Hmmmm bored by lvl 6 eh?  Sad that you weren't getting any money at such a high lvl while killing the bunnies? And swindling a lvl1 player? Makes sense... if you can't be happy why not make everyone else miserable too eh? Well, I'm happy you quit the game cuz I would have hated to run into you.  As a player sir, you suck.

I thought it was boring. The game just got alot harder as i leveled and too complicated. i got about level 8, the towns are like 20 mins to go through running wise. stuff was really expensive and i kept dying. i guess i was just a n00b that got tired of it. wasted my money ::::07::

  • LiquidoLiquido Member UncommonPosts: 11

I played Thief to lvl30 then i did ninja quest and leveld ninja up to 32 then i leveled Thief to 48. The last levels where bad...i never found a group..( I'm from Europe ). Then i decided to play beastmaster so i can play solo, till late in the evening when the US people come online.

I played bst to 56 and whm to 38 i played brd to 37

You can play what ever job you want it's realy not different...FFXi battle is just boring...no tactics, no kitting, no dungeon crawl...

    Well now i have a problem..what shall i play till EQ2?

  • BladinBladin Member UncommonPosts: 1,089

i Quit mainly because of the party issues, and at first the idea of being able to change class at any time would make it awesome, (clone army, personally if they made it more like FFT only with ALOT more classes and more job levels  between the next job id love it, but as it is now, im just bored.)

Now one thing im wondering, Knives i hate FFXI it is overall a very poor mmorpg.  It has alot of good ideas but overall it just didn't pull them off.  Does that make me a EQ fanboy?  well? no it doesnt, in truth i have never played everquest, not once in my entire life.  Your main arguement was that we are all EQ fanbois, but that is in fact a idiotic statement, i dont have to LOVE EQ to HATE FFXI.  that kinda makes you a FFXI FANBOI doesnt it? =/

btw im playing astonia right now =D

This will be my last month playing FFXI. Here are a few of my reasons:

    1) Hate feeling as if I have to play the game just because I'm paying for it each month. It just takes all the fun out of it.

    2) I'm bored of it. I've gotten 2 jobs to level 20 and it just seems to be the same thing over and over.

3)Can't get anywhere in the game alone. Without my linkshells help, I would probaly still be a level 10 thief.

    2 major reasons:

    1. lack of mob models. killing crabs pretty much your entire career has a way of slowly driving one insane.

    2. lvling post 50 was super boring. (see 1 above.)

I don't know, but I'm starting to feel that all these mmos are a big lvl grind. Sure, some look nicer than

others, but in the end you're doing the same exact thing. The sad part is that some are these games

become really hard work for you to lvl up, and there are people out there that will play 24/7 to get to the

highest lvl the fastest. I don't have a lot of hours during the week to spend on all this lvl grinding in these

mmos, but I'm a fan of rpgs and love how you basically play in this online world. I've never been really

good at games like Halo, it gets pretty frustrating when you die 10 times in a row by the same guy.

  • LiquidoLiquido Member UncommonPosts: 11

Yes true most mmorpg are a level grid, but some it is easier and there is a reward if you have done it and some there isn't

in ffxi you have a very slow broing level grid and as a reward you get nothing then satification that you did it. You won't go raid with 18 others...best you do is soem dynmaic or some NM's.

in EQ the level grid is there, but currently it's much much smaller since they increased the gained xp during levels. They also removed some years ago the hell level which where supposently harder then the others. And if you reached max lvl you can go raid high content and a ton of content, also you can still progress you char with sklills.

AC2 is also very pretty nice. There is a level grid but you can boost your xp income with Quests. Quests give reward and XP and some level you will just finish by doing a couple of Quest which are very well designed. About the end game i must say, i don't know much about it since i only started this game some weeks ago. But the classes/Jobs in this game are realy uniq and a must seen!!!

Lol, Tiamat is a unique enemy monster, with a personality. its not like you could fight him over and over again. A bit like an Omega Weapon. As for Bahamut, well he shoulda been in the avatars! But I wonder what hell be doing in CoP, I think he wont be a summon. But yeah, they could have put at least one or two more avatars.

