Still don't know why this site is so anti-wow. I mean the pure facts are there showing it is the best mmo out there for the mas majority of people in the world. Blizzard, as well as their followers, just laugh at you when you rant how bad WoW is because well they make around 54 bucks every minute and we have fun with what they make.
Honestly WoW is so big it will never really die. There will always be followers no matter what because of all the years we have already spent there and all the friends we have made. I really like WAR, but i really love WoW and i love WoW for its people and my guild so at this moment i am sticking to WoW. I swear it reminds me of junior high and high school where all the emo kids sat around looking at the "Cool kids" saying "Look at them they are so stupid, i hate them" i know this cause i was one of those "emo kids" lol. Anyway just thought i'd put in my two cents i know it won't stop the hate from this website on WoW, but meh i feel better lol.

WoW is claimed to be the number 1 mmo by all mainstream gaming sites, all magazines, all tv shows and by most of the population. There is a point when opinion becomes fact. Although, sure some people don't like WoW, but why rant how bad wow is? Just go on playing your game like we do and have fun doing what you do.

I think if any MMO will its WAR, if Darkfall can deliver everything they promised i think it might be the most popular MMO ever.
Lets face it, WOW was a good start mmo. but people want something new and their expansions suck. just the same old stuff and you have to do the whole grind over since all your gear is useless and your not max lvl. Bigest downfall for wow will probley be hero class, Will unbalance the game so much.
I can't see WoW ever closing, just a lot of updates. I wish they'd work on some of the effects however. New content is great and it is hard when you max out, to find exploring fun. WAR does seem to be attracting some attention though. Perhaps it will loss a few players but nothing damaging.
There is a game for everyone, some games just have more followers.

Star Trek Online, if it's as good a game in gameplay as WoW, has a chance to make a dent. Given the very poor track record of games based on the Star Trek IP, there is good reason not to be optimistic.
For a game to challenge WoW it has to be something to capture the imagination of the public outside of the MMO playerbase (which in a sense doens't include WoW's playerbase) in the setting of the game, as well as very fluid and accessable gameplay to pose any sort of threat to WoW.
AoC's setting is not quite high profile pop culture wise to make that leap, but with outstanding gameplay it certainly could be a contender. The Conan movies did not take the country by storm, which means that gameplay will have to carry much of the load. WoW's strength is not in its lore, as much as its gameplay.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

Completely true. Until the next expansion I will be quitting WoW(I am not a hardcore raider) and in the meantime I'll be playing Hellgate: London.
I might also try WAR when it comes out but hardcore pvp isn't my thing either.
Conclusion: Why can't we play any and all games that we want and stop this "contest" about "best?"

Warhammer is just a WoW 1,5 or smthing so i try it when it comes out but i think i stick with WoW. The Agency looks owsome coz i like fps :P and The Cronicles Of Spellborn Looked much better than Warhammer imo .. not stupid stycky targeting.
although I don't like wow or play it I will have to admit it's going to take more then those to smash down WoW. For example in EQ1 days once DAOC came out EQ saw a slow decline in their population (sure there were still new players but not the amount as before) and with each new mmo this continued untill what we have now which is about a 150k sub game now probably. That took almost 5 year! EQ had about 600k subscribers and it took 6 years to loose them, how long do you think it's going to take for wow to loose theirs? I'm guessing at least another 3 years.
