Pretty much yep. We have high lvl rangers and bards in the guild I'm in and they are on their main most nights. Never hear any complaints about not finding a group. So yeah I think your talking out your rear like usual, and I think most people here already know it so I don't have to justify bards or rangers to anyone. If anything my server is short on is clerics the rest of the spots fill up fas.
You don't even play the game! You got that from what one group and they told you that? Go ahead tell me you had many groups and they told you the same thing. Go ahead and lie some more.
Social skill is not PnP character skill you know, nor is it a river. The only people who can't get in groups are those struggling with social issues, really sorry for them, maybe a single player game suits their style better? I don't know. Fact is, I'll roll you one kick arse ranger any time, I'll roll you one that outdamages a fighter anyday. Bards are simply the best buffers all around, they are a real asset, played right they can be anything from damage dealers to healers/rezzers. Did you know that bards own in PvP as well? Well since I posess all this knowledge I am sure to take bards and rangers with me on quests, as I always manage to get in groups with my bard.
My advice to your friends : go out once in a while, practice the english language verbally, and I guarantee an improvement in DDO.
Welllll......I like this game. Has a lot of the spirit of the paper and pencil edition, and the quests are fun. The community is more pleasant than I am used to in WoW, and the character customization is more detailed. Overall, I would say WoW is a better experience if you are new to that game, too....but I personally rank WoW, DDO and GW as my top three MMOs these days.
Especially from someone who doesn't play the game and loves to spread misinformation.
Yeah you have to love CapLast. He doesn't have a clue about the game. Only played to level 4, has openly admitted that he hasn't played for some time. Yet gets upset when he is repeatedly shown to be a liar and we prove time and again that he has no real knowledge of this game.

Dude you continue to prove our point. You hate the game. You don't play the game. Move on. Quit wasting your time and ours by posting junk just to try to stir up stuff. We don't want you here. Of those that actually play the game we know that your figures don't jive with the real game. Just because you post a bunch of dribble and information on the PnP game doesn't mean jack in regards to the online game.

And you can? CapLast prove to us that bards/Rangers dont get groups. Prove bards do nothing for the group. Prove the game sucks. Prove I have to wait an hour for a group or I get booted from a group cause they want a cleric.

Seven/merv, I didn't say Rangers or Bard didn't get classes. I said they have harder time than anyone else based on the opinion and knowledge of players who have level 10 to 12 character themselves. Nor did I say, you would get immediately kicked out, but said your chance of staying in a group are slim depending on what class. Don't throw words in my mouth.
Then prove it then. Your so hell bent on us proving what you want you prove the same. You can't! Prove what you say, would love to hear it. Where's the beef? Oh wait your not a subscriber, you don't know....

Hearsay. I love it when people make postings as if they are fact when they don't even know for themselves but basing their post on hearsay. Hell hearsay isn't even accepted in court.

