    @Raven99

Not sure why you bothered either. Maybe if you want reasons you should read the rest of the thread.

Hell.. next time... DON'T bother. kthnx.

    @Ironman2000

Agree, most of the haters are male, but most of the gamers are male. No shock there.

Now... if we could hook Bane up with a list of the females that game hardcore and post on the site...

As far as WoW being over... it is not yet.

I think with as much bad press as it is really getting, as many folks as bash and hate it... the writing is on the wall. It just might take alot of time for it to really get there. What all the fans need to do is see it clearly when it does arrive. EverQuest was MY game. But it is dead. There are still people playing it, still expansions coming out... but there are not enough people for the massive numbers it had in it's heyday. For all intents it is no longer a contender, and the expansions are really only for the people that stick with it. No new subscribers, no future for the game.... just a slow... bleeding... death...

I expect WoW to be in a similar place in the next year or two.

Ironman I dont intend to get into what you call "childish pissing matches". Because outside the forum anything said inside the forum means absolutely nothing I dont see how these so called "haters" could possibly be funny and to me it sounds like sarcasm. I dont see how its funny that people who dislike a game do just that. For whatever reason they dont like the game big deal its not funny to me thats all.

Secondly I think it has nothing to do with your gender which for some possibly "psychological" reason you do.

People post on forums because its a place to voice there opinions. Its not supposed to be a place where you worry about things like "exaggerating, gender and reasons why". Here you come say what you want and leave.

You didn't realize it, but you summed up why WoW was garbage before BC came out.

It's all well and good if a portion of your playerbase wants to raid, but c'mon - no new non-raid instances from DM to BC?  That was what, two years?  Raid or quit.  Most of the people I know chose quit, and the friends I have that chose raid are about to have their jobs and / or girlfriends quit them.

I guess it was to be expected when they gave the endgame reins to Togile and Furor.

Haha so funny how people say the game is dying when it is so untrue. Even when players leave there is more people joining so it doesn't have a large effect. Eventually if people persist in saying its dying it will happen.....Hmm but what year? well probably until Blizzard releases it's next mmorpg if not longer :).

WOW has undeniably been one of the most successful mmorpg's ever released in popularity and financial returns . It has been the most successful one so far this year and i wouldn't want to put money on it not being even next year. It's not coincidence it isn't even rated as one of the top games on this site. That has more to do with WOW players actually enjoying the game and not looking in forums. (I am only browsing here now while patch is being implemented.)

WoW isnt even on Highest Ranked MMORPGs on the sites home page. and WoW is dying. all of the older WoW veterans are quittig because of the BC. all of the new people joining the game are little kids who are amused by the fact that there are two different types of elf races. blizz has ruined a good game.

TBC in reality tried to bring  up and in  a way succeeded bringing a more "casual friendly" tone of the game, which is good in general. But they didn't add anything new or tried anything new. Just hired some hacks to make up some "lore" to justify their sloppiness

As for the being dead part, well a game that is a variation of diablo 2 I doubt it will be dead soon

WoW really though made PvP a boring one since there are no items to be found other than Arena's.

Well though to be fair the only way to really know if people started to get tired of it, it would be proven when other major titles start to come and see how much people will go there.

    Otherwise all it's just speculation.

All I can do is laugh at comments made like these and no sense in saying anything to go against it because people always have to have a reason to complain about a game.

Kids? hmm.. hate to burst everyones bubble but kids are playing just about any game on the market. The funny thing is a lot of the ass wipes in a game are adult who act like an ass. I have seen younger players play more mature and kick more ass then a lot of the so called adult players.

With a game like WoW and so many people playing you will notice it more plain and simple. More peeps playing = better chance of seeing the dipsticks. I see them but I ignore them, not hard to do. I would say the average age in my guild is upper 20 to mid 30, hell we even have a few people in the 50's so to say only kids play this game is just a way of making an excuse to break the addiction to the game.

Out of every 100 men, 10 should not be there,
80 are nothing but targets, 9 are the real fighters.
Ah, but one, ONE of them is a warrior,
and he will bring the others home.

