Other games also get content added to the game. Some games even have free content expansions like Eve online.
    Try again.

I find WoW really boring. There is little freedom to choose what I want to do and it's all grind, grind, grind. If you like grind then I suppose you will never be bored.

The grind and repetitiveness of World of Warcraft makes Lineage 2 look like a school for 2 year olds.

I've left and will never go back and could write essays on the things I don't like about WoW but...

    1. I still remember when I first started playing how amazing the visuals were. Not the graphics, but the artwork. And the music too. On a purely cosmetic level it was stunning. Like I'd go into a new zone and just stand there and look around. It had such grandeur.

    2. But if you want a more cynical answer as to why everyone is so obsessed with WoW, well there's advertising. I just about fell out of my chair the first time I saw WoW advertised on TV, and then at the movies. And the ads were good - I imagine they drew in a lot of people who might not otherwise have tried an MMO.

    3. I can't think of a third - I honestly don't like the game that much :P

Guild Wars > World Of Warcraft

    1. Guild Wars has no subscription fees
    2. Guild Wars has in-depth and relatively complex PvP mechanic. WoW battleground is poorly done.
    3. Guild Wars has little or no grind, WoW has too much grinds (carrot in a stick)

    Case Closed.

Yeah at lvl 60 everybody looks the same, its like you have a ranger and a mage that both look the same, at least thats what Ive seen in pics, so from what Ive seen, blizzard has a serious lack in creativity.

First and most importantly, there are no rangers in WoW.

Second there are several different types of endgame gear for each class. Hunter armor, for example, has 7 different sets of armor gained from Battlegrounds, 4 sets of looted, and a few of those looted sets can be turned into other sets through quests. The differences in these sets of armor is dependant on what your planning on doing and what your build is. My 60 hunter has, in his bank, a set of black dragonscale armor for the fire resists and doing MC and is working towards a set of beastmaster armor for his build since its mainly marksmen and survival. If he was beastial then he would use dragonstalker or predator armor. And all professions are like this. So everyone does NOT look the same at endgame.

My advice is you actually play a game before you critique it. Either that or say "My friend says...." before you tell people about a game.

    I wont give
you 3 reasons for which it is better, but I can give you 3 reasons its a good
    game.

    1)It has
its own style, cant argue about that, every major city has its own unique feel,
and so do most areas and monsters.

    2) Plenty
of well thought through and well executed ideas, like quest sharing, resting
    exp bonus, traveling,
    and freedom of
    movement

    3) Unlike
most of you think, WoW has actually some very interesting and fun quests,

    Even though
I don’t play WoW anymore, I think it is a good game, the problem is its not for
everyone, some people have other expectations from such games (me including)
but some really are having a kick out of it.

    So stop
with Hate, Love and Peace to the mmo community! All right, got a bit carried
    away here…

Not really, Im talking about the company not the game, get your facts straight and just stop intentionally trying to make me angry, and stop calling me and emo because I defend myself. Go post your hate crap on the hate post towards me. ANd its not critique towards the game if Im talking about the company, and  saying 60 lvl 60 rouges standning all at the same spot that look all exactaly the same is creative you might as well say god loves me and my life is perfect.

    1. The graphics, sounds, quests, lore, game mechanics, tradeskills, traveling, unique zone desings, trading, and all other things are done well. Everything is well done, and every part feels like it's essential part of the game and without it the game would be nothing. I think for a game with so much to do, that alone is a fantastic achievement wich makes it better than most of the MMORPGS out there.

    2. The user interface is amazing. Even the one provided Blizzard is way better than in most of the games I've seen. And if you have time and patience to pick up the right addons and configure them, you can create your own UI to display the information as you want it displayed and make the information wich most matters to you more clearly visible. Thus you can make the interface to support your own personal playing style better than in any other game I've ever seen.

    3. The game offers truly diffirent playing styles with diffirent classes. I myself could never think about playing very long with any other class after seeing how fun it is to tank with a warrior, whereas some druids love their ability to take diffirent roles, and many hunters love playing with their pets. It's much the same as it's with interface customization. The players are diffirent, and the game provides diffirent styles to play so that everyone can enjoy it. I don't really know if that makes the game good, but at least it makes it popular.