And I read some people talking about leaving this game for CoH.... OMG How can someone in his right mind do that? CoH has character customisation and thats it.... you would sacrifice gameplay, beautiful landscapes, comunity, and everything else for character costumisation?

If you see me walking towards you, be at guard. If you also see my Blade, you should concider fleeing.

Let me just say something. Just because all of you Evercrackhead fans out there Don't enjoy beutifull masterpiece like FFXi does not mean you can go around forums and making a thread like this.

Uh, looks like they just did! So YOU like FF11. Great, whoopie. You like it, and that means it's a masterpiece, right?

Guess what, I hate both games. EQ moreso than FF11, but both games are absolutely awful.

Many of you people out there take mmorpgs as if they were like an action games and the thread starter this is really immature of you and if you waited for a taru for their eyes to glow go and play WoW.

I can personally guarantee you WoW will not have glowing-eyed Tarus.

These are all stupid reasons you all quit FFXi. lazy people... level grind.. what an excuse huh.. from what i can see MANY people in this forum don't know what is an mmorpg.

No, they're all legitimate reasons to quit FF11. I'd say if you don't like a game, if it's boring you, you quit playing it. I don't think we should play this game just because some random jackass on here thinks it's a "masterpiece."
Also, from what I can see, EVERYBODY on this forum knows what an MMORPG is. Otherwise they would not be on this website.

now I want to know what mmorpg out there has a unique story like FFXI? come on tell me.

Wow, The "SHADOW LORD" wants to take over the world! That's something to be proud of, alright! How about unique gameplay? FF11 basically MIMICS Everquest.

and EQ is *SUPPOSED* to be the 2 mmorpg in the world with most players( lineage 1 is in first place) but FFXI has been here since 2 years ago and is already beaten EQ wich has been around since 1999 :).

Prove it. Show us some numbers.

now another Important thing about FFXI is that you can get in and out whenever you want you dont have to be a hardcore-ever-crack-head fanboi to have fun.

Bullshit. You need to party to get anywhere in this game. In order to be effective in a party and get invites, your equipment must ALWAYS be up-to-date, if you're a mage you must have practically EVERY spell you can learn at your level, you're supposed to use food, use your abilities a certain way every battle, and know where to fight at your level. I should mention all of the equipment, items, and spells you need require tons of Gil - which requires hours of farm, or eventually, a craft that costs millions of money before you can make any.
Oh, and your job combination sucks, and nobody likes you. Have fun sitting and waiting hours for a party, only for the party to disband. Sorry, waiting hours for a party because my job sucks or because the demand for my job is less than the supply, does not constitute a "masterpiece." It constitutes a "waste of time."

"Get in and out" my pasty white ass.

I wonder how can people enjoy such a crappy game like EQ? is just crap. I consider FFXI the best mmorpg right now.

FF11 is basically a smaller EQ with chocobos and an easier learning curve. While it's definately the better game of the two, it also sucks just a LITTLE less than EQ.

and not to mention the part that most people just want to PK (backstab) other players and steal their hardearned items well no. Don't expect this to happen in FFXI. Now this is what i call an mmorpg.

Oops, we all just died because a monster spawned on top of us while we were fighting something else. Time to re-earn all of that Exp again.

they have cool events like the one happening right now (summerfest-ends august 8) soo many events and cool things to do.

Oh MAN. Summerfest!!! So I can like, watch FIREWORKS in a computer game!! And I can run around invisible in a cave trying to find an invisible target to click! That is, if I can find enough of the right players to do this quest OVER AND OVER again with.

Tell me what other events are "cool to do." Keep in mind I said "cool to do," not "inane and repetitive."

In FFXI you actually have a reason to play in EQ you dont. Or any other mmorpg out there right now. now if ANYONE can tell me why the heck EQ is better I would be so greatfull..

I won't tell you why EQ is better, because I hate EQ. I will, however, gladly go on for days on why FF11 is a terrible, horrible, no-good bad game. Go ahead, ask me.

BTW i luv this game image, your problem is you never found a good LS.

But ok, GL searching for your perfect MMORPG image

  • JoshFatalJoshFatal Member Posts: 42

No,  my problem is the game sucked. Being in a good LS doesn't help the game at all for me. It just means I have more opportunities to camp the same overpopulated monster spawn areas.