IMHO Blizzard have ruined WoW in the latest 5 months or so.  They have taken pretty much everything that made the game what it was and changed it around.  No special classes as horde or Alliance.  2 years of 40 man raid content ruined in 2 weeks long before TBC ever came out.  And now a patch that is ruining the rest with a last ditch effort to balance a Expansion that was put out without fully tested.
TBC had so much potentials.. but it actually brought nothing new to the game.  Absolutly nothing.   For me its just a proof that its time to move on and find something new and exiting in a diffrent game.
    WoW is over !
    Buh bye.

Btw, 40 man raids were stupid.  Period.  The 10 man and 25 man raids are much better and more accessable to the vast majority of WoW players.  This is just another case of an uberl33t raider thats pissed that all their "work" got turned on its head.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

i still dont understand the whining....i mean back when WoW launched players wanted better end game content...they got it...soon after they complained. Then Blizzard announced a expansion...players wanted it...they got it....soon after they complained. The Vicious circle here is that there is no point in hoping for any sort of a "future" to WoW's game content when all the players will do is complain shortly after its released...either enjoy what you have or find something better to do...simple as that

For some reason I never take editors reviews seriously. I think it's because they are paid to hype games and this in return makes their hypes washed out and not well thought through.  The impression I always get from News Paper, Magazine and other editors is just not substinant at all,  it feels like they are jumping on the band wagon to get people to read their work.  I could be wrong.  Just it's the way I feel about editors reviews.

Oh yeah.... Plus, I also believe that TBC killed WoW.  I thought the old grind for gear battlegrounds was fun..this new stuff just isn't cutting it for me.  I never really raided much I was more for PVP. So now that WoW is more of a PVE same ol' sh*t type game.  I say no thank you and goodbye.

The end of October of last year my EverQuest guild was going through serious changes... the servers had lost roughly 60%-70% of the players they had in their heyday... and things were really really slow. So I decided to retire, and not go back. Most of my friends in game had done this months before, and I had been hanging on a long time even as it was... so through Christmas I was talking to everyone I met that played MMOs, kicking ideas back and forth, seeing what else was out there.

The weeks before TBC all I heard from ANYONE was how amazing WoW was, what a great game it was, and how glad they all were to be playing it. Seriously, I talked to ONE guy working at a GameStop that did not like WoW... that was the only negative thing I got from ANYONE.

So, in Feb 2007 I decided that EVERYONE aside from one guy at GameStop could not be wrong, and started a WoW account.

Now let's flash forward to last week.

I have now quit WoW myself. 100% of that guy at GameStop's ideas of what was wrong with WoW before the expansion, I totally agree with. Dumbed down MMO for beginners? Check. Lack of endgame content? Check. Seriously unbalanced PvP? Check.

But before TBC... EVERYONE ELSE LOVED IT. So only the seriously hardcore had the issues with it he had... and I had...

However... since TBC... HOW many people have just flat QUIT WoW?

    Read this website.

Of the people I know, it is prolly about 20% of those that loved WoW before that have badmouthed it alot, or quit altogether. I was playing with 8 people I knew in RL on their server of choice... before I quit WoW 5 of them were already gone.

There are alot of good points floating around this thread. Several of the points are very accurate.

TBC is not at all the only game that made the "Endgame raiding gear" obsolete with the expansion. In fact EVERY SINGLE MMO in the history of games does this to some degree.

However, every other game in history has not been by design aimed at "the masses" by and large.

World of Warcraft is aimed exactly thus.

So the people that constantly say "stop whining about (fill in the blank) because games like (fill in the blank) have been doing this for YEARS! This is nothing new!" need to consider this: There were games before WoW doing this yes. But the people that play WoW, for the MOST part, never played them. And they really feel cheated because the months of MC and BWL they commited to are now pointless.

