They are required to meet certain goals in order to maintain the license for SWG2.
Which they have already spent, are currently spending, and have planned a large budget to do.

The whole problem with ALL of it:  SWG reborn, SWG2, SOE and LA:  both companies suck from a player perspective...they do not want to maintain sandboxes, they are too much for both companies.  Especially with an IP such as Star Wars.  What we need is a good Verant, or Mythic, or Bioware, or bla bla bla...how many of those are not owned now.

    Depressing...

I won't post his Forum Name here, since I'm sure one of our Resident Fanboi's would send TH/Garva a PM with it, resulting in a Perma Ban. He may already be Banned, but if he's not, he may post again.

I'm Perma Banned and not subbed anyway, but I had a Friend riding out a Year Prepaid Sub send him a PM for me. I'll let you know what I hear.

I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

    In fact, forget the SWG!!!!

Yup, They never had a clue what to do with CH

Yup, Tk was never star warsy to them

Yup, They didnt feel that BE had any place in the game, it was not Iconic.

So that info on the stratics site could be more then just bad info.

Members of the Jedi Community and all SWG players.
I know this post may get flamed, but it is only expected. There have been many rumors around the forums, but my source is a bit more than a rumor. I have been a member of the Jedi Community for a long while, and a member of SWG since the beginning. What I am about to disclose to you is top secret SOE stuff so to speak.
I have a friend whose uncle is a SOE employee. (I would give his name here, but I was advised not to because I do not wish to jepordize that individuals job. Anyways, I told my friend to ask his Uncle "What is going on with jedi recently, and why all the nerfing and changes?" He did, indeed ask him, and the response was shocking. I cancelled my account immediately after hearing this. I am not advising you to do this, but since the SWG Community Relations, and Devs will not answer all of these issues, I felt obligated to inform the community of my disturbing findings.
    Here we go........

1.- Jedi are being phased into a regular profession, that will be selectable from the beginning of the game. This is the reason so many nerfs appear to be hitting jedi recently. They are attempting to slowly transition jedi into a normal class. They have not and will not inform the community about this, because it will enrage the vets. But they are hoping to keep everyone quiet while they work on this. They are also counting on the fact that more and more players will be influenced to buy the game, if jedi are immediately selectable. The bottom line is their numbers show that more players have quit the game because they were lazy and didnt want to work for jedi, as opposed to players who complain about jedi, but will not quit. They are hoping that subscription rates will soar if Jedi are immediately selectable, because jedi is the reason most players buy this game. This is also the reason why pearls/ FRS have been removed, so that vets will slowly become accustomed to being converted, and hopefully stay with the game.
2.- All melee classes are being removed. The bottom line is that SOE feels that melee professions do not appear in the movies, and they will remove them from the game. The current status of Ranged professions being dominate is all in their grand scheme of things. They are hoping that most melee players will switch their templates to Ranged now, so that when they eliminate all melee, there wont be enough of them left to cause an uproar. Therfore everyone in game will be A.- A jedi B.- Ranged C.- Crafter, Entertainer, or other. All remaining melee players will be given a respec period.
3.- All grinding is going to be removed. All leveling will soon be quest based and not grinding. Example: You will need to run to a trainer, get missions from him, he will teach you a skill box, back to step one. They are hoping that this will keep the playerbase more nethralled with the game, and get the quest based system they have always wanted.
Now the reason this may all seem far fetched to you, is because so many people on these forums cry wolf, and start rumors. but I assure you, this is the reason we dont get the responses we are looking for. Alot of people complained about the CU, but once they played it, they became adjusted and despite their complaints they still stayed subscribed. If they announced all this now, it would cause mass mahem and anger, so they will keep it quiet until it goes live, and then we are stuck with a "Like it or leave it" option. And the bottom line is (it has been proven) we will still play it.
Also, cancelled jedi accounts are a given in this, but look at it from the outside, ALOT of new players will also spawn out of this mess, because jedi will be made readily available to them.

I did not get any info on the Jedi vs. BH situation, or other important issues, but they did make it clear that there will be no more alpha classes in this game. Also do not shoot the OP, or myself. He is a messenger for me (since my account was banned) and I am a messenger from another, and I simply feel obligated to inform you all.
So if you flame me, that is fine. I am not a troll nor a rumor starter, and it is your choice alone on what you want to believe. I am simply warning you all that this will come to pass.

Well, this persons Alt Account (the one he used to confim the info above) just posted a warning that another combat system was being developed for SWG that is based on faster Pre-CU combat, and the Old Profession system is being revamped. It was deleted in minutes, before I could even read it all. Maybe ths individual decided to cause trouble for no reason, but I have a BAD (or is it giddy) feeling about this. And considering the SWG:Complete box set comes out on the SAME DAY as the NGE, well....

I tried to Clicky it before C/P'ing it, so if anyone out there copied the text, could you let me know? TY...

this reminds me of the post i made back in late Oct. 05 that got my elder forum account perma banned.

Think the post lasted all of 4 minutes and then the perma smack came down.

I will admit to begging Virrago for my access back, in mid-Feb via my alt account forum....but ya knnow....I was only wrong about one thing.   They kept Space as it was.  So I batted .750 on it in October.

Oh you know that guy who posted about the changes. He said that things were being nerfed slowly so people could get used to the changes before the NGE hit. Thats prolyl why they never did anything about the jedi afking the Ryatt trials.

Which also makes me wonder. Maybe some things they are adding now are to ease us into a NGE #2. Like the target lock. Expertise System etc.

Maybe thats why (like when flawless pearsl didnt drop) they are not saying anything regarding saber animations. Because things are gonna change?

Bah now look what u got me doing. I'm making my own conspiracy theories...god help me.

It is intresting... heres a question.. How many times does LEC think SOE can pull the wool over the eyes of the consumer? I would love to get a sandbox style game like we had in the begining, or even the CU with the shit fixed... They are adding back elements of both left and right..

I can see why they dont just admit they are wrong, being  in their minds they would loose credibility (Its easier to live in denial and spin it to your benefiet than be in reality and have to face the facts)...

I jut dont think the game can undergo another NGE style enhancement without loosing whats left of the playerbase... There are tons of people who wouldnt most likely NOT go back jsut because its SOE, and also 6 months down the road its likely another combat upgrade would come of it. The kiddies (and thats my opinion) who love the uber leet crap now will get pissed becuase they would have to go back to earning stuff, instead of it being given to them...

Only so many times you can make these changes before people jsut loose intrest and go elsewhere...

Sadly, If there is no CH, TK, and BE - I'm still not in.

BTW - notice that the prof list does not say anything about mixing skills from different trees.  The absolute greatest thing about pre-cu, and the worst thing about nge.

I'm Perma Banned and not subbed anyway, but I had a Friend riding out a Year Prepaid Sub send him a PM for me. I'll let you know what I hear.

Can you get PMs if your banned?

It's going to a Friend who doesn't post much, therefor isn't banned yet.... He'll relay any responses...

I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

    In fact, forget the SWG!!!!

    Howdy

I don't want to put a downer on things but, what is the point bringing back some professions when the actual core system by my gutt feeling will still be the same. I.E. every thing will be dictated by levels, lack of diversity to do what you want, crafting system still dumbed down and also hardly any diversity availble in the items people can craft for example every ones armor has exactly the same stats which can be attained so easily even if you don't have the same resources. Thats just a few things, they need to address the actual little things people forget because if they don't all this is, is the NGE with some stuff added to it. Think of it as a 40 year old lap dancer who has had a bit of "nip & tuck" so she can carry on dancing just that bit longer.
