I am sorry...
I am sorry for being a Hardcore PVPer.
I am sorry for being two levels over you.
I am sorry for pretending to help you kill that mob for the 200th time.
I am sorry for killing you.
I am sorry I chased you down when you ran.
I am sorry I took your sword; then when you came back,
I am sorry I took your boots.
Now you're shoeless and defenseless, I am sorry.
I am sorry I do not like killing 10 million rats.
I am sorry I do not like killing 20 million kobolds.
I am sorry I like to hunt.
I am sorry I do not like knowing what my prey is going to do next.
I am sorry I do not like knowing exactly what equipment I need when I go out.
I am sorry I do not like doing the same thing in an un-ending repetion.
I am sorry for looking like a horrible person because of what I think is fun.
I am sorry for your complaining about what I find fun.
Now I don't have anywhere to go because developers are afraid to make games where people complain, I am sorry.
I am sorry...
I am sorry that I am a Hardcore PVPer.

I'm sorry that most people don't like being victims in your playstyle, so choose to play games that don't let you beat them up and take their stuff, leaving low numbers in your kind of game, leading developers not to make more.
Amazing how much the 'hardcore' crowd whines and cries that people don't want to play with them. Didn't you learn in elementary school that if you don't play nice with other people, they don't want to play with you?
*shrug* to each his own, but at least know the lingo.
I'm sorry that you're still breathing.
Amazing how your the one whining here. What an aggressive post.
So many flames in this thread. It saddens me to see a world so twisted.

eh, your a hardcore pker, theres a huge huge difference between pvp and pk. *shrug* to each his own, but at least know the lingo.
I am a PKer, but not a greifer. There is a difference.
I like games that are open to PVP Wars. But, only 1 gives me that right now. PVP Wars REALLY give me a reason to PK, becuase not only do I have an incentive of drops to PK but I have a REASON to.

Bah, I haven't been on this board for more than a couple of days and all these whining, spineless bit**es are already getting on my nerves. What passes for hardcore PvPers on these boards is just plain laughable. There is not a true PvPer among you. From what I've read on these boards it seems to me to be just alot of griefers who don't fit in on PvP games like planetside or any FPS because you lack skill and would get raped. Like many posters have pointed out there where alot of MMOs that kept the PvP-server along with their new PvE-servers and it didn't work out because you where no PvPers just a bunch of lameass griefers. Join Planetside or any good FPS and if you manage get a rep whithout resorting to exploits the yes you are a true PvPer. Having said that I wouldn't want any of you whiny ass cowards in my squad in any PvP-game.

My question is... How do you get from the first thing I quoted to answer it with the second? Its not logical its certainly not 1+1=2.
Perhaps it makes sense if you were new to gaming or never saw the vast arguements of carebare vs. pvp vs. pk.
I agree there is flaming on both sides of that arguement but seriously step back and take a breath.
In the north american market (anyway) hardcore pvp or pk has very little market. So I guess I don't see how saying there are not many leading devs making that type of game is a whine. At this point in time its a fact.
Obviously there is a large market it for it in Korea and other parts of Asia.
I learned to pvp in UO... I was more of an "anti" as they called us then than anything. Never chased a miner down to backshoot him. Tho I saw plenty of that.
I saw plenty of great "pvp" action in the old days even when it was more guilds at war than random.
So in my opinion PvP can be a great thing in a game.. and if done right perhaps many people that normally wouldn't do it.. would. Thus there could be more market share.
However, the truth from what I have seen in the past. Is there are more people who want to inflict their play style on others... than actually want a "challenge".
Of course that same thing happens in PvE games.
Which is why I still fondly remember UO. I mean when I actually gave in and played EQ with some friends. Everytime someone would jump on a mob we had camped for days...
I wanted to kill them and loot their stuff.
/shrugs
Actually no idea why I even posted... I just think that PvP can be done in a game and be enjoyable.
and..
I totally agree with:
"I'm sorry that most people don't like being victims in your playstyle, so choose to play games that don't let you beat them up and take their stuff, leaving low numbers in your kind of game, leading developers not to make more."
If there had been less people like that... Then people that actually enjoy PvP and a "challenge" would have more games to choose from.
How is that a whine or a flame?
Based on gaming history and the current and upcoming games... it seems pretty much the truth.

No Userbar here, sorry to disappoint.
I play Wolfienstien: Enemy Territory everyday because there is no game for me right now.
I am no griefer. I will kill someone lower level than me, but I will not look for them. The only reason I would is because I see them and want to chase them down, lol. I usually leave their stuff and after I kill them I keep going on with what I was doing.
I PK/PVP because I like the challenge. Not, because I am some skinny little computer geek who needs to get his rocks off because he feel inadequate with the female species. :-P Well..... that's only half right. I am a skinny computer geek, but I do well IRL and with females. lol

Its okay Snakey, I'm with you on this. What you say is totally true in that beggining post. Its just right now Ive been really beaten up from all the rabid anti-PvP'rs in the other thread. I would argue with you, but Im recovering at the moment.
I will be with you shortly...that is, if they dont run over to my house and kill me in my sleep

True, but they could also work in player skills/spells to conceal this too...like illusion spells, or disguise. The trouble is that designers don't want to do alot of thinking, hehe.

Except Lineage has the Grind that Snakey doesn't like (nor do most people). But I did love the fact that you could be facing a lvl 50 or a level 30... and better yet I liked the fact that they didn't know what level you were. More than once I had a chinese farmer look me up and down trying to decide if he wanted to go red or not. That was the only game I ever bought in game gold for and I had what was probably one of the best staffs at the time. I played in constant fear that I would get ganked and lose it.

Why so? they have the things you asked for in your post, and heck, the fights are actually fair for once!
