I hope they take the WoW route with Starcraft. Now, don't get me wrong here, I don't want an other "easy-mode" MMO, what I meant was they take the smae route in terms of releasing games for the Starcraft IP. First, they'd release Starcraft 2, which would build up to SCO(Starcraft Online). The third announced game would be Diablo 3 then, if my wishes were granted.

I mean fair and all, should it be more interesting of they started a new title..?They have Rock N' roll racing, Starcraft,Starcraft ghost,Diablo, d2,d2expa.. wc1,wc2.wc3,wc3FT wow, wow-tbc, A new title should be able to rock some of em out of the list..? should be cool with a new game from the most succesful online game making company in the world..
It won't be Diablo 3. The majority of the Diablo team all left to make Hellgate London.
My guess is it'll either be World of Starcraft or something new. A starcraft MMO makes sense for a couple of reasons, namely they've got a whole bunch of unused Starcraft content left over from the unreleased Starcraft: Ghost (that's how they made WC3, they were making a game called Warcraft Adventures, but they canned it and used the leftovers to make WC3). In addition, I'm told they've recently been hiring lots of people with MMO skills.

I think it will be Starcraft Online as a FPSMMO, a tactical shooter with character development. They could be pulling some reasources already developed for Starcraft:Ghost.
D2 is very limited. I beat the game in a few months & felt the devs could have done a lot more to add replayability. But I guess they don't want you to play forever for free.
WoW has more potential for replayability but theres the monthly fee. In a way,
WoW is D3.
Starcraft MMO has great potential. I think Starcraft2 RTS is a guaranteed hit also.
But I rather see MMO. And for people that like to control lots of units, make a necro or commander.
Its frustrating when companies don't listen to players. It makes you want to make your own game.
And Hellgate, the environment doesn't turn me on, I see nothing special about the game, I think i rather get titan quest.
Well there is a team at Blizzard working on Diablo 3, you just won't here about it until they decide to publish. Blizzard is rather particular about announcing half finished games.
Pretty sure that the new game being announced on the 19th will NOT be a MMO.
So if it is Starcraft it will be a Starcraft II rts game.
p.s the game they will be announcing will be starcraft related and no doubt starcraft 2. why go to korea other wise to announce a starcraft mmo when they like there wierd mmo's like rf, etc.
well, you can't say that for sure, we'll just have to wait and see. it's pretty pointless debating over this when it's so close to the day they will tell us.
I was actually thinking about this. Why not almost have it be another PLANETSIDE? I eman just like planetside you getin other vehicles or whatever, this game you could get into suits and or ships, zerg, you start out as a larva and you choose what you want to infest just like the actual game.
If your not familiar, the larva you would see from hatcheries are the actual zerg, the other zerg units you would actually use are just infested creatures, liek the hydra was actually an herbevore untill the zerg caught hold.
And of course blizzard can make this game PVPVE or osmething with large events of Xel'Naga attacks or hell even allow players to destroy entire worlds! That would be insane yet a costly action. Anyway this is just a dream of mine.
If anyone remembers the intro to STARCRAFT BW, think of how you wished the gameplay was like that, just wait. one day we might be able to look up and see a battlecruiser in the sky.......
I played D2 for a long time and had SIXTEEN level 99 toons; but I can’t imagine what they would add to D3 to make me even consider playing it. Sure, the graphics would probably be much better but the Diablo series gameplay is very structured and linear:
Step 1: level your character, select talents/skills
Step 2: run high-end dungeons over and over in search of rare loot
Step 3: participate in lame, gear-centric, PvP
Does that sound familiar to anyone? I don’t think Diablo as an MMO is likely since it already exists (but with another IP’s lore).
What if... It's "World of Warcraft for the Xbox360"..
Believe i read a rumor about that in EGM months ago.. It's possible right? I think i read theres currently 6 mill xbox 360 gold members, might be a untapped market of xbox 360 users who prefer there consoles over the pc gaming. WoW on a big screen t.v might look awful nice. Any usb keyboard will work on the 360. 2 more days till we know.
