You mean May 1st. Yeah, and I guess Fileplanet hasn't actually opened up their application forms yet. It still says "Open Beta Coming Soon" on their site.
and as I predicted earlier today, they went with a controlled number of testers (though 50K is more than I expected) and are running the beta through File Planet and others.

Uh, what? I just said that they haven't opened them up on Fileplanet, even though the article says it did.
Awesome news!! The best part is if Comcast is your provider you get a sub to Fileplanet/IGN, etc. free. I'm sure you won't need a sub for that many people to be invited though.

Heh ...... wadda ya know. That is certainly good news. Not quite what I was expecting from Funcom.

Heh. I checked all of the other mentioned sites and none of them have any information about the open beta applications. Only Fileplanet has a section for it and it isn't open for applications. You'd think they would have made sure things were ready to go before telling everyone to go apply for open beta.
Unless I'm blind and dumb, I don't see it.
the fastest any one has hit level 80 was 2 days 18hrs playtime so yea.

Ok from what I have been told the pvp features not ingame and been totaly thrown out for launch are
1)bloody money
2)drunken brawling
3)battle keeps and sieges.
My only question is where has all the pvp gone from the game thats was being touted for months months months as the enxt big skill pvp game.
pvp now
1)BG pvp games
2)PvP SERVERS.

If you log on to your comcast control panel, and go to some new gaming hub they have you can sign up for something called founder's club for free. It is a free subscription for the life of your service to IGN/Gamespy/Fileplanet, etc. etc.
Give registration now please...
I'm quite pumped.. got MGS4 beta to test and now this...
If they seriously cling to the lvl13 cap then this is the most ridiculous "open beta" i've seen. Also, it is not really "open" beta but rather a giveaway of another 50k keys.
But on the other hand, i dont expect anything else from them because lots of the folks "inside" shurely know what FC rather hides before release.
What an embarrasing excuse for an "open beta" - fits very well to the overall image of FC and their super "next gen" title.
