Realizing, after one week straight of 22 hours a day of WoW (parents went on vacation), what a waste of life the last six months have been. I have sworn to not play the same game for more than 3 hours a day now.
It's funny people say WoW is the worst. If you spend a lot of time on anything you''ll get sick of it.
Serious death penalties makes every close call an adrenaline rush, and every minor achievement a major victory. This alternative rule-set should be in all MMORPGs.
The Release of EQ2 when my first guild left DAoC for a game that I wouldn't have touched with a 10-foot pole. I really liked those people but not enough to play that game.
Now the worst game that would probably be 4th Coming it's been a long time and I have already forgotten why I hated it, but I still get a bad feeling in my stomach when I read the name.
I'm not just saying this to make a point - it's a feeling like something bad is about to happen.
It's probably for the better that I don't remember.

I tryed EVE online due to every one on this forum talks about it... And sadly it was the worst game I have ever played in my life... I had more fun playing runescape...
Picture it, Uo, Pre-Trammel. I'm traveling between Yew and... I believe it was Minoc... or possibly Britain. I had sold too many bows in Yew and I was looking for a new market. Anyway, while on the road I encountered a couple of ogres and just barely defeated them. No sooner had the second ogre fell, that I was attacked by three PKers who had probably been watching the whole thing. So I did the only thing reasonable thing. I ran like hell.
Taking a poison arrow followed by a moongate, I wound up in some tropical looking town with no idea of where I was. After getting the healing that I needed, and being set back financially, I went to the store to stalk up on supplies. This store was being haunted by a couple of naked thieves that kepte trying to pick my pockets. At one point the shopkeeper called the guards because "they're stealing stuff in here." I decided that I'd leave the store and try to ditch these two losers. No luck there, they stuck like glue as I wondered around town and tried to figure out where the hell I was. After about twenty minutes (and no guards I might add), I finally took matters into my own hands and put the hammer (axe actually) to one of the thieves. This cut his HP in half and I got some very colorful vernacular from both of them. "beat it" I told them, but they decided to continue following me. I brought the axe down again, this time on the other one. "Don't make me have to kill you dude." I was really frustrated that these two morons still didn't get it. Two steps later I get a message saying that I caught someone trying to pick my pocket. At this point I just up and killed both of them. Everything seemed fine until.... the guards finally decided to show up and kill me.
And my friends wondered why I stopped playing UO...
I'd like to know what everyone worste experience in an MMO was, like being robbed blind, or otherwise going into a coma over something or another.
My vote for worst has got to be the Issue#5 Defensive Nerf / Enhancement Diversification 1-2 Nerf Punch in City of Heroes. This global nerf is gonna go down in MMO history second only to the SWG debacle many refer to in horror.
1) Nerfing defense stacking then offering suggestions on new slotting knowing good and well the second nerf was incoming.
2) Shoe horning in a system that was designed from the ground up for the Villians side.
3) Rushing it in on the Heroes side without testing it's effects on the dozens of Arcs combos.
4) A year and a half later inventions and more powefull SO's still haven't been implemented to ease the impact.
5) Calling a 30% Global power reduction nerf enhancement Diversification when all it did was create more cookie cutter builds.
I still love ya Cryptic but you wern't forth coming nor did you do you're homework before unleashing that baby.
well my pre-order expirience with dark and light was pretty bad, even though i did end up with two refunds haha
but my worst MMO gameplay expirience was playing FFXI the first time, grainy graphics, amazing grind, and controls/interface which made me want to punch an infant
Not being able to cancel SWG after the NGE as I couldn't log in at all. The "I forgot my password" (although I hadn't) function didn't work and I had no response to many, many e-mails. Had to cancel the credit card in order to stop payment. So SOE gets the worst customer service award as well as worst MMO experience.
Hehe this original topic was about experiences within the mmorpg as a result of interactions or encounters rather than the game I think. For example, I think I could say like going on a long instance and someone ninjaring wasn't that great an experience. But if the OP is indeed referring to 'worst mmo experience' as a mmorpg then I'd say DragonRaja. Having to click 10,000 times just to level up a skill was not my idea of fun. Goodness knows how many clicks a person who spent longer on the game had to do, must have RSI by now.

SOE is building quite a reputation for that. An example below of their great customer service.

Of course #2 would be SOE and its NGE to SWG.

Ah Dark & Light, how did the get hyped into fame, only to get infamy as one of the biggest let-downs since DDO.
I think it's the objective of your past self to make you cringe.

My worst experience was hands down Horizons. What a load of crap that game was!
Second worst - SWG NGE.
And looking at both of my worst gaming experiences, it was 100% a result of developers lying to their player's base.
Let the buyer beware. I'll never touch a game that David Bowman or SOE ever have a part in.

If you haven't heard the stories, google it. It's better than going to the movies.

SWG when the NGE hit or the end game of WoW.
Noone above and noone beside....And the all time worse game award goes to..DnL!!
When SOE borked SWG withe the NGE.
When Anarchy online became EQ 1.5 with the release of Shadowlands.