EverQuest actually peaked at around 550,000. This was the biggest US based MMORPG before WoW. Over 175,000 still play. These were the most hardcore MMORPG folks I have ever worked with in any game. Let's imagine for a moment... if all 550,000 had gone straight to Warcraft, there are over 7.5 million WoW subscribers (according to Blizz) right now. This means... 7 million that never saw EQ. But the half million that DID play EQ would have expected TBC to do what it did... outdate their existing "uber" gear. Well... Add Ultima Online... 6 and a half million that never saw UO or EQ. Add Lineage? So, we have at LEAST 4 and a half million WoW players that never saw Lineage, EQ, or UO... And prolly about 3.5 million that never saw ANY MMORPG at all before WoW. Now those numbers are extremely conservative, because I was assuming (incorrectly) that EVERY SINGLE player from EQ, UO, and Lineage all went to WoW. They did not. So that 3.5 million is the VERY MINIMUM number of first time MMORPG players that went to WoW.

And every single one of them was unprepared for the heartbreak of seeing all their prior work getting pre-TBC gear vaporize when TBC came out.

    Just something to think about.

My god, why does everyone see it fit to create their own personal thread about an issue that has been discussed about 10,000 times. Jesus. We don't need to know your opinion on the matter, and if you'd like to give it to us please show us in a reply and not a new thread. K Thx Bia.

Lol, except you'll "grind" on PvP in WAR, which will cause it to always be fun and challenging(!!!). You know, because you actually have a threat that wants to kill you, not some Bot who wants to steal some of your time before it dies and gives its' loot to you.

here it goes again and here i say it again.  the inevitable thing that will eventually kill all games even wow is time.  we do not know when this time is now or 10 years from now but it will come.

burning crusade was a waste of time.  they completely turned the story around for no reason. also they just pulled a random race out of the blue and made them crash on an island that came out of nowhere.  this is what they should of done.  made goblins the new race for horde and blood elf for alliance.  then put death knight for the undead for horde and blood mage or somthin for blood elf for alliance.  that way it would of made sense and the horde and alliance still had their own unique features.

    /amen brother.

Oh how happy I was when the Expansion Info about Goblins being the new Race popped up...and then a day later it said "April fools!"...

    Hah...Hah... yeah, funny... -.-

Hero Classes would've been great for the AddOn, making both Realms unique again, but instead, they now are EXACT copies of each other, not even Shamans and Paladins stayed unique...

WoW died a long time ago for me, but I kept playing it because nothing else worth playing was out...but at some time I really couldn't stand it anymore...

This is what soured me on WoW. I know a lot of people love to knock the game, but I had a ton of fun with it for a good year and a half. BC just seemed like an extremely lazy effort on Blizzard's part. They didn't have to take chances because of their dominant status in the industry, but that same status afforded them the opportunity to do something really exciting and new for WoW players. Instead, they rested on their laurels. They've still got the subscriptions, so they must have done something right. Maybe I'm just too finicky a player.

It was over for me as well when i found out there was not going to be Hero classes, The first day that I logged on to WOW I had it in mind having a Hero in my control. I played WOW for over 2.5 years "may be more if you could all the betas I was in" sitting by with every update and class revamp. The whole time Hero Classes were on the bottom of the list and one day gone.  I have to say i had fun playing WoW and I am just hard headed enough to not ever play it even if they release a hero update. Hope i find another game that will give me the fun that WOW, and all the past MMO game be before I stopped playing them.

Sure, WoW is still one of the most populated Games ever, but many of us former WoW Players find that WoW could be much much better by now than it actually is, because it added basically no new Gameplay Features at all, maybe apart from Arena Battles.

Siege Equipment, Hero Classes, Player Housing, all of those things were promised for release, then promised for one of the first Patches, then promised for the next big content patch, then promised for the AddOn, and then somewhere Blizzard seemed to forget completely about it...Instead what did they add? 1 already existing class for the other side, 1 race per side, with Blood Elves clearly being "Hm, Alliance is too popular, that's unbalanced, we need some Beatiful, classy new Race for the Horde so more people join it", more Dungeons, more monsters, one hell of more Reputation-Farming. Then the new Dungeons all over again with Heroic Dungeons...

You could've left WoW after 2 months, if you'd come back now, there is nothing that would make you say: "Wow, that's so cool", it's basically still all the same, only more.

I think many of us expected more from "The Blizzard MMO", at least I did.
