honestly dude , whos opinion is not made up from type of media, unless you are there, all your opinion can be based on is, news, heresay, newspapers, and blogs like this, thats why i stated what i did in my earlier post, it has all become background hiss, the ''norm'' so to say whenever you hear anything about mid-east,what else is there too do but throw yer arms up and say well wtf people, ok, go ahead and kill eachother, or be friends, im living my own life now.

Well.....then tell the Hezbollah (sp) to stop placing their missiles on top of civilian apartment buildings and grow some chest hair and place them in military installations.
And tell the Lebonese government to controll their extremist groups. Allowing groups to place missiles on top of restaurants and apartment buildings isn't my idea of a strong and stable government
When you said this, Enigma, I couldn't help but be reminded of that interview they aired yesterday with a Lebanese Hezbolli (or are the Hezbollhists...I dunno). I couldn't help chuckle when he said "look at these buildings the Israeli planes have blown up, hiding way up in the sky. What we want is to fight face by face! Come fight us face by face!"
Meanwhile, Israel moves troops in last night (our time). Guess he's going to get his "face by face" wish.
er... they'll probably have kevlar, superror weaponry, advanced training, tanks, coordinated chopper / ground support, radar, night vision goggles.... the element of suprise... their enemies will probably be hungry, or thirsty because of the devastation to infrastructure, they've been cut off from the outside world because their airways have been demolished... um...?

I know you guys like to get your "truth" from the governments version of things, but if you really want to know the truth Israel has been the agressor for many many years, they've stolen land, killed innocent people, and dominated that region brutally for a long time, do some research instead of just believing what your told to believe.

Smarten the fu<k up, Israel has captured and killed many people, they don't even need to capture people, shooting children throwing stones with assault rifles is quite common.
my country is currently supporting israel in what it's doing, because it also supported israels creation in the first place....

i suppose whether or not an action is just has relatively little to do with whether it's my countrymen being kidnapped or my 'enemies' because the importance is the motivation behind the actions, not necessarily the action or the relationship i have with those who are acting or who are acted upon.

i dont necessarily desire violence or think it's a great solution to problems.
i dont think the actions on either side are really good...
but as long as israel sits on land that's stolen, and pretends it's ok because god loves them more and kills their enemies...
the palestinians actions will always be more just than israels for this reason alone.

ultimately, none of us really want peace in the middle east. what we really want is to believe that our country, our values, our way of life is best, and always right.
it's not a working jet propulsion engine we want, it's the belief that the guidebook to making one is correct, the belief that our beliefs themselves are infallible.

First off - Lebanon Hezballa soldiers crossed national border and attacked Israel on its teritory killing 4 and kidnaping 2 soldiers ( and we all know what happens with people terorist organization capture - live beheading - thats right ) this should be begining of your statement...
Now in every country in the world - And yours too , dear reader and also OP - THIS WOULD BE CONSIDERED ACT OF OPEN WAR DECLARATION.

the kidnappings only justify war because israel wants to go to war, the same way human rights abuses arent really violations of human rights when the profit made off those violations is substantial enough.
we have thousands of different conflicting values that we employ to justify our actions in all times and places. this is how you can be right about everything even when our actions contradict our values.
example- i believe i am both moral and efficient. but to be efficient i must be immoral and employ children for 120 hours + work weeks.
so i boast my need for efficiency and stuff morality under the table.
when i want to start a war for oil i say it's for iraqi freedom. it's the moral thing to do.
both values conflict with each other, but i successfuly employ both to get what i want when i want it without any regrets.
