I wanna be one of the first to get the game , my first main focus would be to get the skills so that i can build the city in a really good place (near a lake or ocean) , after that I'll focus on running my guild, and Expanding my empire
So, Asp is apparently going to publish a review based on his experiences with the demo of Darkfall, correct? I am interested in what he has to say and hope he gets home soon to write it.
This update, however, was more of a "non-update" than anything.
He said:
- I had no time to make a proper instalment (avoids releasing real information)
- We are working on the game (I should hope so)
- Beta will be announced soon after some conditions are met (soon or "soon?")
- A guy visited and played a demo (but we will not show you video of the demo, or screenshots)
It is rather disappointing that this update was so uninformative and generic that I could have written it without being on the Darkfall development team. It strikes me as odd that he had to dodge out of giving any new, real information or media. Even a snippet of information, which could take all of two minutes to write, would have been nice. What is the excuse for not giving that? He signed on to do a dev journal, so it is fair to expect real information.
Anyway, assuming every word is true, they are now relying on a player who played a demo to essentially review their pre-beta product.
That makes about as much sense as ducks wearing long pants. At this stage they are far better off doing their own marketing and publicity, which is as simple as showing off the game they are so proud of. The game is so revolutionary and feature-filled there should be tons to show off, or at least talk about.

For a game that is on the verge of beta, it seems to have little to show, especially if one uses the logic that many have in previous threads: "They have internally tested it so well that the game is practically done and beta will be short, so beta will be 6 months or less instead of the 9-12+ months others project." I disagree with that logic, but those who spout it should recognize that, if it were true, then the game is closing in on complete and should be able to demonstrate its major game systems.
Still, despite all of the fishiness, I am interested in this forthcoming review, which should follow Asp returning home from his business trip.

Wow this part is just COMPLETELY void of logic. How are people going to question the game's existance when someone has just played it? Missing deadlines comes with the profession just look at other games. AoC missed its date 5 times. Guess what? Ever hear of a game called The Chronicle? By some flunky, full of crap devs named MMOcenter/Rapid Reality? Those of us who pre-ordered their soon to be found non-existant game asked continually for proof of the game on their forums. All we got were one or two screenshots, some concept art(sound familiar to Darkfall, yet?), and a whole lot of "features lists". Then they decided to fly some "random" guy to their studio to play the game, so he could tell us it was in fact real and totally awesome. Which he did tell us. Until we found out later, because we questioned those devs the same as DF devs are being questioned here: why should we believe one dude who says he saw it and played it, when we can't eveb get a damn video? Few weeks later, site shut down after it was announced that The Chronicle was nowhere. So, I'd say the one completely void of logic is the DF fanboi who's forum name really does describe him. He's not the only one who has played this game. Also DF has shown videos of these features. Also there is proof of DF in production which that game didnt have so how does this connect to DF? Pick a better example next time. On the contrary this dev update shows that there is actually a game. Glad you see it, cause most of the rest of us don't

Based on my experience neither history nor faith is 100% accurate as to predic the future. If you don't trust the devs Zorvan, I suggest you use your energy elsewhere. Even if it may seem like a failure to the trolls, I think the very concept is something that is worth supporting, if you can't take that then bugger off and make a discussion privately in MSN or something, if we're such fanbois then what makes you think that we're any likely to believe you? This thread was originally made to discuss the journal 15 that was RECENTLY RELEASED but all you lot did was come in and slam darkfall for no sodding reason, sorry, but you were in the wrong the moment you said "Darkfall is vaporware" without even bothering to back up your comments properly or look where you were posting, your rather pathetic prejudice of the skill based sandbox genre is likely to end you up with less friends than you started since this is practically the only real way this genre is going to have some innovation in it, this isn't just trolling anymore, your deliberately trying to harass a game without reason.

Sorry, but even if Gl0 didn't spam, it was simple outright trolling, he/she did NOT backup their comments properly and they did NOT bring up any facts to back up her/his comments even when others did, there's no point in trying to justify it, it wasn't the spamming that did it it was the fact that Gl0 was constantly trying to attack any thread that had a conversation about darkfall in it.