Grouping is now a must if I'm to continue gaining levels toward that ambitious Beholder encounter.
My neighbour is dropping behind as he hasn't had as much to invest as I have, he's lvl 4.2. Shame.
Favo(u)r is now a respectable 351/400
Last evening's PUG went well indeed, despite the fact one of the players ignored the slow play request clearly visible on the LFG tab. This brings me to the fact that most players seem to know exactly what they're doing, where to go next, location of traps etc, thus exposing them as 'veteran' players who are using alts, having lvl12 characters stashed away for future use.
In some respects this is good, mainly for the aforementioned traps and warnings of surprises which could be around the next corner. The other side of the coin is that any real sense of exploration is lost to me as I just end up tagging along really.
Bards are plentiful on the server I use and good to have in a group I say, as are rogues.
Curiously the 'Festival' is still running. I assumed this was Turbine's answer to most MMO's Christmas events, like Great Father Winter....WOW!!!
If that's so I wonder why D&D's festival hasn't been put to bed weeks ago.
State of play then........Still hanging in there and having no problems picking up a party for quests around my level, even completed the much-reviled 'Freshen the Air' on eilte yesterday morning, so I never need to step into that can o' worms ever again. Finally.....Go away Mr. Festival dwarf.
DDO is the worst game out there. It TRIES to be D&D third, and it fails miserably.
You dont even start with Magic Missile. Warforged are TOTALLY incorrect in that game. Fucking NPCs get extra AC based on their CR. Who ever heard of this crap? Okay, so an NPC gained 2 or 3 levels, and now he gets +9 to his AC? Bull.
The players are generally retarded, no one roleplays (which is unheard of considering D&D is a ROLE PLAYING GAME), and the quests are repetitive, considering you have to do them over and over (albiet on varying difficulties) to gain experience.
Speaking of experience... You have to get something like 5000 experience to get to level 2. Then its something like 18000 to get to level 3. LEVEL THREE?! The experience requirements are CLEARLY listed in the PHB, coming in at 1000 experience for level 2, and 3000 experience for level 3.
A CR 3 Kobold can hit my character for 12 points of damage? Thats bullshit. Its not even possible for a Small sized Kobold to even THINK about that much damage, even if he has "extra levels". This game is for retarded D&D players, who can look at a drow and be like "OMFG I GIT T3H DR0W", and play with their flaming longswords.
The only redeemable quality are the quest features, such as exterminating Kobolds, solving a puzzle, etc. Those are kinda neat. However, after solving the SAME PUZZLE 4 TIMES (One for each difficulty), I get tired of it.
Lets not forget that after an increase of 1-2 CR, a creature gets TRIPLE the HP of their normal counterparts. Also, the Feats are totally fubared. They just made a bunch of shit up and threw it in a pot, labeling it an MMO. MMO? Yes it is. MMORPG? No, it isnt.
Much like ALL of the games nowadays, DDO is NOT an MMORPG. Experience points and hot chicks with little clothing do not an MMORPG make. It takes ROLE PLAYING to make a ROLEPLAYING GAME work. If they would have stick to the official D&D rules, the game would be golden.

I played this game a bit after it came out and was actually having fun to begin with... The problem I had was that folks only wanted to run a few dungeons over and over again and allot of the content was hardly ever used. Is this still a problem or have people broadened their horizons a bit??

Nope, I played most recently back in Nov. People are still repeating quest and people are still powergaming. They're either repeating quest for either XP or favor. Despite the new quests, DDO still requires you to repeat the quests in order to master them on different difficulties.
Isn't this like any other game? People flock to the dungeons with the best exp/loot. Yeah some areas get overlooked because lack of loot and the exp sucks probably. I'm in the crowd that likes to do both, I don't mind doing same dungeons over for loot/exp and I don't mind exploring new areas.
And you know you got the power to start your own group. If you want to check out a new dungeon MAKE A GROUP. They don't make themselves, and you will be surprised the people just wanting to do something.
I have been playing Lineage2 for so long that I missed the launch of D&D, would it be extremely hard for me to start playing now?Is the grind as bad as some other games or more manageable? I don't mind grind but when you're limited on how long you can play due to work ,it gets bad.
I have never played lineage II just saw some glimpses when I was in Japan. I only have heard it is a very grindy game. So if you are used to that type of hardcore grinding DDO will be a cakewalk for you. If you just want to hit max lvl that is not very hard to do quickly if that is your goal. You can rerun the very high xp quests all along your lvl curve to maximize power leveling. Your character will be viable depending on how you choose to build it. The only difference between your character and people who have played much longer would then be gear. Gear is fairly easy to acquire as well but getting the best gear requires extreme luck or very repititive grinding of the High End Quests for random drops or Specific loot drops. There are also quest series with selectable loot rewards to choose from for very good gear.
There is a free trial link right off the main DDO site that should help you decide if this game fits your playstyle. Good Luck.

Ok I will type in a way so you can understand.
You do not play the game, but claim all this knowledge of DDO and try to tell everyone about mobs, classes, dungeons when it is usually ALL WRONG.
And all this from a lvl 4 trial account. Or whatever from your other account with Cap.
