thats what the warherald is for vknid you should check out their DAoC website all the information one realy needs is there there's just not a huge bitching forum they have to constantly police.  Their original decisions stands from previous company policies on official forums from before they were with EA.

Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. He'll give you the simple explination of..WE"RE ALL DOOMED!

All I want is some sort of loading screen that get's updated VERY QUICKLY when the server crashes stating what the problem is if known and when it will get fixed. Do that, and I will be a happy camper.

There you go.  A perfect example of how they can get information out without all of the moaning and whining that takes place on official forums.  Official Forums have no major purpose other then to allow a company to police the information that is being said.

For instance Blizzard deletes tons of valid threads complaining about various aspects of the game.  Especially when they are actual valid points, although Blizzard leaves tons of nerf wanting posts and various other invalid posts.

I personally believe that both can be valuable ways to communicate with your customers but I think the herald does a much better job then official forums can ever do.

    Currently playing:
LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)

    Looking Foward too:
Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)

I think I like it this way less time and money spent on forums and more spent on the actual game. No people to whine about things that make the game fun and have them taken out of the game.

That's probably a bogus assumption. Since there is no place to go ask questions or read common faqs on every topic (class/race/quests) then people will just submit tickets and in the log run probably use the same amount of time/effort on EAMythics part than if they had forums to begin with.

In this day and age forums are dirt cheap and easy to moderate with the right tools.

It was well known that Mytic was not going to have official forums. They stated this policy at the beginning of their development of Warhammer and before they hooked up with EA. They did this with DAOC and they are doing this with Warhammer. If you want to whine and moan do it on a private form. Welcome to last year people, talk about old news.

Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2.

    Game(s) I Am Currently Playing:

    GW2 (+LoL and BF3)

These are all from a simple google search, and only a few of the sites out there. The entries were <Dark Age of Camelot> and <Dark Age of Camelot + Classes> You can find the information you need from any of these sites regarding Class/Race/Quest/FAQ, etc. etc.

Warhammer Online will most definately have more than this, as well as the main site and support. The only thing players are losing by not having Official Forums is a place to rant and argue about the game.

I have never found any good information about any of the MMO's I have played since UO that was posted by other players on the game's forums that wasn't already made available on the game's website or on a third party fan site. All the forums usually become is a haven for complaints, questions (that can be answered by a little reading), and unrelated to the game discussions. Just because you can't start threads on their website does not mean you will not have access to support tools and updates on ingame changes.

MMO Vet since AOL Neverwinter Nights circa 1992. My MMO beat up your MMO. =S
