See earlier post. By their own definition they have 9 million active accounts.

Over the past 2+ years Ive heard great excuses on why WOW doesnt have 1 mill, 2 mill , 3 mill , 4 mill etc etc active customers. Each excuse is always good for a laugh.....give us yours.
Oh i have no excuses i just know better then to believe a company that i have no connection too at all i know they love making up big numbers as a way to push things up what company would think to ever really say dam where losing too much money then post it...yeah that would be great for there business...

Subscription number and revenue is the best method at evaluating success and how good a game is. There is no real other form the quantatively measure this. Aside from this method its only "I Feel" and "I Think" which really isn't as supportive. Like you can think Dark and Light is the best game ever, but its crappy subscription numbers and negative revenue suggest otherwise.
All the money WoW gets goes into supporting Vivendis other crappy games like "Harry Potter Widget Racing"

Hmm then you should change your signature to World of Warcraft is the Greatest game ever made. Shouldn't you Cleffy?
Currently playing: LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)
Looking Foward too: Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)

You'd be surprised just how many people leave their account open who don't actually play the game any longer. I can think of five accounts which are currently open, but completely unactive. Not going to argue whether or not WoW really does have 9 million open accounts, it probably does, but that doesn't mean it has 9 million happy little WoW fans.
Yeah sure im hater label me it dont bother me none but i can say im no fanboy of any online game so go figure........you keep paying 15 bucks for a game with no real pvp alot of bugs dealing with pvp that they have never fixed nor will they fix so i salute your fanboy defense......
Oh im sure the internet police is going to go after them oh man I can see it now...
What you talking about willis?
It isn't the inet police. If you know anything about business Blizzard couldn't post those numbers if not true and not get in trouble for posting false information to their stock holders.
What a load of crap, they do not have 9 million subscribers lol If they did their wouldnt be so many dead realms, they should just admit that half those subsribers arent active, or are the same person buying multiple accounts, aka gold farmers most likely.
4 million maybe even 5 million active subscribers world wide maybe, but like i said, if their was 9 million active subscribers to the game half the servers wouldnt be ghost towns.
It all comes down to concurrency. As games mature the number of concurrent players, meaning the amount of players on at any given time, will tend to drop. Games will appear to lose subs but they may just be losing concurrent players.
I'm not sure what I dislike hearing more, how great WoW is from people or how the sky is falling in game X (in this case WoW).
Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.

So they leave them open and don't play. That is an active account. You can't blame Blizzard for that only the fool you say don't like the game but keeps paying for it.

Yes Arioch, I'm sure a company like Blizzard can get away with making false press releases....

I'm not blaming Blizzard, I'm just stating a simple fact. Not every single one of those accounts is ACTIVE (as in a human being actually playing it). That's all.
Wow stockholders lol...ok your killing me hold on min im still lmao ok ok mmmm no stilling lmao....Oman yeah ok im good now i think someone needs a doctor checkup there hmmmm maybe doctor wow will help you i hear hes really good...hes served 9 million customers nightly oh wait im starting to laugh again lmao......!!!!!!!
I'd say the only thing wrong with TBC is the fact that there's so many rep grinds which totally ruin it for me. They have, however, improved on the quality of gear that any player can get which is a good thing. Tell me.. did they really add nothing in TBC? - Flying mounts Killed World PvP
- Lvl 70 It's kinduv like lvl 60, don't you think?
- Quests that give great rewards that put noobs pre-BC up to par with raiders in T1/2 when expansion released Ok, the gear curve tightened up...for like three months. Now it's back where it was.
- A ton of 5-mans, with heroics for lvl 70s This was good. Though, even now I'm getting a little tired of them. Rewards can only supplement raid gear, not match.
- Improved PvP items and system. It's now much easier to get pvp items. Although they're not as great as PvE items ( Obviously ), they're still easy enough to get for casuals Easier, yes. But they are still worse then raid gear, and they still take a long time to grind. WoW has one of the sharpest gear curves in MMOs, where having a tier or two over your opponent is a guaranteed win if your not retarded. And I'm sorry I can't grind the same exact BGs anymore, especially the broken AV.
- Arenas. Nothing like an old style 2v2, 3v3, 5v5.. 5v5 is where skill shines. Casual friendly as well. Play 10 games a week to get points. If you suck it will take you forever to get an item, but that's life. Sorry, but arena is horrible. I bought the expansion just for it and what a big letdown. For starters, its really nothing more then a test of class composition. You usually know who wins when you enter the game just by looking at the composistion. And all classes are not created equal. Druids, rogues, warlocks, and hunters can't compete in 5v5. None of the top teams want them. Very few want them for 3v3 either (except warlock). Sorry, 2v2 gives shit for points (and is just a test of class combo versus class combo anyway). On top of that, of the classes that are allowed to play in arena they HAVE to be the right spec. We all know what the perfect specs for pvp are. So yes, if you are one of the chosen classes, you know four other top notch players of the exact right classes that are willing to spec a certain way and can be on at the same time every week.....the arena system is great. You can fight teams that are virtually the same and use roughly the same strat and get a bunch of points each week. Don't even get me started on how season 2 doesn't match up to new raid gear.
- Resilience to scale crits Ok
- Karazhan, and a good amount of 25 mans, with a new 10man coming soon Khara was the only good thing out of that expo (though they could have left out the damn keying process and lockout timer)
- Heroic rewards for the non raiders, which by the way, aren't that bad. Think we already covered this.
- Made professions actually worthwhile.. Profession = Farmathon. Kill mobs, get gold, buy mats, make same sword every single warrior has. Yawn.
- Other things I forgot about.. PvP sounds easy as hell to implement in theory, but it's not. There's many factors involved; balancing each and every class, items, etc.. Honestly, Blizzard has tried promoting world PvP. There's world pvp objectives practically in every zone in outlands, it's just nobody does it. Is that blizzards fault? Perhaps, but you can't say they didn't try.. Honestly, what else could you want? The world pvp in outlands gives your faction buffs, with rewards as well, which is practically what Warhammer will also have but implemented differently, yet Warhammer gets all the hype. I'll laugh when Warhammer becomes a big pvp disappointment because it's almost exactly what WoW has. People don't participate in World PvP because there is no incentive and the mechanics are messed up. First, you can't capture any territory except Halaa. Second, there is basically no reward that would even come close to what you'd get doing something else in that same time. Third, with flying mounts there really is no pvp. If your in danger you mount up and fly away. Is PvP hard to balance, yeah. But blizzard never made an effort. They have CLEARLY said that they balance the game around PvE raiding and only make PvP changes if it doesn't interfere with PvE. That isn't a recipe for a good PvP game. Most WoW pvp consists of CC spamming followed by an assist train designed to kill someone within a few seconds. This isn't very stimulating, fun, or skillfull. I'm no fan boy but when people bash WoW for stupid reasons, I have to post. WoW was a great first MMO. It was my first MMO. However, you can only take so much repitition, and WoW is basically a repitition machine at endgame.

Actually it shows you have no clue what a company can do and cant any company can fix the numbers however they want no ones really looking anyway so you talking a mute point.....just go back your fairy tale land of wow and kill some trolls or maybe a sheep and someday you might learn that not eveyone tells the truth...
