date in your views and so on.
  • RanddRandd Member Posts: 409
The first character i made was a knight, i took alot of damage and dished about slightly more that i recieved. I tried making a rogue...if i was going to play this game i would be crying nerf, lol. Does tons more damage doesnt get hit nearly as hard as a knight. Small imbalance, but compared to the rest of the problems the game has it's a minor point. Overall, i doubt i'd play this anymore if it were free and i was literally dying of boredom

A lot of people deny this. Look at the menu buttons in WoW, and in CABAL Online (the ones on the bottom right). The order is the exact same, character sheet, spells/skills, (see note 2), quests, friends/ignore list, map, menu, help. Then above that is the experiance bar, they had the nerve to even copy the "bars" there are 20 bars for CABAL Online also... then there is the skill bar, same ammount of skill bars as WoW and same ammount of buttons, which isnt that unusual for an MMO, so they can have that ONE. It's the exact same, a lot of people also say every mmog is the same... what ones have the same menu buttons? Please give me a title... there are NO OTHERS.
When you party, its the same interface as WoW. Your status on the top left is the same, and in the same place. Your "target" is a little different, hardly, and in the more centered than WoW but very very close. Then theres the minimap, its in the same place and looks EXACTLY like WoW's. Some other things they copies, the "Honor System."
Anyways this is stupid that you people say im wrong. Also that you people say all other MMOGs are like that, GIVE ME TITLES. I have played many many mmogs... and I never argue about them but this one crossed the line.

note 2, CABAL Online was smart enough not to copy the "backpack" idea. so they replaced this one with inventory.

There will always be rips offs between games, try compairing Everquest 2 and WoW...

Both have a savanna area containing an area called 'Crossroads'

One has an area called Wailing Caves the other.....Wailing Caverns......

    And other 'similarities'

Never even heard about the beta ,but i prolly couldn't get in anyhow. Was it beta to asians only?

What i am really interested in is the fact some of you mentioned lots of quests? Are these well put together quests? Some to attain armour/weapons/items?or are these the same old same old korean type quests?kill 30 tigers then return to npc.

Are these quests EARNED by each player? or are they lame like some games do ,where high level players can basically hold your hand through it?Do these quests take alot of thinking and skill to finish?

The biggest concern i have in ALL games i consider now is>>>Does this game look like another botters haven?are players who bot to level 50 in 2 weeks gonna ruin the whole game economy or through PVP or drops?or is this game done in a way that botting won't be a FACTOR?

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

The beta was for Europeans only, of course some good proxying .. ;) could get you in. All foreign ip's banned.

The game is a lot of quests, but most other games have only 1 "kill 50 tigers, and come back to me" per level. This game uses the same quest concept, along with others BUT you get 5+ quests per level to do, they all range from killing x creatures, killing x creatures and bring back y items, talk to X npc, etc...

This game seems to be more concerned about PvP. Botting..well, this game offers a different type of grind, a quest grind. You get lots and lots of quests that can be completed anywhere from 5-60 minutes. Basically, you grind while completing quests.

In my closed beta expierence, I got to lvl 50 in a week. I played about 9-12 hours a day.
