I think to win any contest your account should have to be at least one month old and you have 2 stars thingy at least. That should cut out 90% of the dummy accounts.

*sigh* another contest come and gone. Occasionally I think that it might be better this way so it's not ruined for me by release. Then I think about how bored I am and I'd be able to play a game for free and I forget everything I just thought about.
Ok of the 3 accounts Zafar is only the dummy one. This is a guy who has no posts so he obviously joined recently. The other 2 are completly legit so all i say is congrats to the winners (except zafar who should burn for making dummy accounts)
guys, as much as you want to get the beta slot, stop ripping on the new peoples out of jealousy. The main purpose sites even get these contests is because it's helpful to both parties; the game company introduces more people to it's game, and the fansite gets more fanboys introduced to them which therefore increases readership. It's pointless to limit it by one month or so because that means people who just joined would never be able to win, and therefore would be so infuriated at said website that they'd never come back. I personally am one of those new peoples who just joined, and I've come back here a few times a day to check up on the latest news. I actually joined for the EVE online trial and found out later that there was a WoW contest being hosted. Turns out after the trial that I despise EVE. However, I'm a longtime fan of Blizzard products, so it worked out for me both ways minus the fact that I wasn't drawn for the contest.
I've seen enough of these contests to see that all older members hate the newer members because the older ones for some reason feel 'entitled' to win these accounts. why do you feel so entitled? what have you done that makes you feel you DESERVE the account into a free game?
The truth is that no one deserves these accounts. Anywhere, for any reason. The only people who don't deserve them are the people who cheated in a desperate attempt to deprive it from the others. So just disqualify those people and let the newbies go in peace.
I'll offer 50 Starcraft cd keys, 20 Diablo II cd keys, and 5 Warcraft III cd keys for a WoW beta key. I'll throw in any other cd-keys I have, such as Counter-Strike and Battlefield: Vietnam.
I'm just saying i think zafar cheated. since this is an account that has not even tried to post anything. So if you can give me any other reason that he joined please tell me. doesn't it seem a little suspicious that this person just has no posts and we will probably never hear or see him account until the next contest where he won't post but will have one of his other accounts winning. I do not care who wins. I do not even expect myself to win I just don't want a cheater to win.
Hey uhh guys... Take a look at ebay and search for World of Warcraft. Theres an account on the bottom being sold. The poster has no history and he just started his ebay account tonight!! july 12th. and ive been looking and refreshing that page for the last hour and he wasnt there unitl the last 10 minutes.
I think thats horible that people who niether enjoy the game nor want to help blizzard get chosn and the bloody idiots sell their account... jesus i love blizzard games and never get chosen for betas... alas therein lies the faults of random selection
WTF! Zafar registers on July 2, then logs in once on July 11th and wins an account??? This is such BS. Also Reelo won CoH beta and now WoW beta also, you should be limited to the amount you can win to give others a chance.

I'd just like to give you some friendly warning... people are gonna be ticked off if you gloat around them like that. you might wanna ease off of it a bit for the people who have been trying for a really long time and have been denied at every turn possible. Personally, if i had gotten the beta and not you, I would make sure not to announce like that on the boards for a while because of the indubitable jealousy that would follow from the peons who didn't get it.
