Which PW did you play? - what I meant by meeting room is this - I played on Aventia (among lots of others) and we decided, what must be a few years ago now, that when NWN2 was released some of the players would make a room mod titled Aventia and all old NWN1 Aventia players could log in and discuss where to play or which servers to join. It seemed a good idea at the time but if just to do that will involve a 200mb dl then I think my NWN1 buddys will be gone for good with not much chance of meeting up again to play the new version.
On the otherhand, if NWN2 fails in MP then I hope a returned vigor for PW in NWN1, we can only hope!
....hmmm...think Ill load up NWN1 now and see if anyone is around and ask what the word is on NWN2

I used to play on Daggerford server. But it is long gone. Right now i am not playing NWN1 , but i am considering buying the platinum pack (again) - since i do not own the keys anymore
As for NWN2 , i say ... if you are fan of NWN - you should get it.
As i said, expect good SP. We might all go back to nwn1 for MP though

I reinstalled NWN1,SoU,HotU,CEP,Cep patch, lol, then had to update NWN1 but I found a pleasant surprise!!
There are lots of new servers and still lots of people playing. The server I played on had sub-races, crafting, +40 bonus stuff and there were 58 people online!! Most of these people killed me rofl and I wasnt sure why but it seems there is an bounty system for hunting players from an NPC (i guess my name came up a lot)
Anyway it was great fun to play an active NWN world again and Im busy lvling up to get revenge!! Methinx Ill max my pickpocket and get some nice free items :P
They wernt all pvprs and I got in a party easily and lvled fairly fast (lvl 16 in about 5 hours i guess)

NWN2 is decent. It doesn't hold a candle to NWN. The story is ok. The AI is pathetic. The camera has to be the most debilitating part of this game. I normally quit in frustration, because of this. I can't play the game for more than 30 minutes before I get sick of readjusting the camera angle. Its so bad, that it brings the game down. Piss poor testing, imo. Wait for this game is 20 bucks before you buy it. 50 bucks is highway robbery.
I honestly don't see what all the camera fuss is about, it took me a couple of minutes to get used to it but after that it wasn't a problem. Obsidian was pretty quick with the patches and they seem dedicated and actually listen to the community (unlike MANY other companies) so I trust that the game and its multiplayer experience will get better in time, like Neverwinter Nights 1.
Perhaps 3/4 years from now we'll be complaining about how bad Neverwinter Nights 3 is and how people should stick to Neverwinter Nights 2 because the MP Experience is much better and there is alot better with all that community content
Without that fix, I couldn't put up with that camera. Props to you, trigger, for being able to. Things like that are at the top of my irritations list. I suppose I'm not as forgiving once I've spent my money. Other than that, the game is ok. It's certainly not spectacular. It's adequate. I bought it because, like NWN, I enjoy the mods to come and the multiplayer with friends. Oh, just because I'm here... geez, their patcher sucks, too! Anyway, somehow I got myself hooked on FFXII. Hopefully there will still be people playing NWN2 when I'm done... If I'm ever done.

I suppose it would have been better to buy it like 1 or 2 months from now since the game will be improved by then probably, I finished the OC and won't be seeing good modules or multiplayer servers anytime soon, so I shelved the game aswell.
But I'm sure (I hope) that when I return, I'll have a blast with multiplayer.
$50 for a new game in USA? WOW!! Thats cheap! Gamers in Australia are still getting screwed!! NWN2 is $89 here, BF2142 is $110!! We have to wait years for decent games to hit the bargain bin. Some dont even make it and 6 year old games are still on shelves for nearly release prices!!

Im gonna leave buying NWN2 for a while, due to being unemployed. I was thinking of going without food for a week to buy it but thanks to you guys Ill hold off and eat. Im enjoying playing NWN1 again plus all the other MMORPGS im playing. Hey I got plenty of time atm lol, just no money! :P

Holy crap, how do they get away with that? I suppose it would be best to import games into australia then if thats possible. Or perhaps there's a site or a service where you can buy cd-keys for games online, like Direct2Drive, but D2D kind of sucks..

Anyway I'm really discouraged by all the comments on NWN2, especially on the official forums. My god. I'm getting my copy some time this week via pre-order...I just hope it doesn't turn out to be the piece of crap some people are claiming it to be. I played NWN1 on and off for 4 years, I'm gonna be massively disappointed if I end up hating this sequel.

Imagine me. Same crazy fanboy of NWN1, playing it for 4 years and loving it.
I was one of the first people to buy the release version (we got it 1 day before it hit the stores in US) ,
in that moment everyone has GALACTIC hopes for NWN2!
Imagine my disapointment...
At least you now know what to expect. And might actually get to emidiately patch it with 1.3 patch.

I have to say I was a little dissapointed to start out... with all the production I've heard about, I thought I was finally going to see an EPIC game. I should've waited a few months until the modding community got comfortable with the new toolset and put some stuff out before I got it... but hell, what can you do?
All in all, it does have a great story, just with a few roadbumps along the way... don't mind the camera, as I've played NWN1 for so long and I don't mind that... so I don't know what the hell that argument is. The keep that you get could've had more time invested in it (custumization quests and such). Also, with your companions, having the chance to multiclass them should've started much sooner... Khelgar for example, I sucked up to him the whole game, and didn't get him into the monks of Tyr until late into the 2nd Act... wasn't worth it. ALL characters should have the option, too... the only understandable one is Ammon Jerro, as he's optional, and you get him so late in the game...
Needless to say, the game does deserve a large *sigh*. It could've had more work, as I said. But hey... it's fun, and I'm going to have to be patient and watch the modding community, and try to tinker with the toolset... it sucks, by the way, compared to the first. Played the first time around with good responses, now I'm gonna try some evil shinanagins.

because they launch the game too soon, wanna take it out for christmas and I didnt, even, finished the soloing part, but, also, the multiplayer sucks a lot, the editor is a s... when you wanna play online you must download a part of the mod, everytime it gets updated... wtf! Seems that they didnt learn anything from nwn1 because is the same, with a bad graphic engine, that needs lots of resources and gives no exceptional quality, animation sucks a lot, and no new content, they took d&d and put itself in the game, so, what they do? they get nwn and put it in a bad graphic engine
