Are there any offical PvE servers up yet? I refuse to be fodder for sociopathic, basement dwelling rejects.
There are several player constructed shards with no PVP, but I don't think there are any separate official on…
Whilst everyone else may love the combat, the amount of movement as well as fight moves indicates to me that it will be unplayable for anyone, like me, who has to use adapted hardware because of disability. Yet another game ruined by the combat syst…
And once again the game caters to only the PvP players. Given all the changes to race/class upcoming in Legion, I won't be bothering to stick around for it.
I wouldn't class Rift as a newbie-friendly game, especially not when the newbie encounters their first Rift, alone and out in the wilds. This can be a very intense and confusing event!
Vanguard definitely deserves a much higher placing, certainly *much* higher than Age of Conan! It was the game I continually went back to when other games disappointed.
Looking forwards to this one! I'm delighted to see a few new games which are turn based; as someone who's disabled and has limited dexterity, it's ideal for me, as far too many games now have been rendered unplayable by RT action combat. Quite apart…
Something I'm already POd about:
Being forced to PvP to complete a quest chain. For those who like it, fine, but I don't, and for Blizzard to force me into it was a game-leaver.
The problem with garrisons, shipyards etc. is, as you said, the boredom/grind factor when running more than one toon. Now if Blizzard had made garrisons account specific rather than toon specific, we might have had something worth investing in. A ga…
Whilst I have enjoyed some of the Garrison content in WoD, it quickly becomes a grind after more than two of your toons graduate, and I can't help wishing that the Garrison had been made account based, rather than character based, with more flexibil…
Yes! I've backed several games that I liked the look of - playing all of them now - also a movie (Alex Cox directing "Bill the Galactic Hero), a documentary about Kurt Vonnegut and a space project. Why the hell not? If it's something I'm interested…
My first encounter with Fippy Darkpaw, intense! Needless to say, there was a bit of corpse recovery trauma involved, but the whole experience was electrifying. Perpetual rain in Queynos hills, guards kill-stealing beyond the Wall in the Halfling st…
I would *LOVE* to see Vanguard make a return, one of the best games out there, and shamefully neglected by Sony. Unfortunately, I can't see it happening. Though maybe Daybreak could have the imagination to improve on Vanguard, fixing all the things …
None of this is going to tempt me back to what is, essentially, a game that penalises crafters and holds no incentive to play once the level cap has been reached. Not to mention the impossibility of finding land after the initial gold farmer land gr…
I totally agree with what Mark has said, which is why I've abandoned so many games after beta-testing, and returned, time and time again, to old favourites like Vanguard. Why? Because although it may look clunky by modern standards, there is a dept…
I wholeheartedly agree with your comments about Wizardry Online; it was a *huge* disappointment to me, as a fan of the original Wizardry games. With just a bit more effort, it could have been the game that all us oldsters were hoping for, but it fai…
I recently went back to Vanguard after a couple of years away, to see what changes there were, and utilising the free-to-play system. Two days later, I subbed again, having realised that for me, it's still the best game out there. I absolutely love …
I absolutely agree with your cable analogy. I'm a casual player: don't raid, don't do battlegrounds, don't want to spend time and money on acquiring "cool" gear, and I do resent having to pay the same in a subscription game as hard-core gamers. Whic…
