EQII has vendors that sell items for you.
EQII has an in-game mail system.
The rest system is a good thing? All it does is limit people who play more than everyone else.
I think you better read up more on a game before you say it doesnt have anything.

And that my friend is why you are anticipating WoW . If you had actually read up on EQ2 you would know it had way more features than WoW.
Playing: City of Heroes/ Dark Age of Camelot Upcoming: EverQuest II
But you havent proved that the EQII features are redundant at all.

And why are you excited for WoW if you arent playing it? You must have read something about it right? There you just blew your whole "I dont read about games I play them".
Look, I do not want to turn this into a EQ2 vs WoW monkey fest which I m really getting tired with. You wanna know what features in the game that is redundant, simple... play it to find out.
p/s Games are meant to be played, not to be read about... peace!
srry man cant be on your side with that because i seen many of the sreen shots and demose and i think eq2 is better than WOW its the same with GW WOW thinks they can barge ij and own the place but WOW gots another thing commin and those two things are EQ2 and GW.
I think EQ2 and WoW will be the two best MMORPG's for the next couple years, nothing out right now comes anywhere close to the betas of both games in my opinion( i have played over 100 hours on every major MMO released in the past 5 years). EQ2 and WoW have the same basic design but they are totally different, for me eq2 has better RP value just because I prefer the more realistic graphics of eq2. I am going to play both games for at least 2 months then decide.
Also the whole leading team behind WC3 have all left blizzard, when they were bought by some big company (EA or something) so i don't know if this game will retain the quality of all thier previous titles(the frozen throne was done by the new team but that was basically just a few campaigns and several new units nothing big)... Overall I think most people have already decided which game they like better but if you have the money/time give both a try if not go with what you like in terms of gameplay, graphics, roleplay value for yourself, structure of: economy, guilds, playerhousing, crafting etc etc, it shouldnt take long to figure out which one suites yourself better but I gotta give everything a decent amount of times before i dedicate thousands of hours to it( like eq and DAOC, i havent found and perfect game yet but those two have come the closest. In the past 2 years though i havent played anything very long it all sucks or is outdated in my opinion.
dude zzcandy i cant believe u would choose WOW over GW i men i understand EQ@ but WOW man u got some seriose problems i played both betas too and WOW has no comparison to GW.
Ok, I see alot of trash talk on SOE and EQ. I'd like to try and quell alittle anger if I could. Everquest is a game that is, yes.... 6 years old? It was the biggest MMO after Ultima Online and has been going strong since. I think alot of people dont realize how much has changed in the gaming world in 6 years. Everquest was based on a system that is now 6 years old and is hardcoded in a way that new ideas are hard to impliment. Yes EQ has a lot of problems, Yes alot of them cant be fixed. EQ was good for its time, but now new ideas are taking precidence. Anyone comparing EQ to new games on the market are going to be in for alot of disappoint because... again EQ is *SIX* years old. Like every game learns from others mistakes to make new and better games, thus will be EQ2. Unlike alot of people, I am not a pvp'r, call EQ2 carebear as you wish, because I'm BLUE and will always be. Instanced dungeons are not unique to FFXI, they were first put into place by AO, then put into place by EQ, so count Square Enix as taking that idea from Funcom Also, for all of you that say SOE has shit dev, did you know that Square Enix actually has a Dev team working with EQ2 to design it and test it? That is for all you fanboys who think just because Blizzard is " teh l337 ownz0rs PVP warcraft blah blah " doesnt give it more credibilty than Square Enix. I like blizzards games, yes.... but they just arent my real style. I'd like to ask people to give EQ2 more of a chance than they are.... Every game needs to start somewhere
I'd also like to note that Verant made a lot of promises to impliment alot of things that they werent able to because SOE ended up buying them out and replaced most of the dev team, they werent empty promises, they were just a change of management
I'm only playing for that cute sailor at the beginning of the 8 minute video oooo and he had that wooden leg, oooooooowooo baby that could be put to some good use!

Agreed with CerebralM, some people DO NOT realize how much gaming has changed.
And when EQ2 comes, it is going to do the same exact thing as what EQ1 did before.
