Just another thing I'd like to add. LOTRO took 5 years to make, not that its a bad game I really like it, but does it even have 30% of the features Darkfall wishes to have? I dont think so...
Now decide, whether you're gonna remain to be a troll that says its never coming out ... Or will you finally agree that it IS being made, just taking darn long.
P.S. Please do not post senseless one sentence posts like "ITS NOT COMING" without having seen all of the videos/screenies/readups ive posted.

Oh and if you guys really liked that and are waiting for Darkfall, may I suggest getting Fury.
I bought it 2 days back and am enjoying it alot, it will definately keep my interest till Darkfall is out.
check your vid dates. they're all really old.
dev journals arent really that good since that has nothing to do with the game other than show that there are people.
and the preview, well yeah they met with the people but the stuff they said is the same stuff they've been saying forever.

Yes some of the videos are old, but that doesn't necessarily make a difference. Im just trying to prove that Darkfall exists.
Also Dev journals have everything to do with this game NOT being vaporware.

proves they are still working on it and thats good.However, its been worked on and revamped and reworked for the better part of a decade.
Its just whether or not they will actually release it. Do I think its vaporware? well... no not yet... but its definitely going the route of duke nukem forever atm. Hopefully the devs will make some steps to fix the general perception.

Actually, i can't think of a single MMORPG that went so far as to take out full page, color ads in Games for Windows, actually put the pre-order boxes in the stores, invited tons of people into the beta...... and then ...went on the shelf.....But the lesson learned is.... if it happened to GandH...it can happen to any game.... so I'll believe that DF (and WAR/AOC for that matter) are really coming out when the servers go live.....

Correct me if im wrong but didn't the people who were developing Gods and Heroes also were working on other games at the time? Which means they have the ablity to just close shop like that unlike aventurine which would pretty much go bankrupt. Of course I'm not saying it couldnt happen just that its more likely for game developers that have worked or are working on other games.

The Problem is not Darkfall, the thing here to understand that there are many people some of whom are paid that are trying to discredit this game and have been doing so from the beginning. Seriously there's more then enough info on this game and the features it has, god knows how many interviews, houndreds of screenshots and 5 official movies. The info has been pouring out over the years and the game is still in development, I don't know of any other company that offered this much info prior to closed beta not 1.
And yet people keep showing up on forums and saying how vids, info, dev updates, feature list, screenshots don't matter. We have people coming in and impersonating other people, telling lies about how DF Developers tried to sell their game, spreading rumors about the company not being a real company, about how there are no real offices in Greece, telling lies about trademark ownership. We even experianced Age of Conan Developers harassing Darkfall and it's staff and posting bullshit on their forums. I can go on and on but I wont.
It is complete hilarity to believe that something does not exist when in fact it was proven countless times that it does.

Problem is over the past 5 - 7 years the ss's have changed DRAMATICALLY. The engine has been reworked at least twice.
The issue here is saying beta is out soon, take beta invites, 2 years go by...etc etc. Also having this Asp guy go out to their HQ instead of a real interviewer like Gamespy, Gamespot, IGN, Gameinformer, PC Gamer...anyone with real credentials. Instead we get a "Well know guild's guild member has an exclusive"

As for features and dev blogs... I personally have several large text files on my laptop that have a good portion of my game that I hope to one day work on. Everything from combat systems, looting, guilds, pvp, politics etc. But atm there isnt a single line of code. I could throw that up on a webpage and it would be equal to a dev blog or dev journal.
No offense.. I don't know anything about this game.
But if these guys were working on this for 7+ years and these vids are all they have to show for it
then it seems to me like it's either not coming out or all the good content is hidden...
it is hidden they persoanlly just dont want to show it off until beta starts and its understandable tell me what game before beta has ever giving more info than these guys have none that i know of it comes down to
will the quality of the game be good or bad and that we have to wait and see
The following is not my opinion on the matter, I truly hope that they are making a game and look forward to playing it. The following is an unbiased, logical and objective look at the evidence we have available....
You have to admit that it's easy to understand why people assume the things they do about Darkfall and it's devs. When you go and look for good, solid info on the game, there just isn't much besides what the devs have said. That alone is reason to question what's going on. I mean, in all the years of supposed development, I could find only ONE person outside of the devs that has played the game. Darkfall has been conspicuously absent from the major video game trade shows, and even if it did show up at trade shows it was never in a playable state, nor has a real-time demonstration for the press or public ever taken place. All we have to go on are a few videos, screencaps and the word of the small dev team. And you must admit that videos and screencaps can be faked relatively easily. All they'd need to do is get a hold of a game development engine, or even an editor that permits full graphical/feature modification of an engine like the one that comes w/ a game like UT04 to do so.
Then there's the fact that, by their own admission, they have not been able to find a publisher for the game. IMO, this coupled with the other info, raises the biggest flag. Seriously, with all the cruddy MMO's that have been steadily flooding the market these past few years you are telling me that this supposedly incredible game can't find a publisher??? That makes very little sense. One would think that in a game as feature rich, and with such potential the devs would have little trouble finding a publisher. Maybe they're holding out for the right deal? Maybe, but maybe not.
I don't know, personally, I would very much like Darkfall to come out as it sounds like it could be a really good game that I, and many others I'm sure, would enjoy playing. But until I see that the game has been played by some journalist from a major gaming-news publication/website, I remain skeptical. Skeptical but hopefull.

