well you would think that if a new expansion is comming that they would have announced it at E3. I dunno... When they lay out a publish / chapter plab and then deviate from it along with a lack of dev response then that tells me something is comming. Something more than the expertise system and target lock. Just think back to when the NGE was announced and it was stated that it had been in development for more that a year. I would almost guarentee there is some team or crew of devs that have been working on something to inject some sort of live into this game. It was probaly part of thier process all along but they probaly didnt think that would have to do it every 6-8 months. It shows what state the games is in.
Bria has been ready for restuss phase 2 for a while now. They know it will bomb big time if they push that out live to Bria. I am very anxious to hear what comes out of the summit later this week. You know restuss and lag are going to be a huge topic. I know there have been a ton of rumors the last few weeks which most have been hoax but man I just feel like something is comming.

It's not a very good battlefield, it's used more for lava flea grinding than fighting, and when the event happened, two servers blew up instead of Restuss.
Let's not get our hopes up for any more expansions. At the end of the year 'Star Wars Galaxies Complete' is set to be published - presumably with all the expansions in one box. Since that's the case I assume that no more expansions are envisaged for the game. Basically, I think what's going to happen is that they'll do the latest profession revamp, then fix some bugs, then the dev team will move on to other things.

I was just on sonys web site and their dev tracker is full of recent posts from devs and community staff... What did you mean when you said no one has seen them?
Uhm, yes, the dev tracker is 'full' of stuff from the devs, but if you look in the threads you'll see that the devs name appears in the tracker because they replied to or started the thread and there's been next to nothing from them (bar very pat 'restuss rox' stuff) in nearly two weeks. The reason the dates on the threads are current is because that's the date of the last reply..generally from a player.
You can discount Pex's posts as he'd be putting event follow ups and notices out even if he was preserved in carbonite and locked in a deeep dark dungeon somewhere. Virrago and Nadias posts are, by and large, locks.
V has been posted other stuff recently, but that's been restuss related notices mostly.
Click on one of the devs names in the tracker, then call up 'find all posts' and see when they actually posted last.

I hate the SOE Dev team and their lack of vision as much as anyone, but it is the summer. And I can think of a lot beter places to spend a vacation besides Dallas or San Diego.
Of course a well managed office would have somebody able to step in for the vacationing staff member so that goals are able to be met. Just take it as a little more proof that the Dev team for SWG is less than a skeleton of what it should be.

There are only a couple devs who post , Senior members get vacation time . Interns , and fresh hires usually don't. I am quite sure there are staff working .

It's not broken, it's not meant to automatically happen. It's up to the devs to manually do it.
Of course there were the few servers who had the announcement (call to arms) and then no announcement that the actualy phase III was begining to cut down on lag so the servers would not crash...
And Obraik... We can argue as much as we want.. I see SWG as a broken game... You dont.. So I can give you as many arguements that it is broken as you can tell me its not.. So we wont go down that road.. To each thier own...
For the record though we are on 3+ years and are still trying to fix / balance the professions... That says something... Even more so now that they are down to 7..

All the servers had a Call to Arms announcement the day before it happened. No time was give though, but some people on Chilastra placed merchant droids in Restuss announcing it was happening at 8pm EST. Either way, there was a more then decent turnout with at least 200 people at the event. I think I read that Bloodfin, one of the ones that crashed had around 300 at the event so the numbers were close.
If the restuss eventwas going that well then a LEC producer wouldnt of needed to pop into a dev forum to appologize and announce they are trying to fix the problem... Since we want to keep it to restuss... Check the forums and you will seee people screaming about either missing the event becuase it was not announced through the system message (like they did for the inital ones - and you cant tell me they forgot.. They did this to cut down on players being there to cut down on lag) or they are screaming they want to do the event again becauyse it was so fubared (with the devs stating they cant do that)...
Also as a side note people were complaining because of the Title explot that was going on... So theey removed ALL the elder titles, and wont give them back to the elder players who earned them.. They are stating they cant verify if a player had a title or not... Then Helios stated they dont have the code anymore to give the titles... How can they not have the code anymore when I still have my elder titles?