You know, assuming I play the game enough to keep up with my LS-mates. There is that whole three-level difference.

  • ZordhasZordhas Member Posts: 40
JoshFatal, you ar ejsut as childish as Knives on this one. One praises a good game by flaming another, and the other is just downright negative. Ok Ok, I hear ya you dont like the game, but you take some aspects far too badly. Thats all

If you see me walking towards you, be at guard. If you also see my Blade, you should concider fleeing.

Wow, this popcorn looks good! I think I'll eat it!

  • JoshFatalJoshFatal Member Posts: 42

How exactly am I being childish? I don't like the game, and I'm expressing my distaste in it (along with defending my distates as something other than "I didn't find a good Linkshell.")

Expressing a negative opinion about something doesn't make one childish or immature (especially seeing as how I didn't really do it in a childish manner at all.) Of course, since (I'm guessing) you like FF11, you'll see it as otherwise, I'm sure.

I'm not going to go being positive about a game that I've had a load of negative experiences with. There's nothing wrong with being "downright negative." FF11 is just a really bad game, and I'm one of the many who see through the veil it puts up to make itself look like it's worth the money. Trashing on a game that deserves it isn't any more childish than, say, making yourself look like some dangerous sword-toting mercenary in your signature on a video game forum.

Oh brother that stupid graph has been used so many times by FFXI fanbois and its been proven to be WRONG!  Those stats for FFXI are characters, not accounts.  Nice try though.  FFXI is total crap, worst MMORPG I've ever played.

I was a PS2er, I began play in the first week of play. From then until the end of august was bliss. I managed to get my Elvaan to be a lvl 32 war, 15 mnk, and 13 nin. Sadly, that damned thing we know as school came around, and I was forced to quit for the sake of my grades. *Sigh* I miss you XI...

Disliking ffxi because soloing was next to impossible,i understand you dont have this problem if you have big ls that plays at same time as you.But what if im in the mood to be alone or kill by myself. Camping of monsters,i dont think i really need to say anyting about this one(we all know how it is).The monsters are always the same, from lvl 1-60atleast.The same type of monster over and over and over and they look just like the one 10 lvl lower.Come on atleast change the color or something.Zoning,i really dislike zoning and was a problem when i started playign EQ.I dislike asking everytime i zone for ppl to repat what they said or have to tell everyone in ls when im going to zone(yes i relize this prolly not a big deal to most ppl).Quests really arent that good and not much point to do pointless quests so you can raise fame so you can do more pointless quests. The rewards just didnt seem like the waste of time for the quests.

I do like the charcter set up for ffxi, and think that ffxi does have alot of +'s but this is the why i stopped playing ffxi reply so i wont list good things.::::31::

I played FFxi for over a year, and got to level 60 three times.

I quit because the time you invest, in the end, does not equal what you receive as a reward. When I've played a game for over 100 real days, I'd expect to feel like it was worth it.

Still, I'm a little disapointed because FFxi is a great game in many aspects...but in the end, I just don't find it worth my time.

I quit because the level grind was unbearable and boring. The ability to solo after level 20 is not an option.
You are forced to group, but most of the time you can't because you have to be a certain class to even get a group. Only good thing I can say is that this game has good graphics and runs fairly well. The servers are very stable, with hardly any LDs at all. The game just got boring really fast.

id like to agree and say i disliked this game VERY much.  i got bored at just lv 17with my elvan WAR.   I use to play EQ so i guess i expected more out of this game because its a newer game.  i was WRONG.  you cant even SWIM or JUMP in this game, COME ON!!! how can i adventure for REAL.  lets say i got on the boat by accident and i wanted to jump off , then fight off the sharks , and make my way to land.  now thats a fun RPG.  So it beats me why the ppl INGAME love it so much.  Not only is the gameplay horrible but the community really does blow many of u said already.  Being an exEQ player im use to a more mature and FRIENDLIER community.  i wish i still had EQ image  .....waiting for EQ2,,,,waiting.....waiting......stilll waiting....COME ON EQ 2....think im gonna re instal EQ live....but anyways lol, FF11 sucks real bad.
