I didn't get a chance to play for long, about an hour at most. It was my first time in the beta and I was really enjoying it, but graphically it did feel a little laggy, I'm putting that down to a mixture of my PC spec and an unoptimised engine thou…

Shame about the UI, even with a customised one (I'm using Ghost) it's old looking although it's functional. Little touches would make all the difference though, mouse over showing detail on weapons etc.

Good post Faded, I returned yesterday too and have been having a blast on Albion, I'm from the UK though so unlikely we'll meet up at any point lol. Great fun though, takes a while before it …
Originally posted by dreamer05 Couldn't agree more. DAoC was the best pvp I've ever experienced and the races and classes were all so unique if people still played today I would be right along with them. They would make bank off a new version.

Well I've gone back and I'm really enjoying it. It was a sizable break from the game but it's incredible how it all comes rushing back.
I still haven't got the hang of everything though, there's been a fair amount of changes since I last played bu…
There is only one server "Ywain" although it's a cluster of servers, so you pick one but you're essentially able to jump between them all.
Realm wise that entirely depends what you're after
Midgard = Norse legends
Hiberia = Celtic lege…
I'm taking the plunge and returning too, I really don't give a toss about graphics, never have but I miss the three realm element and until Dominus comes out I can't see anything interesting me. If nothing else it's another player on the server now …
I'm torn between opening my AOC account back up (it's been a long time..) or waiting for something, but in truth it could be one heck of a wait unless I'm lucky enough to get into a beta or two
Originally posted by lizardbones Ultima Online did not have a seamless world. Not for the mobs. You could cross that little boundary and then just dance around watching the mob stand there at the invisible boundary between you and them. Ultima Onlin…

Rift was so much more fun when it was new and thriving. I wouldn't have wanted to miss o…
UO etc were from a time when players were on average a little older than they are these days, those days will never return as those players have moved on or have become diluted amongst the miriad of MMOs available. I'm still in touch with old UO pla…
Just a heads up people, if you want any chance of being involved in the Dominus beta test I suggest you head over to their forums and participate. It's a game with promise for all the ex-DAOCers like myself who wish it was in it's prime but are slow…
Keeping any eye on Dominus at the moment, has potential but I have high hopes for Darkfall 2.0 whenever that actually happens, never played the first Darkfall myself although I do have a friend who loves it (I just haven't had the time). Hopefully i…
I might be on my own here but I think where many MMOs trip up isn't graphics or storyline but with sound effects, have a listen to many of the early MMOs where audio was key. DAOC in particular had superb audio for combat moves, attacks, defense and…
It'd possibly help of they merged the EU servers into US ones ASAP rather than letting the EU die out slowly as many MMOs have done in the past, then merge the bedraggled survivors into US servers at the last minute.
If there is a market for world PVP then someone will try it, however the quality of the game and players might well vary. I remember some quite draw dropping PvP in DAOC and WAR. Fun times
Dominus is the game i'm keeping my eye on, looks very pro…