The LEC producer came in inrelation to the Ahazi and Bloodfin servers. They developed a fix that they put in before they did anymore of the events. It seemed to work because there was very little in the way of complaints on the forums about the next batch of servers compared to the first batch. None of those servers crashed, and many of them weren't that far off the populations Ahazi and Bloodfin saw at their events. Don't forget, the 1 hour battle is only a small part of the whole Restuss thing.
As for the whole titles issue, the only ones that were removed were the old FRS titles. You still have Elder Pistoleer, Creature Handler, Smuggler, etc if you earnt them pre-NGE.

Well after they re-assured everyone over and over again about how lag would not be an issue at all I think it's only fair to say they screwed the pooch with it. Lag is still an issue with it and will always be an issue with it. Yes they fixed it to a degree but it will never be what they claimed they could make it, as usual.
However I wouldn't say it's "broke like no other".

It wouldn't be as much so for me either probably if they hadn't tried to make the combat more "real time" with the NGE targetting system. I have tolerated lag in alot of raids and such, it's just part of the territory but when you are large scale pvp'ing and you have to maintain your target and fire while targetting him I have a great deal of issue with that and I don't understand how anyone couldn't.
However that isn't the point, the point was yet again they promised up and down this wouldn't be the case and yet again they have proven they can always manage to fall well short of their mark. So I can't really give them any credit for the accomplishment since they didn't even meet the expectations they created on their own for it.

Out of curiosity how come you are so quick to settle? A Starwars MMO, Just because of name alone, should be of the highest quality.. There should be (IMO) no bugs or at the very least very very minor ones. Everything should be complete, and balanced, and we should ahve 70 devs working on nothing more than adding content and expanding the story arcs of the game.. We dont hvae any of this.. I am just curious why you are so quick to defend a game that is, imo, 30% complete....

For a start, I don't play it because it's Star Wars. As I've mentioned previously, SWG is what got me interested in Star Wars in the first place, before that I had nothing to do with it
The game provides me with enough fun that I don't feel any need to look for anything "better" and the people I know in game are great. Why fix what ain't broke? :P I defend the game because when I enjoy/like something/someone I feel a sense of loyalty towards it...if that makes sense. Kinda like being patriotic to your country I guess.

And what exactly has set the presidence for this high quality you are speaking of? I can't think of a thing in the last 5 years that LEC has done that screams of high quality.

The fact its Starwars... That George Lucas sets high standards for what he does.. I guess thats my opinion... I just figured that a Starwars game should be of a higher standard than most others... The game should be complete before release...

Lucas Arts in general has taken on a reputation for putting out mediocre titles on the only thing they can manage to sell due to holding the only Star Wars rights in the world and SWG is just another example of their lack of concern for their players and fans and far more concern for sales numbers.

actually they're busy working on other SOE projects. But dont worry, LA is told theyre still being used for SWG.

I have to completely disagree. I don't feel George Lucas has done anything of quality lately except milk his fans all he can to feed his ego. Lucas Arts in general has taken on a reputation for putting out mediocre titles on the only thing they can manage to sell due to holding the only Star Wars rights in the world and SWG is just another example of their lack of concern for their players and fans and far more concern for sales numbers.

Correct.. My main point was that it should of went out being the highest quality... Not the mediocre that is going out... Its bugged to hell, content sucks, and they are still working on the core professions after 3 years.. How is the game NOT bugged all to hell?
Having access to a billion $ IP - Billions of dollars..
Having access to a massive fan base of said IP - Even more Billons...
Singly handedly alienating them due to stupidity - Priceless.
If I am correct and you agree that LEC can't put out anything of this extremely high quality we are talking about then why would you expect SWG to be any better then anything else Lucas or his comapanies put out?
