As a long time MMO player I'll go ahead and throw my penny in the well; it's because leveling isn't fun it's monotonous. There are way more entertaining persistent online experiences I can go engage with and enjoy with other players and have a good …
Lotta people really like this game. It's not my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal. Easy to play, clear objective, and the gameplay isn't super complex so you can actually chat with the other players and socialize.
Trying to force people to group up doesn't work that well. Part of the draw for MMOs years ago was that for many like myself they were a way to socialize, meet people, and make friends. There are so many other avenues to do that nowadays that if I'm…

I don't envy these devs. I love Helldivers 2 and can't wait to see more of what's to come, but the game does still have a good number of bugs and glitches that need to be addressed.
They still have their own independent launcher, at least for now. You can purchase the game directly from their site if you really just can't stand Epic that much.
I think a large part of the issue is that devs, and maybe some gamers, equate things being tedious with being hardcore. When I hear people talk about WoW back in the early days it sounds like an awful slog, but people like to wax poetic about the go…