Screenshots changed yes, because there has been progress. As for engine being optimized that happeneds in every game, the difference is most companies don't show screenshots when the game is being still in Alpha unless they look good and if they do they are usually brushed up.

Release was pushed back and they mentioned that already in one of the Dev Journals, there was never a date given for beta just general statements that companies give. Darkfall isent the only company that pushed back it's release.
As for reviews there are plenty, IGN had them but now Warcry handles most of the development journals.To say that interviews that have been done are not credible is a stretch, there are resources that are stickied that have countless previews etc. from relaiable gaming websites. As for giving LOD and Combine a sneak peek at DF is not shady, you are really reaching here in my opinion and you are tyring to discredit the people who have interviewed the Developers. Warcry, IGN, MMORPG.com so on and so forth have plenty of interviews and info about DF.
If someone comes in and says Interviews don't matter, or says they are fishy or that there is no releaible info on DF then that to me says that the person posting is either a Troll or has an agenda.

Yep I was right you are a Troll, wanna know how I know? Because of what you posted above, Darkfall is being Developed there is evidance for it, it's not just text being posted because we know that the company exists, it has offices and a trademark and financial backing. People visited their offices, they went to gaming workshops, we seen videos, we have screenshots and we have a shitload of interviews.
My problem is basically with posts like yours, you're not the only one here using the same arguments that have been discredited time after time.

As for progress... yes... but there is a MAJOR difference between progress and rewriting your engine. Take a look at some of the early SS's they look like shadow bane. Now you look at the SS's and they look like vanguard. That isnt a change, thats a completely different engine.
I know that IGN and Warcry cover the game, however, my comment was specifically in relation to Asp the guy they had tour. If you want to make your community feel stronger in your game then you bring someone with a reputation... not some guy off the street.
As for my last paragraph, I was addressing dev blogs and features. Anyone can make a list of features.... that doesnt make it accurate or factual.
Im not a troll, I hope the game will release one day as it has all the features I want. I started back in 97 with UO and really miss the game. However, Darkfall is rather widely known as vaporware and they didnt get that title randomly or with out reason.
Does this mean Darkfall doesnt exist? No I think there is a version in some state on a pc somewhere being tested and coded. The issue is after 7 years they dont have much to show. THATS the problem.

That's not True, there's plenty of info out there screenshots, vids, a ton of interviews, you had LOD and Combine visit their offices. They went to gaming conventions and had a workable demo, this was in 2006. They did what any company pre-beta was expected to do, in fact in alpha stage you don't get that much info anyway but from DF we have a ton more info out then the other so called gaming companies provide during Alpha and pre-beta stage.
As for screenshots and vids being Fake that has to be proven by you that they are, just like someone says that DF is not real and Aventurine is not a real company and they don't own the trademark that has proven to be false and has been discredited.
The burden of proff is on people who are twisting the facts, and telling outright lies.

Aventurine is publishing the game, them finding another company that will Manufature & Package, Market and Distribute their game is a given. If you read the post that I made about this a few pages back you would know what the problem is and the problem is not the funding.

Journalists already have played the demo in 2006 game convention and there was an article that was posted about this already.
The problem like I said is people who have not done their research, and when they are give evidance of screenshots, vids, countless previews and 3rd part visits they discredit them like you just did. And when you did it you knew what you were doing, seriously unless you're new to DF and have not read any info about the game.
ANy more trolls want to tango with me? I am waiting to hear about more fake screenshots, movies, no info, no demo, no previews, company not existing, trademark issue, and how DF has no financial backing.
