I have heard countless people already saying most of its more of the same but if I were in Blizzards spot I would do the very same. SC2 is a huge reputation to make a sequel to so adding a few new units with better graphics seems like a safe business plan.
By the time SC hit, I was pretty well RTS'd out. Yeah, it was a good one, but there were just so many, and I still fall on the side of TA being the best of the bunch. I wasn't too good at them either, and the RTS was the death of my first-love of computer gaming: turn-based wargames. Those great games from Talonsoft, for example. Chess with bigger boards and a WHOLE lot more variety and pieces. Too bad nobody managed to save that genre. I still keep an old Windows95/DOS box around to run them, Xcom and the Generals. Oh, Gary Gygax' World at War still runs on XP. Almost forgot the big daddy of them all. JA runs too. But I sure do miss Xcom.

Before WoW was released blizzard made "the frozen throne" expansion for WC3 that put in most of the lore and characters we all know from WoW....
....Starcraft as it stood did not have the depth, locations or characters to be translated to an MMO, so perhaps SC2 will fill in the gaps ready for SC-Online?

The Wow Xpac might be one of my predictions as hinted in the Collector's Edition DVD (2004). Ahoy! The Diablo project will be massive. Literally. In the meantime, take that as rumor."

Incorrect. The story, characters, and locations behind Starcraft and Starcraft BW were more than sufficient to make an MMO out of it. Blizzard chose not to and I doubt they will any time soon if ever with SC2 out. I admit I'd been hoping for a SC MMO but that possibility is gone. Don't give up hope on a Diablo MMO though.
If it will be a good RTS I'll buy it. I'm pretty crappy at rts, but I enjoy a good rts. If you go to Gametrailers and check the newest movie you'll see it's the Starcraft trailer, suppose it can be found elsewhere too.
I guess blizzard show more respect to their korean audience...another rts.. wow big deal..it looks like a clone of wh40k....now a diablo or starcraft mmo would of been worthwhile news....definitely not getting excited over an rts..maybe if it was warcraft 4....i hated the starcraft rts so this news is a bit of an anti-climax.

it will be a diablo mmo for sure now...its diablo's turn next....and if the next game is sc online it wont be for another 10 years.
Really looking forward to SC2 for me, i love how the story evolves ( maybe im simple ) .
But sad that there's no new race, because im really looking forward to what Duran have said about a new and more powerful race (maybe a mixture of zerg and protoss, rem they are created by the xel'naga) coming, and sarah looking blank waiting for the new fate that awaits her.... all the build up to sc2... hmm... maybe it will be out in sc2 expansion i guess....
I played original starcraft many years. Then I got bored with it and the genre altogether. SC2 is just redecorated SC1 with few gameplay tweaks. No thanks. RTS game is soo 90's.
