2012 End of the world?

I did just like to ask what you think about the Omen 666, also known as the prophecy. It has inspired curiousity in me since I have seen somewhere that the roman catholic church, or something like that predicted the year 2012 A.D. to be the end of the world, before they knew the Maya also predicted this and had great fear for this date.  I did like to know what you think because I don't feel like waiting 5 years to find out if this is true or not...

    Also there have been rumors of "curses" in the 1967 version of the movie of the "Omen" and the 2006 version of the Omen. On the newer version I heard about a guy that was in the movie at some poker game or something and fliped three "6's" shortly before he died. And something about the older movie bringing about worse curses, but the site "Wikipedia" didn't mention any other than the card one.

    And also heard a rumor that the secretary general of the U.N. will be the antichrist or something..not entirely familiar with this prophecy so I did appreciate any information you did have.

    Who cares it's the end of the world in 2o12. If the world will be destroyed we will just have to create it again. even if that means to defy a god.

    The Maya believed that their world would end on Dec 21, 2012. Of all the dates put forth by prophets and cultures for a doomsday, this is one with an authentic almost eerie feel to it.

    not sure. it is kinda weird that two religons and both of two different cultures believe the same thing. maybe it's true maybe not i just hope they see the freakin thing that will destroy us before we have no time to ecaspe and theyve found a planet we can live on and that we have the means to get there.

    Wow, this is when I actually wish I can go back in time, write somthin on a tablet and put it in a nice place to be found in the future. Come on now, don't believe everything you see, don't believe everything you hear. The world is not going to end in 2012 and if you do think that (which I hope you don't), might want to go ahead and end yourself, becuase 2012 is right around the corner. This is like when people thought the world was going to end when it hit 2000.

    yeah the fact that they said 2000 was the end is abit confusing and what happened to 2016 they said that was the end to because there was a giant metorite heading our way that miraculously burned up before it reached us or same crap like that.

    Bleh..... somoene has been predicting apocolypse since we developed a complex enough language set to understand the concept.

    I bet you everything you own against everything I own (2 houses and 10 acres of land) it wont happen. You cant lose if you think your right . The only thing eerie about it is the people that fall for it.

    Life just isnt that exciting folks... in case you hadnt noticed.

    Well enough of the prophecies here lets just look at the world at this moment of time. America are on there usual objective to conquer the world and are about to move to Iran who allegedly have Weps of Mast Destruction. N.Korea seemed to hate America and are ready for a total war. May not be the end of the world but some i know some crazy shit's going to happen soon.

    Don't forget Global Warming and the possible explosion of the Yellowstone Caldera. And ofcourse the impacts of giantic meteorites.

    Merely worst worst-case scenarios ofcourse.

    But it is funny to know that this prophecy is indeed theoretically possible.

    I would be very surprised if it did happen, but it's at the very least a possible situation.

    If I recall correctly, the Mayan calendar doesn't state it's the "end of the world" in 2012. The direct translation is that it's the "end of time". It's our interpretation that this means "end of the world".

    So, perhaps a better question is, what else could "end of time" mean? Possibly the end of linear time? Who knows.

    December 22, 2012 is the last day on the Mayan calender.  Read into it any way you like, you won't know until it happens.  Personally it'll be nice not having debt anymore after that date.  LOL

    From my understanding there is a big scientific effect on 12/21/2012. The earth's axis is slightly tilted and after numerous years it actually finishes what they call the wobble, at this same time on this date the sun will align directly with the eye of the milky way. It is actually pretty interesting.

    Does this mean it will be the end of the world, not really but then again do you really want to know.
