The reason they dont want a beta or post videos/screenshots of their game is very simple; they want their game to be a surprise and let us discover the world by ourself.
Gotta love that theory....AoC has beta for a limited number of 50k ppl. The flaming n the screaming of no open beta was horrid. Everybody saying they must have oodles to hide cause they not opening up the world. Wonder how much DF has to hide by not having a beta?
most news is on warcry.com the website is just a website there will be a new website closer to launch i believe. but they dont have a pr deparmeant they do it when they have time

Guys, I don't want any MMO to fail, but surely people like the OP understand how silly they sound when they post threads like this one. DF has zero credibility right now. Why would anyone in their right mind believe that 2008 is the year?
Think of it this way...if any other MMO out there were making the claims that DF is, and then say that they're not having an open beta because their game is "almost perfect", would you believe it? What if they had been saying there would be a beta for the last three or so years, but it never happened? See? It's a joke at this point.
If the devs want to gain any form of credibility at all, they need to step it up. Talk is cheap.

Sure, you feel better....but he doesn't hurt for it. I like my targets to BLEED when I strike them down with my righteous wrath. Darkfall can only continue to make promises. In fact...it pushes on in SPITE of me. This merry train of happy dreams! Living on and on and on...forever ignoring the need for validity. Somehow...we've grown to expect proof of everything else (even Gods!) but somehow...THIS game manages to supersede any form of intellectual growth we have, manages to even draw us backwards in time. To take us to an era where we walked hunched over, and thought thunder was God bowling.
How is it that we allow this game...THIS game...to make us forcibly regress ourselves DOWN the evolutionary chain in order to accept it as gospel? I think it may have something to due with drug overdose. I hear that some acid trips can make you believe in crazy things. Perhaps I'm just not approaching this concept appropriately. Does anyone have some good acid on them?
I have hope that this game isn't vaporware and they'll deliver on a lot of the things they've promised through the years. I guess only time will tell, we'll see when the open beta test rolls around. I want to be the first guy to land a headshot on someone with a bow & arrow.
Darkfail is alledgedly begin worked on by a 20 man part time team in Greece. Darkfail has been developed for as long as the 21st century is old. Darkfail doesn't have a closed beta so if a miracle happens and it gets released this side of 2010, it will perform like a spastic on ectasy. Adventurine hasn't released any tangible evidence that Darkfail even exists, screenshots and letting a couple of friendly fournalists watch you play an anonymous demo in Greece doesn't = an MMORPG (Sigil did the exact same to Microsoft until they got smoked).
I don't need to prove Darkfail is vapourware, the onus is upon the fanbois to produce real tangible evidence that this game exists in any shape or form. For all I know Darkfail could just be an investment scam, I see no evidence to the contrary!

I know, I'd gotten frustrated for a while reading about the features from the dev journals on the Warcry network. It does seem a bit suspicious how the Darkfall situation is panning out, maybe Adventurine has started the vaporware rumors themselves to gain notoriety! Although I hope it will launch, I will stay neutral if it doesn't, even if I'm trying to hold in the glee bursting from my body because of the anticipation.

yep it said release will be in 2008 with playtesting a few weeks before that. this is offcial
then you go to the forum and see a post 5 things down asking when the release date is, and a mod replies that they don't have one right now.
