Does anyone know of any out of the way questing areas for characters in their early 20s on Qalia?
There is a server over-population problem on Vanguard servers?

Wow,  I haven't noticed that on my server at all..

    Im on Flroendyl, btw.

    Florendyl is underpopulated.

That would be awesome but sadly  . .  no.

Unless by "underpopulated' you mean I have to wait 15 minutes for the PC population to thin at the Lizardmen camps instead of 1 hour. Or maybe you mean that the 2-3 full six man parties where half as many as the number that should have been there?

If this was the effects of being "underpopulated" then Sigil needs to think about more servers . . .

Ok we get that your lizardmen are over camped, for already specified reasons. Florendyl is STILL an underpopulated server, just like the rest of them.

Are you having any difficulty understanding how those two facts go together? Or do you reason that the entire server must be overflowing with subscribers just because 12-18 people aren't fitting too well in one particular area?

I've been on Flroendyl since launch and I have also noticed the last couple weeks the population seems to have grown.. I wouldn't go as far as to say its overpopulated, but the more popular quest areas are getting more crowded....

If I remember right the two Beacon Towers that are SW of Khal have quests for early 20's

I play on Thunderaxe.  On the weekends the servers are fairly active.  I dont have a problem finding a group.   On the weekdays the servers are underpopulated.  Pretty typical of any MMO imo.

The beacons are a little low for him. At 20 he wants to hit Donovans Roost - Vihaad Camp, Infineum Mines quests.

Please let me know what part of the world you are playing at so I can go there.Heh, I doubt you'll get a response on that one. Why's that?

Renton's Keep in Thestra, I just rode there from the Vault of Heroes/Veskal area. Renton should be in your level range, danbala, we'll add to the handful of people there!

Honestly, PM me your character name.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was hoping for a place in Qalia (my friends are all based there). If you are looking for players our group is on fairly regularly. I'd be happy to message you.

I've done the beacons. The Roost area is currently heavily trafficed and that is what made me decamp to the UDG area. I'm hoping there is a third level appropriate quest hub somewhere.

PM me your character name(s). I'm not in-game right now, but I have a Lesser Giant Warrior I'll bring to Qalia this evening.

I understand that Sigil is going to open up a new Vanguard server, it will be called "Flamebait".

  • Erm, you guys seem not capable of handling the truth that vanguard is doing better now?

What does the insinuation that there's server overpopulation occurring have to do with Vanguard doing better?

Do you think it'd be in Vanguard's best interest right now if Sigil were to think they're dealing with server overpopulation and react accordingly by doubling the amount of servers they have? Would that help, or hurt Vanguard as it is right now? Should they cancel all plans for adding teleporters, better LFG functionality, and other things they were planning on implementing for mistakenly believing theres actually low server population issues?

That's my problem with posts as useless as this original poster's. Server overpopulation MUST be occurring because three groups of players were camping lizardmen and there was a 15 minute wait. Only half as many people should've been there? Double the servers, add a queue that only allows half as many current subscribers as there is right now.

When you cry overpopulation, those are the only kinds of remedies that can fix them. But of course those 'remedies' would kill a game already suffering from low server population. So why should anyone consider such a stupid remark as something positive, and attribute it to "Vanguard doing better"? Vanguard will do better when everyone accepts the problems that it currently has and are constructive towards fixing them, not get all giddy because they actually saw another person in game for once and couldn't wait to get on the message boards to completely exaggerate the matter.

As far as how many people play I have no clue. Last official word last month was 200000+ sales and a little less than that subscribers.

    Are you on drugs?  200+?

Plus no zones is BS.  Every chunk is a zone and you notice the chunks because your invis will drop.  your horse will drop, or you will die when you cross one.

No according to the OP and a few others this 1 server is doing better.  Why?  Because it was one of the heavier populated servers so all the people on the low pop servers are leaving for it is what I am guessing.  Start asking those players you see if they rerolled from another server.  I am guessing that is what is happening in most cases.  Happened in EQ2 before the server merges, a lot of people on the low pop servers started going over to AB because it had a high population.

That makes sense Stoney, I played EQII on AB from release until last fall, and watched as the population declined after release then picked back up as people migrated over to AB. For this game probably the best thing for the game would be to do a server merge but I doubt if certain peoples egos could handle that if ya know what I mean. Underpopulated servers, long travel times, and a group oriented design do not go well together.

    I miss DAoC

Neither invis, horse or death occur for me when I chunk. My illusions do drop though. Also 1-2 secs of freeze when changing chunks is WAY different than a couple of mins zoning. If your mind cannot understand the difference, its beyond me to explain.

And about my 'am I on drugs ' quote lets go back to the sentence and read it together. (Something I would do to any 6 year old that has trouble reading.)

As far as how many people play I have no clue . The beggining of the sentence impies I dont really know how many people actually play the game. Last official word last month. This part of the sentence implies that sometime in march someone from Sigil made a comment about sales and subscriber numbers. 200000+ sales and a little less than that subscribers.Thats in my recolection is what they said.

I hope this clears things up for you mate. For further help talk to your teacher.

No I am not. I base this number from an official statement from one of the people in sigil. Where do YOUbase your number? Intuition? Divine inspiration? The force? A little green man came down and told you?

Several minutes to zone?  EQ2 zones take 2-5 seconds to load for me and I don't have to "load" more when I get near things which causes more stutters, etc...

You mean you've misconstrued your numbers. Sigil has yet to give out any active subscriber numbers. Only a number of "registered" users. All you know is that they've apparently sold over 200,000 boxes

Back when EQ2 was releasead you could go do something else while a zone was loading. Especially if you didnt have a top performance pc. Nowdays after 2 years of optimazation and advance in computer technology is much better. Still tnowhere near (2-5) secs you claim. Even if you do have a comp that will load you fast, dont tell me that you dont have to wait for other people while zoning for a raid. Its bio time for us. Dont have time now, will explain to you later the difference between chunking and zoning ,their cons and pros of how I see them. But dont give me chunking as game breaking characteristic and immersion killer, when you play games with zoning which take 10 times as much time to load you from one area to the other. In my opinion its just plain stupid.
