you know the 360 can use a mouse and keyboard riiight?? well atleast keyboard, but it has usb slots so anythng usb can work givin the drivers, program.
just so far m$ refuse to let it work in the game. So just maybe, just maybe by october m$ will realize the fact users want mouse/keyboard for the games and they will let it be enabled.
Of course m$ will allow it because they want to get in on the cash of the whole online console gaming.
When sales arent up where they want it to be, and its because users prefer mouse/keyboard then they will allow it and bring a patch to the xbox 360 with mouse/keyboard aswell as games will have patches for the 360 for this feature.
but currently that is very slim chance because m$ already owns the market in online console gaming..
so 360 users just needs to keep pushing for it or boycott it entirely till its allowed.
so you ps3 fans better push those ps3 forums for online games so compete with m$. but i doubt sony got the wealth to do that since they refuse porn on bluray. tho there is internet so it doesnt matter if porn is on bluray or not. but just imagine how much hours of porn u can get on bluray.
I have an Xbox 360 and I've already tried using a mouse and keyboard for FFXI, it WORKS. Microsoft is all about having as many things work with the 360 as possible. I only played it during the beta for a month, but during that time it worked.

Could you test that with FPS games?
Well its either the game devs implementing it or m$ makes a "general" so anything can be rebinded to mouse/keyboard function.
Besides AoC the other game that will favor 360 vs PC will be Huxley.
Dont even think about Shadow Run. A good game turned Counter-strike with mana and elves. Plus all their talk about giving 360 controllers auto aim and how controllers pwn the mouse users because of the auto aim like features. If any xbox/360 users think Shadow run "findings" make controller superior then mouse should just reroll in life.
Majority of xbox users doesnt even want the auto aim. There are some out there that wants to prove controllers are just as good, if not superior, to the mouse. Yet developers out there STILL DOESN'T LISTEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. (if it turns out mouse own the controller, you devs can always hot fix it in a 1mb patch which changes some kind of controller_autoaim from 0 to 1)
Anyway back to the main topic... AoC is an MMORPG with a new combat system, its not a total FPS game like huxley is, so what is the difference whether you play with an xbox user or a pc user.
In melee combat all i can see them doing to the controller is the right analog stick is for direction swinging and for range its how they will mouse the cursor.
Now i own both PC and 360 system. And i play both Ghost Recon Advance Warfighters and Gears of War. Now in both games i dont really remember there even being an option to adjust the sensitivity of the aim stick.
So in other words, controllers using bows will take a set amount of time to get from point A to point B on there screen where as a Mouse user can go from Point A to Point B depending on how fast their sensitivity is, and now with all the "gaming grade" mouse out there with ON-THE-FLY sensitivity changer, you can get there in a twitch of your wrist and still beable to aim because u can lower the sensitivity right when you zoom in.
In both GRAW and GoW once you go into "aim mode" your cursor moves really slow. (it was really pointless to even go into aiming mode in GoW to fight. Just get your view in the general direction then aim. No point in aiming from 1 mob to another)
I dont see how AoC is really effected by xbox controllers.
Even in World of Warcraft i wanted to beable to use my logitech rumblepad.
Analog stick to move, ( 1 ) Aim Shot ( 2 ) Multishot ( 3 ) Serpent Sting ( 4 ) Hunters Mark,. And the top buttons (5,6,7,8) can be used for main tank targeting, or main assist, etc.
But seriously, how does using a controller in a MMORPG with a LIMITED shooter effect the game to an point where you cant stand playing with those type of players. I understand Shadow Run and Huxley because its purely FPS.
If xbox 360 pad users would get adventages to their game just for using pads to control their character, I would be very upset. I thought you could buy mouse to xbox, guess I was wrong?
Funcom have said that they are thinking about having exclusive 360 servers aswell as mixed PC/360 servers. So everyone should be satisfied
However, MS has said that Vista is the only OS currently available that will connect with X-Box Live users.
"Whosoever shed last blood By man shall his blood be shed For immunity of God make he the man Destroy all that which is evil So that which is good may flourish And I shall count thee among my favored sheep And you shall have the protection of all the angels in Heaven."
Yes you can buy a keyboard/mouse for the xbox 360. As long as it is USB. The thing is whether or not either the devs or maybe it relies on microsoft to give full compatibility with it to the games. Currently the keyboard function for the xbox360 only work to help type faster in chat. To my knowledge most or no games have full compatibility. But it has full compatibility when chatting.

Yes, and no.
Microsoft have no rights to say non vista users will not be allow to interact with xbox users, especially when the actual games servers isnt theirs.
XBOX -> XBOX Live -> AoC Servers <- PC Users
So what funcom said is right. Any MMO games unless owned by microsoft, has no say in whether or not they allow vista only are allowed to interact with xbox users.
What microsoft means by only Vista users will be allow to play with xbox users are games like EASPORTS, NFS, games that are multiplayer on xbox live that uses game channels.
XBOX -> Live <- Vista users
Kinda like battlenet-ish. you join xbox live to join created games by other players. thats is what microsoft means, and thats the only way they can enforce that.
I'm not mad at playing with X360 players because I own an Xbox 360 . Alot of games will be cross-platform like Shadowrun, Huxley, and the newly announced MMO by Square-Enix for Xbox 360 and Windows Vista.
I said its true, because how they connect to AoC servers.
XBOX360 connects to XBOX LIVE and then connects to AOC Servers
PC connects to AOC Servers.
Users meet in a middle not owned by MICROSOFT and therefore are allowed to play on the same servers...
I said that the whole Vista and Xbox live online together is referring to games like Need For Speed or Madden 2007 etc.
Where you would connect to a server where you create individual game channels for each game. IE: Diablo 2 (battlenet) you connect to bnet, then join a game channel (ie: blah blah blah run) after that is over you rejoin another game channel over and over. Only way for PC users to connect to xbox live is to have Vista.
XBOX360 connected to XBOX LIVE.
VISTA user connects to XBOX LIVE.
That is what Microsoft means about only VISTA users are allow to play with XBOX360 users. cause only vista users will be allowed to connect to xbox live.
Computers and Xboxs will play on seperate servers from all the current known info.
Exactly. There will be XBox servers, PC servers and MAYBE some combined but we will see. I for one will be playing on a PC only server. Cant imagine what nonsense will go on in the xbox servers and frankly I dont wanna know lol. Hopfully they have separate forums as well. Will be interesting to see what differance would be in the communitys on xbox verses PC forums.