    Ok here's 3 reasons:

    1) It IS good value.

Not really it costs same as when it was released.

He most likely did not mean cost. Value is usually meant to be "How long will this game last me" or "Is it worth the money?". Yes, it DOES cost the same as it was released, but that's obvious. YES, it is worth the money because of the vast amount of content. That's what he meant by value.

Still not worth it. You're grinding to 60 (multiple times even) and then you quit when you're done. Value, to me, is replayability... I have yet to see anything play differently on either the Horde or Alliance side. Collect uber gear from instances and show it off as you gank newbs with your guild. An adolescent power-trip is not worth the time or money, in my opinion.

    2) A HUGE, fully explorable, varied environment with a variety of dungeons and creatures throughout. From what ive seen the enviroments are not varied and the dungeons are practically clones of eachother and the creatures are just copy and past
    esize and change colour.

Yes, SOME of the places/creatures do like similar, but that is not the case everywhere. All of the end-game instances (but you wouldn't know about those now would you?) differ from anything else seen in the game. They may hold some similar qualities as others, but they aren't clones like some of the lower level dungeons. And yes, some of the creatures are the same but with different names... in what game is this not the case? All that matters is from zone to zone, the creatures are generally different based on their location in the world and the lore surrounding it.

You have two varieties of wolf meshes: a scrawny wolf, and a noble wolf mesh. They come in red, black, white, zombie, yellow, and grey. The instances are the only things that truly vary... but since you do them multiple times, it's still boring.

End-game instances have nothing special about them by the 15th run.

What's the difference between the barrens and the den? Well.. the gravel's a different color and the trees had a paint job. Face it, they're using templates and recoloring them for each and every area.

    3) Large Warcraft fan-base created a ready-made community, making it easy to find groups, guilds, and events. This must be some sort of joke if by blocking 90% of the community makes this game playable and at least a little immersive then something is wrong.

What do you mean, "blocking 90% of the community"? Or are you just some battle.net guy who can't afford to pay for the game? This game is VERY accesible even to newbies, and it is, like Drashan said, very easy to find groups, guilds, and events. Not only is there a Warcraft fan-base, but you'll find a lot of casual, non-gamers as well. This game is huge, both content wise and subscriber wise.

It's easy to find groups, yes. Easy to find good groups? No. Two thirds of the time you get some newb shadow priest or shaman who doesn't know how to heal. You just try getting into an end-game instance guild, it's a pain because they're all '1337' and posess egos larger than the game itself.

What LordSlater meant by "blocking 90% of the community" was that when the schools let out, the bloody idiots who swarm the servers don't know when to shut up.

There is a point at which the game no longer becomes fun, I found this out at level 40 with my first character when I'm just going from area to area farming gold and saving up to get a mount. Great, now I have a mount, now I can go from area to area faster and level to 60 so I can buy a bigger mount.

Having a lot of content does not mean that a game is fun. This was a grind, even when I finished levelling.

It's the same stuff over and over. You don't bother with anyone because there's alwasys a soloable answer, and the economy is entirely based on loot... so you don't need to depend on anyone for anything.

This is not an MMORPG (in respect to multiplayer, it's still Mostly Men Online RolePlaying Girls), it's an MSPORPG.

For every three reasons you can think of why it's a good game, I can name nine of why it's not. How you judge what is good and what is not in the gaming industry is based soely on your tastes. I'm not going to tell you that this is a bad game for you, I'm going to tell you why I don't play it anymore.

it sounds like you play to much WoW. Pictures of about a hundred things that are all the same just different colored, I dont thinks those pics were photoshopped because it had all players ive seen and it looked realistic so dont say that it  was, the characters at lvl 60 are all the same. What do you have to say about that well huh.

World of Warcraft Pros:  1. Good Fanbase (i mean over 7 million people you cant say its not big)

                                      2. Over all extremely fun

                                      3. nice environments, huuge area

World of Warcraft Cons: 1. Massive amounts of lag,

                                      2. with a big population your going to find wierd people who just want attention and  will do whatever to get it,

                                      3. GM's are no where to be found
