Vanguard did the same thing (not as big numbers, but still). I realise the whole concept of thinking things through before you write it down is somewhat alien to you, but ffs it's marketing/hype created by marketing, that sells boxes, game quality has very little to do with it.

You wrote a good review. It was thought out and all around decent, but I'm inclined to agree with Lessbob. Your expierence comes from just a "very" small handfull of new age, feed the masses MMOs. We come from the age in the beginning. Games like EQ, UO, DAOC, etc... We have spent years playing MMOs and have almost played them all and no better than to take the opinion of a wetear.

aoc does nt run well on some systems like this pentium dc 2-5 -3 ghz nvidea 8600-8800 cards and 2-4 gb ram . it will run but its all down to what you find personally acceptable in a video game .

not counting monitor since it is not a part of how games run? Well that is the thing I just upgraded and kept my old stuff that I could still use like my psu, case, hd's (1 is 2 months old though), dvd burner all old, I upgraded to the athlon 62 x2 6400+ 3.2ghz + mobo combo, ram and video card for $829 tigerdirect.com I just got that stuff last week payed with billmelater. I would say estimated cost is around 1200 case was cheap and psu was cheap do I even need to mention the dvd burner since you can get them like $30-$40. Check out tigerdirect.com they have good deals I will not ever but a pre manufactured pc from anywhere you get ripped off. Alienware is a good example of overpaying you have to really like there case!
People need to play a game at least 14 days before a review. Most games rock at lvl 1-10. Its after the shiny wears off that we remember its just like the other 5000 MMOs.

I'm curious, what exactly do you bump into around every turn? As of right now I only have one active problem, every 30-90mins my client will go crazy and slow down massively untill it catches up to the alt+tab and lets me force close it, and i still play nonstop! I've been in a lot of first-day releases for MMO's and I have to agree with Prexix, as far as releases go, this game is definately in the top 5.
The difference between me and you? You take bugs you see in both games, I take all reported bugs whether i see them or not, and even with all the complaints about bugs in aoc, it still is doing better than most MMOs even 15days after their release lol

What you will probably find is that around 50% (from the polls and comments I can gauge) stopped playing fairly quickly.
The game isn't for everyone, it certainly wasn't for me but some people will enjoy it alot.
I just think from the initial sales (where many were hoping this would be the great MMO is everyone is waiting for) 50% liked it, 50% hated it.
It does seem to be the Marmite (either love or hate) of the MMO world.
